Horrible post op and incredibly rude and unprofessional when you complain about pain after surgery

Dr. Billante told me that my surgery would take me back to 99% after I tore my Peck muscle bench pressing. I'm at a 100%, and 5 years later I just tore my other Peck bench pressing again, unfortunately. I am contacting him again today because he did such a great job the 1st time, because I trust his work and judgment.

Dr. Billante is the best!! So glad he did my Rotator cuff repair. One week from 3 months post op. Very minimal pain. If you need to have shoulder surgery, go to Dr. Billante (Scott and White Round Rock, Tx)

My medical experience with Dr. Billante was really great, he was attentive and made me feel like my issues could actually get fixed, unlike other orthos I've seen. However I will not return to him because he's one of those physicians who doesn't warn patients of the cost of treatment. While I understand Dr. Billante has nothing to do with setting procedure prices, he probably knows that BS&W charges a $3,000 "speciality/observation room" fee for a simple cortisone injection, since I'd imagine he performs these injections daily. I believe it's part of his ethical duty to warn people before treating them when his facility charges like this. I would not have consented to treatment from him had he warned me of the cost. It was really disappointing. My medical experience with Dr. Billante was really great, he was attentive and made me feel like my issues could actually get fixed, unlike other orthos I've seen. Dr. Billante is such a caring doctor and takes the time to not only answer any questions but explain things so a common person can understand. My family has used Dr. Billante for 3 shoulder surgeries and the outcome of all 3 were amazing. Especially my granddaughter who plays softball and had an amazing season. Keep up the great work.

I first met Dr. Billante In 2016. I had a total reconstruction of my right shoulder. Nine months later I was injured on duty and re-injured right shoulder and injured my left shoulder. I had a total left shoulder reconstruction also involving the collar bone. I had a revision surgery on my right shoulder. This was in the span of 3 years. Dr. Billante is the best Doctor you will meet. He was there for me any time I needed him. He is a great Doctor and a great person. Thank you Dr. Billante for all you did for me. You are the best.

About 3 years ago I had knee surgery. My right meniscus was torn. So surgery was the best option. After surgery it all seemed fine. I started therapy 3 days after surgery. After going to therapy and then back for my follow up something didn't feel right. I had a lot of pain and I still do. Dr. Billante gave me a steroid shot on my knee. Well that didn't work . The pain was horrible. I couldn't bend my knee at all. He then decided to do a manipulation. A manipulation is when your knee gets bend backwards at a 25 degree angle. After the manipulation, I had 2 weeks of none stop therapy, a pouch that I had to carry because it had numbing medication. So my leg was completely numb for a few days. I had to sleep with a machine that was kept moving my knee back and forth. He couldn't do anything else . He had me going back and forth, until he passed his wrong doing to a pain management Dr. With the pain management Dr., I had 3 nerve block done on my knee. Nothing worked. She recommend a device that goes on my spine, but first I had to go see a psychiatrist because they thought it was mental. So I got approved to try the device for 5 days. On the 3rd day it was making me sick . The nurse suggested to just turn off the device and to go in Friday so it can be removed. Next , pain management Dr wanted to try a lumbar nerve block. I refused!! Pain management Dr referred me to a knee replacement surgeon. My knee was hurting, tingly on the side, I can't do any activity that I was used too. The knee replacement surgeon, said, " You are to young for a knee replacement plus your BMI is to high". So nothing was done. I lost weight like he had ordered. I went back he said that my BMI was low BUT I still couldn't get a knee replacement because I was to young. At this point I was furious, frustrated, upset, etc.... He only gave me a knee brace. Seriously, I had to wear a knee brace my whole life. It's been a little bit more then 3 yrs and my knee is the same. Tingly, gets swollen, hurts a lot, I walk funny, I can't kneel at mass . Any little thing that touches my knee it hurts . It's very sensible. I still have to go to work. I go up and down the stairs with lots of pain. Only if all those Dr's were in my shoes. They will know the pain I am going through. But I am not giving up. I use a stationery bike to help with my knee movement. I've learned to live with pain. I am not taking any medication for pain. I can't even get on my bed when I try to use my right knee it hurts a lot. The tingly part it's the one that worries me. Dr . Billante did something to my knee and he just passed down the ball to other Drs. All the Drs I've seen at Scott and White they all say the same thing, " It's arthritis". Really??!! How can arthritis be so painful and what about the tingly part thats very sensible to any touch. Now I suffer from back problems because of the way I walk. Its nonstop. It was the worst decision that I took. I thought surgery was going to solve the problem, but it just made it worst. Dr. Billante and Dr. Patel they don't want to see me anymore after what they did. I just wish them well and I hope I can find a real surgeon that can help me with the pain. I would never recommend them two. This is my opinion. About 3 years ago I had knee surgery. Post op horrible, only cares about his liability rather then doing what's best for patient.

Still waiting to find out why my Husband's insurance was charged $2300 for a observation/treatment room when he just went in for an office visit? Too bad, because he really liked the Dr.

I started going to Dr. Billante in April due to shoulder pain. Initially, I decided to take a conservative route to treatment in order to try and avoid surgery (an anti-inflammatory and PT). I would say I improved about 90 to 95% but still had issues will my range of motion at very extended positions. Dr. Billante listened to all of my concerns and never pressured me into any decisions about surgery - just simply laid out my options. After a couple of months of the extended position pain, I decided to go in again and surgery was planned as my best option. I felt completely comfortable with Dr. Billante. In addition, my friend who went to him for her shoulder surgery had raved about him and two nurses (one in which he had done her son's knee surgery). Pain management post surgery was excellent. Dr. Billante does a . . . I'm forgetting what its called . . . it's like a pain bag which lasts the first few days overlapped with medication. All this to say, my pain level never got above a soft 2 post-surgery for the whole recovery (it's been weeks). I'm seven weeks out now and can lift my arm to extended positions with no pain. All and all, I would highly recommend Dr. Billante. The whole surgery experience went smooth and fairly painless with excellent results. I started going to Dr. Billante in April due to shoulder pain. I have personally been in the medical field for 25 years, from EMT to Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Billante is a great Orthopedic Doctor that focuses on the patient and the issue. I get the feeling that he takes it as a personal failure if he cant get you near where you were pre-injury. I highly recommend him if you live in the Georgetown and Round Rock area. His PA is also a very passionate person, so if you cant get with him directly then she is great too.
