Dr. Lawler is brilliant, perspicacious, attentive, instructive and compassionate. My husband is living his old life due to Dr. Lawler's hip surgery and I am feeling no pain in my knee and hip because of his interventions. Daily we feel blessed to have experienced his acumen and care.

This guy saved my life! I dislocated my hip when I was 18 and a doctor in napa misdiagnosed it, so I lived with a torn hip labrum and two bone fragments in my hip for nine years. It was a seven and a half hour surgery, and he nailed it. My mom and I still talk about it to this day how sweaty he was after surgery but he wouldn’t give up till it was done. Dr. Lawler is very professional. He did an excellent job with the PRP in my hip.

This bad news my friend Will (see his review) has been in pain for years. This doctor wants him to risk Covid by forcing him to be around people when he's trying to isolate. He lives alone, miles from family. He was told that it was out patient surgery and he'd be up and around immediately. Nothing was said about needing care. He offered to stay in his RV outside the ER or get a nearby hotel. The surgery was scheduled for the day before Thanksgiving so they aren't around anyway. Even if they were, they'd be at work. Initially I was enthusiastic. He seemed knowledgeable and competent and able to alleviate an issue that was causing discomfort for years. It was supposed to be out patient surgery. I was supposed to be able to walk around immediately. At the last minute, after I'd already made travel arrangements, he canceled the surgery. He said I needed someone to take care of me. I traveled to have this surgery and I am self isolating so I don't give or get Covid-19. I discussed this several times with members of the staff and their only concern was to not drive until the anesthesia had worn off. Nothing was ever said about needing someone to take care of me. My husband followed with Dr. Lawler for a ruptured hamstring after a mountain biking crash. He was seen earlier by another ortho MD who said surgery was not indicated. Dr Lawler was incredibly thoughtful and suggested surgical repair in order to regain full function and shorten healing. Best decision! He was back on a bike in 4 weeks and we had a great experience. I had PRP injected into my knee and it is better now than it was 10 years ago. I thought that I would need surgery, but the PRP fixed it. I have now been getting injections for my tendinosis in my elbow. Dr. Lawler and his staff are so caring and kind. I am looking forward to similarly successful results.

Dr. Lawler has treated nearly every member of my family. When the 4-year-old broke his collar bone, Dr. Lawler saw us immediately, patiently answered all of my frantic, worried-mama questions, and saw us through to recovery with frequent check-ins and reassurances. When the 12-year-old broke his wrist, Dr. Lawler saw us immediately and then met us at his office ON A SATURDAY to take x-rays and have his amazing staff cast the wrist. He told us exactly where we could pick up a shower sleeve, again patiently answered my bazillion care questions, and realistically set our expectations for heal time. When I blew a lumbar disc, he personally delivered a prescription TO OUR HOME and got us in to see a surgeon in short order. Dr. Lawler makes you feel like you're the most important patient he has. He provides top-notch orthopedic care, with a big heart. He will go out of his way for your health and well-being. If he can't help you, he will find the best possible person who can.

Dr Lawler is AMAZING. He talks to you like a real person, excellent bedside manner. He is very knowledgeable and takes as much time as needed to explain everything. My surgery went perfectly. The after care is outstanding. Everyone in his office is friendly and helpful. I am so glad to of gotten to have him as a doctor.

Just did my surgery yesterday. From the moment I met this man he was amazing, great with my kids who went to appointments with me, incredibly thorough, explained everything in detail and in terms I completely understood, was extremely quick to get my surgery scheduled, just an all around ridiculously wonderful experience. After years of other doctors not listening to me, Dr. Lawler swiftly came to my rescue. I was comfortable, felt understood, and was completely taken care of. I wouldn't trust anyone else. I HIGHLY recommend this Dr/surgeon to everyone and have already told many people about him. In addition to Marin Sports and Orthopedics, Dr. Lawler is part of the Future Medical Group- the Center for Regenerative Medicine, also in Novato. About 3 months ago I had stem cell injections in 3 joints in an effort to stimulate cartilage growth and prevent the need for surgery in these joints. It takes 2-8 months to fully determine the results of the procedure, but I feel that I got excellent care from Dr. Lawler. The procedure was simple and he is clearly expert at what he does.

Words can't express how amazing this surgeon is. After years of pain and being brushed off by other MD's Dr Lawler took the time to review all my records and to listen. I mean really listen. I had arthroscopic knee surgery to clean up a torn meniscus tendon 5 days ago and I have been crutch-free since I got out of the facility! I cannot believe how little pain there has been and I have had no problem sleeping through the night either. Dr. Lawler is kind, funny, professional and explained everything to me so I could understand what was wrong and what would be happening to make it better. And the staff was also very friendly - I would totally recommend him for care!

I had arthroscopic hip surgery to repair a torn labrum eight years ago. I have not had a pain free day since then. When I followed up with the doctor regarding the pain sent me to a pain management doctor and I had no improvement. He concluded he could not help me further. When I returned several years later he did not know why I was still experiencing so much pain and weakness other than to suggest I might have bursitis.

Best experience I had. Nicole told me that I had a torn ACL and a torn meniscus. So, did physical therapy and they didn't work. So went back to the office, and saw Dr. Lawler and he recommend that I have meniscus tear operated on. Got my surgery done and imy knee feels so much better then what it did before.
