Great staff and Doctor!!! Super helpful and polite. Very thorough

He takes time to listen to my complaints and asks questions. He also follows up by phone to check on my status after changing prescriptions or procedures.

Can't say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Kogan. Due to the pandemic I hadn't been able to get an appointment with a doctor so I was miserable. Saw Dr. Kogan, he ordered tests, when he got the results he gave me a prescription and within 16 hours of the medication kicking in, I felt like a new person. I can never thank him enough. He is the best Doctor I have seen during my time living in Northern California.

Dr. Kogan is very professional, knowledgeable and cares about his patient. I had some issues in between the appointments, and he answered my questions several times in patient portal without delay which I really appreciate it. His assistants are caring and friendly too. I would like to recommend Dr. Kogan to anyone else.

I was refered to Dr. Kogan by my PCP. He is a fine doctor who is very attentive, nice and appears to be genuinely concerned about my well-being. I appreciate that so much. Thanks Doc!

I was sent to Dr. Kogan for scheduling a Colonoscopy. He was very clear about what would happen and his staff were caring in making sure I would prepare myself for the Colonoscopy procedure. All went well! Not even an uncomfortable experience. I recommend!

Dr. Kogan was excellent and very professional in performing the colonoscopy on me. It was over so quickly without any complications. I am amazed by his work ethics. Thank you Dr. Kogan good job.

I have struggled with serious and complicated chronic health problems for decades. It’s always difficult to relocate and have to search for a new physician. As a former health care worker, I know that there is always a learning curve for physician, patient and office staff, especially if the patient gets sicker, as I did. I am so fortunate to have chosen Mark Kogan, MD as my physician. He is compassionate, kind and very knowledgeable. He is patient, respectful and willing to really listen to his patients. He goes out of his way to make sure his patients are taken care of. I have always felt that we are working together as a team and I have actually never experienced the level of care I have received here at any other physician’s office. I am old so that’s quite a few offices and physicians. I realize there have been issues with the office and calls etc. I believe during COVID these may have been somewhat more apparent and I believe that the physicians and office staff have been really trying very hard to address these issues. So I won’t deduct any stars for that. I am so very grateful to have a physician like Dr. Kogan caring for me and wish all patients could have this experience with their provider. One of the worse places ever. Waste of time. No help at all. Dont come here if you wish to get better. Doctor krogan is no good at what he does and the front desk people is a joke. Unprofessional. Half year later still no help. Finding another place to get real help.

I'm posting one start only because that's the minimum required. They canceled on me suddenly, after rescheduling several times. When rescheduling, they kept saying they were changing the days Dr. Kogan worked. After that, his office called and abruptly cancelled with no explanation at all. My Primary Care Physician says they get many complaints about them and Dr. Kogan's office won't return their calls. If you're looking for a necessary procedure, I highly encourage you to look elsewhere, rather than let a lot of time pass by before being told you need to go somewhere else. I was very satisfied with my virtual consultation with Dr. Krogan. He was attentive, listened and reacted accordingly, and gave me good solid recommendations for how to handle my digestive issues. He was exceptionally patient, and answered all my questions/concerns.

Dr. Kogan's office initially rescheduled multiple times, saying the doctor kept changing the days he worked. This was, of course, after me making multiple arrangements for time off, rides, etc. Eventually, after everything was approved and all the paperwork was done, his office called and abruptly cancelled the whole procedure, with no explanation. My primary care physician's office says they receive many similar complaints about them and that Dr. Kogan's office won't return their calls. I highly encourage people that need procedures to look elsewhere.

I’ve been waiting 3 weeks for their front desk to call back with an appointment after the doctor said a friend needed a procedure. They NEVER return phone messages. NEVER!

Definitely a 5 Star for my previous visits for consultations and exams.

I very much agree with the reviews that I already see here. Efficient and friendly are the first two words that occur to me.

I needed a good gastroenterologist in Berkeley for a complex condition. Dr. Kogan is great—thorough, knowledgeable, , easy to contact, and responsive to my concerns. His manner is professional, but still warm and caring about my welfare. I recommend this office.

Our loved one has had chronic constipation since he went on solid foods as a baby. It's been a long road with doctors and the County health system. We were fearful that the County might not allow us to see Dr. Kogan, but we got in. And we're so glad we did. Dr. Kogan presents himself in the most professional manner, but also is very personable. He's knowledgable in your particular case which was evident while speaking with him. Every doctor we've encountered has expected us to fill out paper work regarding conditions and then speak the exact same words during the exams. So kudos to Dr. Kogan for actually doing his job. Dr. Kogan Is kind and gentle. He is very efficient there’s no waiting time. He sits down with you after your procedure and explains everything and sends you home with copies to review later. Going in for my third colonoscopy and first time endoscopy.

I have had a long history of issues with my gut that have been difficult to diagnose and treat. After taking a great deal of time to review all of my past tests and treatments we tried several approaches and now I am happy to say that I have the best year that I can remember in a long time. My only problem with the office is that it can be hard to reach them sometimes.

First of all try to eat healthy but if you happen to have GI issues,DONOT see another GI specialist other than Dr.Kogan.I am biased because my experience was ten stars .Upper GI with Colonscopy could not be better

I have known Dr. Mark Kogen for over 20+ years he was my Loving late wife's Gastro Doctor before he became mine. My most recent procedure done at Alta Bates was performed with perfection by his entire staff Maryann prep nurse and Dr. Cooper the anesthesiologist Dr. Kogan is a master of his craft and I have never been more confident in a Doctor. As a patient of Dr. Mark Kogan, I have been very pleased with his disposition, and with his very caring approach. This is important when raising a family, and also dealing with possible health issues, because knowing you are in the hands of a doctor who cares can help to relieve a lot of unnecessary stress. As for the nurses, excellent bedside manners--- except for one. Even though I told her I was still feeling dizzy, she continued to push me to get dress so I can leave. Not a good situation.

Dr.Kogan answered all of my questions during the pre-colonoscopy checkup and his staff explained in detail about the preparations needed.

The first time I saw Dr. Kogan I knew I was in good hands. The depth of his knowledge about a complex operation I'd had and what should be done to keep my recovery on track was so encouraging. I was glad to be under the care of a doctor who was highly trained and intelligent, warm, friendly, asked clear questions, listened to my concerns, and reassured me that he would always be available when I needed him.
