Mrs. Martha H Hagaman

Dr. Hagaman took care of a complex medical situation regarding sleep and allergic reaction issues that had gone undiagnosed by a family member for years. The team is outstanding with people on the autism spectrum and really fights in an appeal to get what is medically necessary!

Dr. Hagaman is a consummate professional who is compassionate and skilled with communicating with high functioning people on the autism spectrum. She gets to and treats the whole patient and follows up on appeals with her dedicated assistant. Truly a bright light for patient care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hagaman for almost 6 years. She is professional, personable, caring & attentive to your well being. I will always recommend her ??% to all my family & friends !!

I’ve been working with American Sleep for several years. Dr. Hagaman is an excellent professional and always looking to make the use of my Bipap more beneficial. While the facility is located close by, we still do telahealth calls. A great advantage to the patient. Dr Hagaman has always considered the needs of the patient first as opposed to creating insurance claims. Thank you Dr. Hagaman.

We have been trying to find a reason for my daughter being so exhausted and having complete meltdowns over nothing. We were finally referred to Dr. Hagaman and she took the time to talk to us and wanted to get to the root of her problem. She ordered a sleep study and it revealed that she had severe sleep apnea. She sent us to an ENT to get evaluated to see if she needed her tonsils out. She had them removed and after a couple of months she repeated the sleep study. She still had severe sleep apnea and Dr. Hagaman was quick to order a sleep study with a cpap machine. We came back to see her and let her know that my daughter was still having daytime sleepiness. So Dr. Hagaman ordered a daytime sleep study. This revealed that she also had narcolepsy. The best pediatric medicine was Xywav. She prescribed it for her and then our insurance wouldn’t pay. They spent hours and hours with the insurance company and with the pharmacy to try to get her enrolled in a program to help with the cost. They were amazing and went way above and beyond what they had to do but in the end was successful. My daughter does so well on this medication as it allows her to get the needed REM sleep at night instead of all through the day (which interfered with school terribly). I can not say enough about Dr. Hagaman nor her assistant Susan with how dedicated they are to their patients to get them the help they need.

I like that Dr Hagaman uses the telehealth service as this is very convenient and saves me the time needed to drive to the doctor's office. Susan and Dr. Hagaman are very helpful seeing that I have the proper CPAP equipment.

I’ve dealt with extreme exhaustion for years with my two sleep disorders , but I am finally at a place where I feel like I’m living a normal life; and am so great full that I picked up the phone and gave them a call.

I highly recommend coming to see Dr. Martha Hagaman and the great people who work here! They got me in quickly, assessed what I needed, and took great care of me! It has been almost three months, and they still check up on my progress and help me get the best sleep that I can!

Mr. husband turned me on to Dr. Hagaman in November 2021. We have both had excellent experiences with not only her, but her staff. We also love Susan! So a big shout out to this incredible team! She actually listens to your chief complaints and will help to resolve them.

Dr Hagaman is amazing. I can’t say enough great things about her. She helped me to diagnose my issues and get the treatment I needed very quickly. She is always incredibly attentive and very genuinely cares for her patients! She is very diligent about checking in and making sure things are going smoothly. The office has always been incredibly responsive and easy to get ahold of. I’ve never had any difficulty getting any responses. She’s so encouraging and reminds me how incredible it is to be struggling with narcolepsy and cataplexy and still be living life day to day. I love that she cares not only about making sure my sleep issues are taken care of but also wants to remind me I was never lazy and any of the negative self talk I had related to my narcolepsy wasn’t my fault. I think that’s incredible. You really don’t find many doctors that are this involved and caring about their patients. I’ve been seeing Dr. Hagaman for years for my sleep apnea. She is very thorough and she has helped me so much. So if you need a good pulmonologist, please don’t hesitate to make an appointment with her.

Wonderful doctor. She cares about her patients and what she does. Ive been her patient for over 10 years.

Such a great and caring doctor! She always answers all my questions and goes above and beyond to help her patients. The office is organized and staff are attentive as well.

I thought my excessive sleepiness and issues with disrupted sleep patterns were the result of menopause but Doctor Hagaman had me do a Sleep Study and it revealed I had OSA - stopping my breathing for 2 min, multiple times a night! Now, I am alert morning person and I feel younger and LOVE my CPAP!

My husband sees Dr. Hagaman for his CPAP and supplies. We appreciate her attention to detail. She listens to my husband's concerns and quickly addresses them. We especially love her tele-visit option so he doesn't have to miss work.

I am very happy with Dr. Hagaman as a person and have no problems with her bedside manner and care however the communication with her office and coordination of care with sleep study and follow up has been less than desirable. At this time I can not recommend her practice because of my experience but hopefully it will improve for others. Again, this is not due to the care given by Dr. Hagaman but simply the follow up and next steps including getting Rx and securing cpap machine.

Dr. Hagaman has been my sleep Doctor for many years. Probably about 20 years. I could not sleep without waking up many times a night. She did a sleep study on me and then put me on a CPAP machine and my sleep started improving immediately. She has kept me updated with the latest technology and I have been sleeping 100% better since she has started treating me. I am a very young looking 74 year old because she has turned my sleep totally around and I look forward to a good nights sleep now.

My wife sees Dr. Hagaman and has received excellent care for sleep issues. Very responsive when the need arises.

Dr. Hagaman has recently helped many of our family members to sleep better. Her clinical skills are excellent and bedside manner is unmatched by other physicians. Her office staff was quick to respond to our phone calls and questions. Highly recommend.

Terrible office staff & beside manner. No return calls after 4 calls to refill my Narcolepsy prescription...crickets. After filling out paperwork that took me an hour to complete, Dr. Hagaman never logged online for my telehealth appointment. I waited an hour and 20 min with my camera on and called the office multiple times before deciding to log off. I'll be asking my doctor for a referral somewhere else.

Dr. Hagaman is very pleasant and a good doctor. Her office is a disaster. I would not recommend this doctor because you will SEVERAL messages and rarely get a response. You will NEVER get anyone to answer the phone when you do call. I had a terrible sleep study and Dr. Hagaman was very nice and said "Come in and see me and I will fit you with a mask." I said I am not going to pay for an office visit and Dr. Hagaman said "I will not charge you for an office visit." She truly cared to help me with my sleep apnea. Of course, I was charged for that visit and for 4 months have been calling PHYDATA who says it's the doctor's office to tell them to take the charge off. I call and call and call and nothing is ever done. TERRIBLE OFFICE STAFF. I would recommend Dr. Hagaman but stay clear because you won't get good service or any help. Dr. Hagaman is one of the best doctors I have ever had! Around 4 years ago, I went to Vanderbilt sleep medicine and was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Despite following treatment and having a sleep machine, I still felt really tired and felt as though I was never going to get better. When I switched to Dr. Hagaman, my life changed dramatically. She determined that I had been mis-diagnosed at Vanderbilt and that I actually had Narcolepsy. Dr. Hagaman worked tirelessly to ensure that I finally got the answers that I needed and that I got the medication that I needed at an affordable rate. Dr. Hagaman and her team have been absolutely phenomenal -- they really care for each patient and are determined to find the right treatment for everyone. I have had other people in my family go to Dr. Hagaman as well, and everyone loves her! I am always able to schedule follow up appointments in a very timely manner and Dr. Hagaman provides any resources that I need very quickly. Additionally, she is helping me prepare to move overseas by working with my medicine company to make sure that I have all of my medications and sleep doctors in the country I am moving to. Staff was very professional and helpful. Dr. Hagaman has an excellent bedside manner and very knowledgeable as a sleep physician. She cares about her patients and insists that their needs are met promptly. She answered all of my questions. Above all she is a kind and caring physician.

She was the first doctor that actually diagnosed my condition correctly and it completely turned my life around and made a difference.

She misdiagnosed me with apnea based on an in-home sleep study. I only found this out when I went to a new doctor who took one look at the results and said "What on earth?!!" I spent 18 months struggling with different masks/settings that I DIDN'T NEED. My sleep has gotten worse. I'm livid. If I had to pay more out of pocket for supplies I'd be suing them. Also, the overall incompetence of staff and turnaround time got old real fast. If I've been a patient for that long there is no reason why I should be called after every appointment to ask what my pharmacy or what insurance I have. And this was pre-covid too. It got worse with telehealth visits. I consider myself a very patient & accommodating person but this place turned me into a Karen so here I am writing a review.

It’s automated. Limited availability & her staff (Lack of) is snarky & rude. Having been a past client as of today 11/10/20, I was treated like yesterday’s trash today. No apology for their office not returning my 4 phone calls throughout 2 weeks! I was out of town even- I should’ve called more! I asked a Williamson Med Ctr supervisor who gave me a non-public # that’s not listed for general public, only Dr’s & staff.. that in itself was a chore & the rude supervisor had a VERY sharp w/ me, But if she hadn’t called Dr. Hagaman’s office “on my behalf” lol, no one would’ve called me period. My initial experience with Dr. Hagaman was excellent. She has given me hope and wants to get to the root of the problem. I’m excited and pleased to work with her on my severe sleep issues. I give her a 5; however her office staff personnel, Susan, was rude and unprofessional. She wanted to talk about herself, asked inappropriate questions, and provided unnecessary comments as well as cutting me off mid-sentences. I would recommend the Dr, but the intake was very off-putting and uncomfortable.

Good doctor, but it's almost impossible to get a hold of them without going to their office, and they don't follow up on voicemails and when you ask them to reschedule over the phone, it's not guaranteed to be rescheduled.

She is a good doctor but her office is a disaster. There is a new person in the office who seems to be sharp, but I think the mess she inherited must be overwhelming. Have been trying for two weeks to simply have a prescription sent to a local medical supply place. Very frustrating!

Having had no response over several months, we are wondering if she has abandoned her sleep study business. I have luckily been a patient of Dr. Hagaman for years for sleep apnea and sleeping problems associated with long turm shift work. She is so good at her job. She's fixed my problems. She continually evaluates my condition at every visit and makes recommendations based on my responses. Completely thorough. I would have a hard time replacing the care she gives. She never rushes you on the visit. She listens to her tech staff input. Listens to you and responds. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I have seen this Doctor three times and like her a great deal. She is very personable but not real reliable in terms of "expediting" needed information. It took me FOUR days to beg a letter from her that was extremely time sensitive.
