I should start by saying: I did not undergo surgery, only went to a consultation. But that experience was enough. I needed an umbilical hernia repair after having my youngest, and went to discuss the surgery with him. He glanced at the hernia, said he could fix it, and then spent the rest of the appointment trying to convince me that he should preform a tummy tuck at the same time. “The ladies really enjoy it,” he kept telling me. I have no desire for a tummy tuck and kept trying to ask questions about the hernia, and he kept coming back to my “need” for a tummy tuck. I’ll be finding a surgeon that actually cares about what his patients are asking for, not one who gives unsolicited advocacy for expensive, cosmetic, uncovered by insurance procedures, the only purpose of which is to fit his mold of what a “lady” should look like. Performed a breast reduction on me in July. In our consultations we had discussed taking me from a G/H cup to a B/C cup. This surgery was medically necessary and approved by my insurance. At my two week post op appointment he told me I would be a D cup because he thought my husband was mad at him.

I reached out to Dr Sandersons office for a BR. The visit prior to my surgery he was very curt and rude. He even went as far as to say "were you sleeping the last visit? All because I had questions. But during the last appointment my husband and my children were there so once we got home I wrote down my questions for the next visit.I struggle with severe anxiety especially about surgeries. (I almost died the last surgery I had) After my surgery I had complications on my left side that kept worrying me.. he said some very rude comments to the dr (in the ER that I visited ) about me that I presume he didn't think the dr would write down. But in my medical chart online, there are all the notes. I only saw dr sanderson the day of surgery , the day after surgery literally as he was walking through glanced and walked back out of the room....no talking nothing. Just glanced. Then I didn't see him till 7 weeks later. Which was not comforting to me..I worried a lot and kept feeling like something wasn't right and ended up going to the er 3 times total in the 8 weeks after my surgery. He successfully and adequately reduced my breast size. But as a mom of 2(1yrs and 2 yrs) who had to bring my girls to most appointments.. he didn't seem to have empathy, sympathy, compassion or even remotely good bed side manner. When visiting inside his office I always felt like I was a burden and quite honestly I felt ashamed every time I went in. He was not this "comforting and kind" dr other reviews ranted about to me personally.. He has 2 very kind girls who worked in the back. They were polite and respectful. He does the job you need but doesn't make you feel comfortable about it. I felt obligated to share my experience due to how much I've anxiously thought about his comments or snide remarks to me since I completed my visits with him. I don't want someone else who struggles like I do, blindsided like I was by him and his demeanor. ... do you realize how much easier this whole experience could have been with some kindness and a small oz of compassion from Him? In my opinion as a CNA... your relationship with your patients makes a huge difference...it's very intimate....I mean he literally downsized my breast while I was asleep on a table! I reached out to Dr Sandersons office for a BR. The visit prior to my surgery he was very curt and rude. He even went as far as to say "were you sleeping the last visit? All because I had questions. Everything Doc Sanderson told me was exactly true. My experience was exactly like he said it would be. Carpal tunnel symptoms were gone immediately. He has done over 10,000 carpal tunnel surgeries and it was simple, fast and a quick recovery. instead of a palm incision, he went through the wrist, which is less intrusive and a faster heal. He even put the incisions in a wrinkle on my wrist so my scars would be less visible. I would recommend him to anyone and hope he continues to practice for many years! His office will call you minutes before your appointment and tell you not to come in because he decided to take the day off. If there was a zero star I would give it to him. He did not care about my husband. We have been to his office twice. Both time I am extremely disappointed. The first time we went my husband was loosing feeling in his hand. He took x-rays and told my husband that his hand was fine. Then my husband looked at the x-ray and asked him what the inch long line in his hand was on the X-ray. The doctor asked if my husband had recently worked with metal. My husband said he had and the Doctor said he had metal in his hand. Which if we would have done what the Doctor first said and go home with a clean bill of health he would have continued to do damage to the nerves in his hand. The second was my husband again having pain in his hand and not being able to pick anything up. he told the doctor that he did not think his tendons were attached. Dr. Sanderson said that was not what was wrong with his hand. He kept telling my husband that they did not give pain meds. My husband never once asked for pain meds. All he wanted was to find out what was wrong with his hand. The Doctor Again told my husband that his hand looked good. So we decided to get a second opinion. In the second opinion my husband has three completely torn tendons. His hand was in really bad shape. So frustrating having the first doc tell him that his hand was fine and to get physical therapy. Physical therapy would not attach the tendons. Not at all happy with this doctor. Please do not waste you money on this Doctor He has no idea what he is doing. Both my daughter's and my experience was great. Doctor Sanderson is honest, helpful, and knowledgeable. I had 2 cysts removed - one from my wrist and one from my neck. The neck cyst had returned from a prior surgery from another doctor but after Dr. Sanderson's operation it has not returned. I also had a cut ligament in one of my fingers and Dr. Sanderson got me in right away and did a great job. My daughter's finger had to have pins (age 6) and she had such a great experience she told us she wanted to go back and see Dr. Sanderson again. I noticed a couple reviews complained about his bedside manner. My experience is that Dr. Sanderson is quieter than other doctors - maybe not as warm as other doctors - but we are very comfortable with his bedside manner and we would recommend him to anyone in a heart beat! I recently fell on a run, resulting in a mallet finger. I went to a different doctor who didn't correctly diagnose the problem. I was referred to Dr. Sanderson, whose office was extremely cordial and accommodating getting me an appointment very quickly. When I showed up for the appointment I was given paperwork to fill out. I was called back, had an x-ray taken, and had doctor consultation finished before I could even finish the paperwork. My initial appointment with a general doc at this hospital was not handled well, so they received a poor review from me. This experience was the polar opposite. Worked out exactly as we should expect from the medical profession. In fact, my expectations were exceeded greatly! I recently fell on a run, resulting in a mallet finger. Dr. Sanderson is honest in his appraisal and tells you what will and will not be corrected by your surgery. First, he did 2 carpal tunnel surgeries for me. I have had wrist pain as well, and he told me the carpal tunnel surgery would fix the numbness in my fingers and thumbs, but not the pain in my wrists. He was correct, and since then have found that the pain I have is from a completely different set of problems. He showed me, years after the carpal tunnel surgeries, what is wrong, and his methodology is great. He does not use injections of cortisone, which he explained turns the surrounding tissues to jelly and there's not enough left to perform good surgeries. Yes, that's a more painful way to live before the surgery is complete, but I'd rather have more pain and know I'm not going to a doctor who treats something in a way that will cause more harm than good. I'll have Dr. Sanderson perform the joint rebuild necessary on my right wrist, and if my left wrist needs it, he'll do that one, too. My primary care physician referred me to Dr. Sanderson for both procedures. Dr. Sanderson is honest in his appraisal and tells you what will and will not be corrected by your surgery.
