Dr. Swanson is wonderful. Great man great staff

Dr. Swanson did 2 implants for me. I only waited about 10 minutes after check-in, and the work was done expertly without discomfort to me. Skilled assistants all pleasant and personable. Doctor accommodated my preferences regarding local anesthesia. As a musician, I would call Swanson's work the "Stradivarius" of oral surgery.

He pushed for an unnecessary surgery that didn't help me at all. Could not help when I told him it didn't do anything and I still felt the same. Luckily my insurance paid the $100k+ bill

I was referred to Dr Swanson by a friend after having a terrible experience with another oral surgeon here in town. I have a son with special needs and he needs his wisdom teeth removed. Dr. Swanson was warm and welcoming. He listened to all my concerns and we decided on a care plan that relieved all my concerns. I am very grateful for the referral and am so glad I switched.

I saw Dr. Swanson. I know they are a busy seeing many different insurances. I was able to tell the nurse more of my issues than I was able to tell Dr Swanson. I realize I have a Ppo insurance and was referred for one reason but by the time I got there I developed another issue. I didn't get enough time to discuss that new issue with him. He only wanted to hear about my referred issue. He did seem to diagnose me.

Dr Glyman is the best oral surgeon ever. He saved my life by finding and removing cancer from my mouth. His staff is superb and his facilities are very clean. I recommend them 100%

I have cancer and developed Mouth Ulcers, which are extremely painful. I had been to my dentist and oncologist (which are both great). Both advised me to see an Oral Surgeon. My dentist referred me to his office. Dr. Glyman knew exactly what was wrong. Explained it in terms I could understand. The only issue was a long wait. But I can understand why. When someone is great at their job - - they get loads of referrals. I can be quite cynical when it comes to the Medical Profession in L. Vegas. I moved here from another state, where things were a lot easier. Therefore I wasn't expecting much. His staff was professional & accommodating. While I was waiting they let me know how long I would have to still wait.

They are efficient, they took care of my daughter when she was 12 & now 13. The surgeon is so sweet, kind, & funny cool. I personally won't go anywhere else when an oral surgery is needed.

I have been trying to reach this office for 4 days. I have left messages and sat on hold for hours I sufferd all weekend with an abscess tooth. Nobody answers and nobody calls back. Just want to give a big thank you to Dr. Swanson and his team yesterday. He pulled three very bad and painful teeth that had been giving me hell for the last few months. I was very nervous coming in, but him and his staff made me feel comfortable and took great care of me. Dr. Swanson is really a great doctor and did a fantastic job. I was diagnosed with a lesion on my gum and was sent to this office per my dentist. The women that works in the front is so unpleasant and unorganized. I had to wait about 30-45 minutes before being seen even though they want you to arrive 15 minutes before your appt. From the beginning I felt very rushed by Dr. Swanson, my lesion was removed but I still have a mark on my gum that I’m not happy with. Dr. Glyman removed my bottom wisdom teeth in 2020 and my top wisdom teeth a week ago in December 2021. I highly recommend him for oral surgery. I am in my 40s and was concerned about waiting so long to have them taken out because they didn't give me problems up until now. Both of my experiences were great. I didn't wait long and Dr. Glyman was kind, patient and had a nice sense of humor. His team answered my questions and kept me informed of what was happening each step of the way. My first extraction was booked at surgical center that was like a hospital setting where I wore a patient gown and was in a hospital bed. Minutes after Dr. Glyman approached and calmed my nerves with his good bedside manner, anesthesia was administered through an IV and I was out in seconds. I woke up after what felt like only 30 minutes. If there wasn't guaze hanging out if my mouth I would have asked when they were going to start. I felt the same as when I went in, not at all like I just had oral surgery. It was amazing! There was no opportunity for a friend to film a video of me saying something funny as the anesthesia wore off. I was calm, able to keep my balance, and coherent. Everyone was shocked when I felt completely normal the next day. I still followed the doctor recommended protocol following an oral surgery. I ate apple sauce and soft foods for a couple of days and then moved on to eat solid food again after 5 days. Last week, I was booked for an in-office surgey for my top wisdom teeth extraction. When it was time for my appointment, I was able to wear my street my clothes. A large surgical bib was placed over me and the nurses put a nasal oxygen flow device under my nose. Dr. Gylman came in, found a vein to administer the anesthesia and I was out like a light. The last thing I remember was laughing about something he and the nurses in the room said and then waking up with my friend/designated driver helping me into a wheelchair to the car. By the time I was home, I took a nap and woke up needing to changing my mouth gauze once before eating soft foods and moving on with my day. My experiences with Dr. Glyman were wonderful and have me looking forward to visiting the Dentist to take care of my teeth. I hope I don't need more teeth removed though because I need the rest! I went for a TMJ first consult and I waited an hour before a MED assistant even talked to me. I arrived at 12:45p for a 1p appt. 45 min in, When I asked receptionist whether the delay would be longer, I was treated rudely. My appt was right after their 1p lunch break. Why an hour delay, unless they always overbook. Then the tech wanted to take 360 X-rays. When I asked her if they had requested my X-rays from the referring dentist, she had no idea. And no one asked when I booked the appt. She said I would have to call my dentist and request them. That’s when I politely explained to her that I was now late for a client appt, because I also owned a business. And that I was leaving and if Dr Glyman cared to know why, he could contact me. Dr Glyman and his staff are true professionals! The wait to get into see Dr Glyman was ????% worth it. Once the first consultation was completed, the rest of the appts were more timely. Caring, patient and being helpful dealing with insurance companies is the recipe needed for healthcare professionals in this busy and very large town! And Dr Glyman and his team have every ingredient! I emailed with a staff member that was always quick to respond and so helpful! Kiara went above and beyond helping me with appts and insurance nightmares. Also, having aftercare nurses call the day of and day after surgery was helpful and needed. Getting more advise to help with needs on an individual basis adds to the professionalism and care you receive with this practice. I had not just one, but both of my kids under Dr Glyman care. Dr. Glyman is one of the best doctors I have ever seen, funny and attentive. I suffer from TMJ and he has been helping me find some relief. The reason for the low rating is 100% due to the front desk staff, some of the most unequipped staff I have ever dealt with. Be prepared to bring your insurance cards TO EVERY SINGLE VISIT, even if you have been seeing them for over a year. Be prepared to always have to give your information every single time and every single time be told, oh your insurance isn’t active or terminated and asked again for the information you gave them last time. Over and over and over again. Long waits and no apologies ever. I was also once completely forgotten when they asked me to write my number down and wait in my car, I call back and they go oh we were calling the number but you weren’t answering, THEY WERE CALLING THE WRONG NUMBER. This review is specifically for the Summerlin location. Dr. Swanson is GREAT. He is an amazing doctor and this review has NOTHING to do with his amazing expertise. I’ve never dealt with Dr. Glyman but I’m sure he is just as amazing. The reception office for the Summerlin location leaves a lot to be desired. I had an EMERGENCY tooth extraction that needed attending to. Now, last time (Jan 2018) I had 3 wisdom teeth extracted from the flamingo office. It was “emergency” as well. There was no problem getting scheduled they just called and let me know what day to come in and it was scheduled within 10 days. However this Summerlin location has yet to schedule me for an emergency wisdom tooth extraction for my last wisdom tooth and it is going on several months now since the consultation appointment. I called leaving messages daily never to be returned I’m still sitting here can’t eat because my tooth is damn near all the way out of my mouth I could’ve just pulled it myself and yet Medicaid will still pay them all of their money every last cent that they want yeah they treat as Medicaid patients like were scum of the earth last time that I checked Medicaid will pay you fully out for my total bill before anybody pays their petty co-pay to let the insurance catch the backend. I honestly can’t thank Dr. Glyman enough for the incredible job he did with my daughter. She recently had double-jaw surgery, and Dr. Glyman did an outstanding job. As a mom, I was quite nervous about this intensive procedure, but Dr. Glyman put us at ease. My daughter is recovering at a faster rate than a typical individual who had undergone such a surgery. He is a pro, knows what he is doing, and understands how to work well with clients. I can’t recommend him enough! On another note, his office staff was wonderful during this process. When I needed some answers at the hospital, his staff was quick to help and very understanding. Overall, this has been a great experience. This has to be the worst ran Dental office in Las Vegas. Both appointments took over an hour of waiting and if you ask the people at the front desk, they are very nasty and rude. I don't understand how they think they can make people wait an hour longer than their appointment time. If they don't know how to manage appointments, how can they manage my families dental care? My family will definitely be looking elsewhere for our care.

So I had very impacted wisdom teeth that needed to be sectioned out. I am also a 38-year old mother and I am terrified of sedation, (PTSD from a previous injury). Dr. Glyman was kind and direct on my intake appointment. He answered my questions and hurried off because, I'm assuming, of that huge line he had to deal with that day. The paperwork, the front desk, the staff were all direct and very busy. You do need the patience to wait for your turn, bring a book. However, Dr. Glyman is absolutely worth the wait. We decided to do local anesthesia due to my anxiety being a risk factor. We worked as a team to get through it with body language and eye contact. He took the time to explain to me what he was going to do, what I was going to feel, how it was going to look, etc. He's a very busy man and cuts straight to the point. Personally, I don't care about bedside manner so long as the doctor knows what they're doing. This guy absolutely gets it.

On 6/24/20, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, I had my second oral surgery with Dr. Mark Glyman, at Southern Hills Hospital, in Las Vegas. I am 19 years old with autism. I am blessed and honored to have Saint Mark as my oral surgeon. In Pre-Op, “The Vein Whisperer” was summoned to my room because the nurse could not find a good vein for an IV. Dr. Glyman came in, pointed out the obvious, and made the nurses and everyone in the room, including my mom, roar with laughter. I realized at that moment, that making people laugh is a gift, and when well done like Saint Mark, it is a therapeutic art form. The laughs we all shared in pre-op was a remarkable healing force and allowed me to forget all my pre-surgery jitters. I don’t think humor found that room by accident. I think Saint Mark is a skilled healer in every form and fashion. I recovered very quickly too. I love Dr. Glyman and wouldn’t trust anyone more to do my third oral surgery. I took the day off work and so did my parents so they could accompany me to this appointment. My husband had the worst experience with Mr.Glyman, very very unprofessional and uncaring. Treats his staff poorly, non compassionate and obviously doesn't care for his patients. The doctor seemed nice BUT I have a severely chipped and infected wisdom tooth that is causing me a lot of pain to the point where I can't eat anything. The doctor prescribed antibiotics which helped with the infection but didn't mention that to my insurance so now my insurance is denying my request to have it removed. He stated several times how bad the infection was and I have a paper here saying "a liberty licensed staff dentist has reviewed the request and decided that it does not meet the requirements for removal of tooth (or teeth)." WTF. It's only getting worse and I don't know what I'm going to do now. Dr. Glyman is a phenomenal surgeon. He performed a total of 3 surgeries on me, and not only am I pleased with the outcome, but I am also greatly pleased with the experience that he provided. The time spent in the waiting room is like any other doctor's office, however, it is worth the extra wait time to be able to have Dr. Glyman as your Surgeon. I HIGHLY recommend! Spent 3 minutes looking inside my mouth and mis-diagnosed declaring I need to remove a perfectly functional just swollen salivary gland, that is producing saliva. Sounds profitable and quick, but the heart, attention to detail, and proper diagnosis are missing. I would avoid esp if you need a surgery, unless you just want your body parts indiscriminately removed.

Dr Glyman is very compassionate. I've had previous extractions but recently had my whole top removed by dr. Glyman I was feeling very down and he came to my aid and made me feel more comfortable before the procedure. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Mark Glyman’s board-certified surgical skill and deep care for his patients are molded into that high form we call genius. Lucky for us, Saint Mark has dropped down into our mortal world like a shooting star. He is always there you, unchanged, waiting to care for you, as is his stellar staff. The icing on the cake is that Saint Mark’s skilled hands flew off the books at Harvard Medical School and UCLA Dental School and his wings landed him in a residency for general and maxillofacial surgery at Boston’s infamous Massachusetts General Hospital. That explains all the initials after his name…MD, DDS, FACS. What more could you ask for in a surgeon? We are blessed to have him in Southern Nevada.

I am Teri Barlow and I wish I could give zero stars for professionalism and timeliness of service. My original appointment was scheduled for May 18th at 2.00. After waiting 1 1/2 hours and witnessing 2 patients reschedule their appointments because they waited so long I canceled my appointment and left. My time is valuable also. When talking with another patient earlier she said her appointment was scheduled for 2.00 as well as mine. Overbooking? I rescheduled my appointment for June 11th. I was seen in a timely fashion, however, Dr. Glyman had an angry look about him during my visit. He requested an MRI which I scheduled at Nellis AFB for July 11th as I couldn't get in any sooner. On July 17th I saw Dr. Glyman with my MRI results and he stated I needed surgery to correct the problem which I figured that's what I needed. I was informed by medical staff that Dr. Glyman's office needs to request for an approval authorization from my insurance before scheduling my surgery. So, 1 1/2 weeks after my last appointment I called to see if the request was submitted. I was informed their surgery scheduler quit and it would be another 1 1/2 weeks to submit the request. On August 14th I called and left a message for a Lori and on the 15th with Kristiana. Their voice message said they would contact me within 48 hours. I am still waiting and it is August 23rd. In fact, I have been in contact with my insurance and the request has never been submitted as of this day. I am very disappointed as I believed this medical group was going to correct my problem. As I see from other reviewers, this doctor has many problems with his front office staff. I hope he realizes that is costing him to lose his customers. I am one of them. To start, there were so many people waiting in the waiting room. That is never a good sign and means you'll have to wait forever even if you have an appointment. Then, they had a Christian television program. That was a first in a waiting room. Is this some sort of indoctrination?Another bad sign. The main problem was that the front office staff was rude. She was always short when she spoke as if she were already in an irritated mood. Then, she was accusatory when I didn't have the x-rays or referral form. I kindly told her that I was never asked to bring them and that my dental office had sent them. She got a bit more pushy and accusatory and said that it was in the notes that I was supposed to do that. I told her again that I was never instructed to do that and said just forget it and that I didn't want to see the doctor. So I left. She called me about 5 minutes later to say that she found the paperwork and that it was in the other office. No apology or anything. I don't know why they weren't organized enough to have it prepared for my appointment. Even when I called them at first they kept saying they never received the paperwork from my dental office. I called my dental office twice to resend it. Finally on the third call they said they had it. Too much dysfunction and rudeness at this office for me and I got another referral. The only reason there are two stars left is because this office is sweet but unorganized! Irresponsible with the care of their patience and careless when it comes to calling you back. When they do call you back they're rude and talk to you like you've offended them in some way without provocation. I've needed a tooth extraction for over three months and they're still trying to blame my insurance company for their laziness. Me and my insurance company were both on the same line trying to get them to answer us and still got put on hold, hung up on multiple times or just flat out rerouted to Mina's voicemail. Really knows his stuff

Dr. Glyman just pulled my tooth out and i didn't even know he started. He is a wonderful doctor. He's not very friendly but he's professional and definitely knows his stuff. Highly recommend him. Excellent!

I can’t thank Dr.Glyman enough,He gave me back my life and self esteem and confidence. I had a severe underbite and he did magic with his hands. What a pleasant experience with Dr. Glyman. Had a broken jaw and in some of the worst pain of my life. I saw Dr. Glyman on a Tuesday and was in surgery the following Thursday. My initial visit with him was short, the thing that took the longest was the paperwork. After seeing him for about a minute, he already had a gameplan. When I arrived for surgery, he told me over and over again that he was going to fix me up and make everything better. He was right, the pain after my surgery is far less than what it was initially, even after a plate was put in, wisdom tooth removed and jaw wired shut. Rude doctor. Comes in the room without introducing himself, explaining procedure or follow up care, or telling you what he's doing or anything about the procedure. He will however stay in the hallway flirting with the nurses and come in long enough to do the procedure and walk out of the room without so much as a word to you.

Dr. Glyman was roughly the 20th Dr I'd seen, and was the only one to get the correct diagnosis, and handle the problem correctly. I had a chronic bone infection, which was nearly deadly, and it took him about 30 seconds to spot it. The infection had gotten into all of my teeth, and over the years I'd have 1-5 teeth go bad at once. Glyman always acted quickly, knowing the impact on my health, and extracted them within days of seeing him. I don't think I'd be alive today.

The wait is ridiculously long. Waited 1 HOUR to get an X-RAY which only took 2 mins. Doctor looked at it about 3 mins.

Today i had my 4 wisdom teeth extracted by Dr.Mark Glyman! And let me tell you! I have never had a surgery or any teeth taken out before and when i tell you Mr.Glyman is EXCELLENT! I'd be dead without Dr Glyman. I went to around 20 dentists/oral surgeons over an 8 year period, desperate for help. I had to stay on massive amounts of natural immune support just to barely function. I kept saying I had an infection at the site of a serious injury decades before, in my upper jaw. Well, Dr Glyman took about 30 seconds to look at my mouth and say, "You have a bone infection." He was right. When my teeth had been shoved into my upper jaw, I'd rolled in sand after and gotten sand inside my jaw. In the end, the sand caused an infection for so long that it got into all of my teeth, and my lower jaw. I was unable to work, and having seizures. When a tooth went bad, the added infection made my health crash (it fed into the bone infection) - lots of ER trip. Dr Glyman always worked with me, never shot me down, never dismissed my problems. He's fast - a visit can be 2 minutes - but he knows his stuff. In the end, he excavated the inside of my upper jaw, but after 2 decades of that sand in there, my teeth were too affected. I'd get a bad tooth, get critically ill, and he'd remove it. It was so bad that he had to remove my final teeth at Southern Hills hospital- I was so dangerously ill that they needed the ER services close at hand. But he took care of it. Had I found him earlier, I would have avoided a lot of suffering. As it is, he is the ONLY Dr who actually listened and got results. It's been 2 years since my final procedure with him, and now I'm working 2 jobs and taking care of a special needs son- I can function. I appreciate Dr Glyman very much! I was referred to Dr. Glyman by many people who said he was a phenomenal doctor and they were right. Dr. Glyman is the best Oral Surgeon in Las Vegas. I broke my jaw and had a Le fort 2 fracture. I was very nervous about surgery and Dr. Glyman helped me feel safeguarded. He repaired my jaw and fracture and everything is now perfect. I highly recommend him. He is extremely qualified and distinguished.

Dr keeps two sets of records. One for himself with true notes and another cleaned up version for the chart and court. Glyman and Mersha are friends. He is not forthcoming and honest as was my experience and therefor, I would NOT RECOMMEND HIM FOR ANYTHING. I have had to refer myself to an Infectious Disease Practitioner because he was completely unwilling to do anything other than cover his Friend Mersha's mistakes. Ya' gotta watch these good ole boys and run. Go out of state for your work.

The best oral surgeon . . He did my TMJ surgery and in doing so , he found my lung cancer on a chest XRay. He showed compassion and directed me to a surgeon for my lung cancer . He also helped me find an oncologist. Every time I go in his staff have been kind and understanding .. He is helpful in areas that is not in his job requirements .. God bless him .

I would not recommend this doctor if they had a choice!! He will not listen and dismiss any concerns that the patient may have. My daughter went to see him to get her wisdom teeth removed. He told her to come back in one year. No other explanation and walked away. She heard other patients complaining it was a waste of their time. My daughter and I felt the same way!! Maybe if she was using private insurance she would've got them removed.
