Dr. Mark V Wedul

My experience was unlike the others here, or maybe others like me are hesitant to post, but Dr. Wedul treated me in a very condescending way - almost threatening me if I didn't take the eye drops he prescribed for glaucoma, telling me not to talk back to him, when I never did. I was nothing but respectful. I just wasn't convinced that he was diagnosing me correctly. He sat with his back to me, took notes, and rarely made eye contact. I finally gave up after several visits, and went to a different eye doctor who did lots of other tests, said I did not have glaucoma, diagnosed me with dry eye and blepharitis and started a new treatment (doxycycline). I hesitated writing this because I know choosing doctors is a very personal thing, and you never know if people's reviews are accurate, but in this case I felt strongly enough about my experience that I couldn't not post this.

Dr. Wedul is professiionally very knowledgeable, competent, and caring in treating patient. He is thorough and gives patients plenty of time. I highly recommend him after many years as his patient. I rate him as 5 out of 5.

I have been a patient of Dr Wedul for over thirty years and he is so professional and knowledgeable sending me to a retina eye specialist I needed to see. I totally trust my eye care with him.

Dr Wedul and staff did an amazing job fitting me into their schedule and examining my eyes. Everyone was super friendly. His knowledge and experience diagnosing the issue was excellent! Highly recommend

When I called to schedule an appointment, the woman who answered the phone was very nice - I was happily surprised they could fit me in later that day. Upon arriving, I waited for at least an hour before Dr. Wedul saw me - since it was a last minute appointment, I could excuse that... however, my experience with Dr. Wedul was unpleasant - he was condescending, didn't communicate with me at all about what he was doing during the appointment, and grew visibly frustrated (close the point of yelling) when I couldn't convince my eye to stay open for a test. I said, "I'm sorry, I'm trying to keep my eye open," and he was incredibly condescending and dismissive. Eventually he switched instruments, and the problem was solved immediately (it seemed that something was previously mis-calibrated?) Whatever the case, he handled the situation completely unprofessionally, and I've never felt so disrespected or uncomfortable in a doctor's office in my entire life. Yes, he gave me a correct, routine diagnosis, but the entire experience was completely unpleasant. I will not be returning to Lexington Eye Associates. Dr. Wedul is the best physician I have ever known. He runs on time but takes as much time as you need, personal service and medical expertise is out the top. I recommend him to everyone who has eye! His staff is superlative as well.
