Mark A Benson

As an older female, I was very squeemish about my exam and would have preferred a female physician.. Dr. Benson was professional, sensitive and I got through it fine. He explained available meds and treatment. He is super. Love his attending nurse.

This was my first visit to Dr. Benson and I am very impressed with his attention to every detail and professional approach to helping me get better.

I have been a patient for only a few months but have yet to have him call me with any results. I found of through my PC doctor tell me I had stones. Calling every day to set up my procedure to remove my stones but his office will not return calls. No communication! Terrible doctor!

I had a serious urological issue that surfaced on 01/19/2020. It continued through the week. Could not get in to see my Family doc for 3 weeks. Went to same day care (SDC) on 01/23/2020. Despite the issue seemingly resolved over the ensuing weekend, the SDC doctor referred me to Dr. Benson for a 2 week f/u. Said I should expect Dr. Benson's office to call in a few days. They did not. A week after my SDC visit I called SDC doc who said he would "prod" them again. A week later, I called Dr. Benson's office and discovered that they'd had the referral all along. Pete scheduled an appointment...02/24/2020 (4 weeks after SDC visit). I found Dr. Benson to be attentive, knowledgeable, concerned. He ordered a different urinalysis + a different CT than the SDC doc had ordered. Said I would have urinalysis results and a CT appointment in a few days. It's been 2 weeks and I've called his office at least 4 times in the last 3 days. I still have no results or appointment, despite being assured by staff that I would be at least contacted not later that today. Staff appears to be lacking severely in efficiency and effectiveness. Update 03/06/20. I learned today that the MA for the office retired suddenly. I contacted the office yesterday and found that "Lydia" has been thrown into the chair to "figure it out" -- and considering all, she is doing a superb job! She was able to find my urinalysis results, and said she'd received a confirmation email from Banner Imaging, who would call me today to schedule the CT scan. And, they did. Kudos to Lydia! How thankful we are to be under Dr Mark Benson's care again! They even use lidocaine to insert a catheter. Night and day difference from the previous urologist, which was a horrible experience. Dr Benson has been my urologist for four years, and during that time has helped with letters to the VA, treatment, and recently an involved operation related to prostate cancer (orcestomy) this Dr goes the extra distance, has quality staff, and does always spend the time to make the experience a good one.. The wife and I are Very grateful to Dr Benson, and his wonderful staff..
