I just love Dr.Read. He listens which is the most important thing you can ask for from your dr. This is my 4th baby and I have used him with other pregnancies. I highly recommend him.

Dr read delivered my baby 09/21 and everything was smooth He listened to all my concerns during pregnancy and after delivery His staff was alllll amazing

Dr. Read is good, billing staff not so good. A person chooses a doctor in their network to not have out of pocket cost. When the doctor orders blood woork and sends it out, the staff does not verify if the lab where they're sending the work is in network. This can cause a person high out of pocket cost they are aware of, until you get a bill from that 3rd party company. If the company where I work did this, with the amount of elderly patients we have, it would be terrible. I spoke with the staff about it and each person either put the blame on someone else or they said we don't verify. However, each had the tone in their voice like that's not our job and that's your problem. Unfortunately, I am stuck with a bill that I should not have, if things in this office ran like the other doctor offices did. I see another doctor in the same building and they were up front, honest, and told me when an office was out of network. They would give me the paperwork to choose an office in my network

I cannot recommend Dr. Read and his staff enough. I was impressed with them when I first became a patient in 2017, but recent events have made me even more grateful that Dr. Read is my OBGYN. In 2017, Dr. Read implanted an IUD which has been a complete lifesaver for me. I went from having horrific menstrual problems to not having a period at all - literally all symptoms gone! That, in and of itself, was a huge blessing. This week, however, I had to have my IUD replaced after a somewhat traumatic experience. I contacted Dr. Read's office in tears and very upset. One of his nurses, Shelly, was very attentive - she let me cry out my whole story to her. She showed concern and compassion for me instead of acting clinical and distant like some medical professionals can do. She immediately relieved many of my fears and assured me that everything was going to be okay. The next step was to get a new IUD which was going to cost well over $1000, but I do not have health insurance or that kind of money to pay outright. She talked to Dr. Read and called me back with a payment option that I could handle. In fact, their plan to get me a new IUD really left me speechless. Dr. Read's kindness and willingness to work with me on the cost is something I cannot ever repay. Shelly's compassion and concern for my situation was invaluable to me and I'll never forget it. Two days after this problem started, I now have a new six year IUD and another 100 reasons to tell you...if you are looking for an OBGYN, look no further than Dr. Martin Read. I declined all extra lab testing, and double checked with the nurse that the UA was in house and she explained it was and they do this for every pregnancy visit. Later I received a bill for STD lab testing (which I've already done at a previous doctor and brought previous records to Dr. READ). Unbelievable.

Been my Dr for 15 years he delivered my daughter now he is her dr I guess the circle of life. Love him to death I recommend him to everyone

I loved Dr. Read as my doctor . His nurse Mercedes is so sweet and caring she answers all your questions to make sure you understand . I also love how she takes care of each and every patient . Nancy is super sweet I really enjoy his staff. I recommend Dr. Read !!!

Dr. Read has been my OB / GYN for more than 21 years. He delivered all three of my children and is now the OB that both of my daughters see. He is amazing in every way from his care to his bedside manner to his great sense of humor. Every interaction with Dr. Read and his staff has been a top notch experience. My daughter and I have been to this office multiple times, this is her second child. My daughters baby boy has a significant congenital heart defect, Nolan needs heart surgery. The sonographer never reported the abnormally to Dr Read nor did he review any sonograms to our knowledge. My daughter also had abnormal labs which were never shared with her. We found out by accident. Medicine called into pharmacy that they don’t carry. This office in NRH is horrible, absolutely no follow-though. We are so disappointed this licensed sonogram technician never followed though. Dr. Read whom we both adore is absolutely overwhelmed with the number of patients or he has Alzheimer’s. Dr Read has taken great care of me for 25 years. He's personal, recalls my history without looking at a chart, and has always been so respectful. Hopefully he'll deliver my grand babies some day!

I am really surprised to read any negative reviews about Dr. Read. I personally know many ladies from church who have gone to Dr. Read, and I've never heard one complaint and only hear excellent remarks. I love Dr. Read. I went to Dr. Henderson for 15 years and after she retired, I selected Read from a handful of other ob/gyn. I am glad I chose him as my doctor, and I am nothing less than very pleased. I had a C-section w/ my first baby last year, and everything went smooth. Sure, you may have to wait in a waiting room, occasionally, but if you play your cards right and schedule your appt early morning, or right after lunch, you can avoid that issue altogether. Waiting in a doctors office is expected, and it's not the doctors fault, it's normally the patients or a staff member. If you are looking for a professional, respected, trusted, considerate, caring, empathetic OB/GYN, look no further, and try Dr. Read. I absolutely love going to Dr.Read! I was referred by my mother in law while I was pregnant. My whole pregnancy they were very kind and caring, his nurses are the sweetest people I've ever met! Every visit, they made me feel comfortable and ensured my baby was ok. I had a rough pregnancy towards the end and Dr.Read made sure I was taken care of fairly fast if there was the slightest doubt in his mind that something could be wrong with my baby. Right after he delivered my daughter he gave everyone a hug and congratulated us, which made us feel like we were more then just another patient. My after care appointments and getting my birth control was great, they worked with my work schedule and got mean as soon as my birth control came in. I LOVED Dr. Read. I highly recommend him and his staff, he is amazing and I never had any problems with him. I was iffy about having a male doctor but I do not regret it. He will definitely be my doctor in my next pregnancy.

Dr Read is a exceptional physician and surgeon. He is very knowledgeable in his field and works with Premed students and grads to see first hand how his practice and clinical care is top notch and love for his patients is unsurmountable. I've had the worse experience ever with this Dr & his nurses . From day one when I had found out I was pregnant there was nothing but excuses and problems! I've had to go to the hospital about 3-4 times because when I would go to my dr visits they never found any infections but when i would go to the hospital with pain they advised me I had kidney infection , Uti , bacterial , and yeast infections. How did this dr never find or detect it first before I had to go to the hospital ?!? Then an excuse was that they called and left a voicemail that I had one and to come in for the prescription which was a lie because I never had my voicemail set up or missed calls. I didn't have Medicaid so you know how much money and debt I'm in for those hospital visits and tests ? He's also located at a different office everyday so they never have your records safe and just in one place. I missed out on my FMLA money after I had my baby because they had "lost the paperwork" & they after they "found it" which was after the deadline that they supposedly faxed it which I called my job and they never received such thing and when I had my baby they were suppose to send them paperwork again which of course AGAIN they somehow forgot or "something happened" when my baby was born the dr said my baby had a big head when he gave me a c-section I guess as an excuse on why he had to give me a c -section but trust me I've seen babies with big heads her age and it wasn't big !!!! & now it's been a month since my IUD should have been ready , I went in and was in waiting room for 45 min with my baby so they could tell me it wasn't in yet. I called for a whole week for the nurse to call me back and tell me what's the status because they haven't called me in a whole month to tell me it's arrived . So when they finally called me their excuse this time was " the company for some reason hadn't delivered it yet" that must be a lie and must have been on their end on why it never got sent. Dr Read seems very nice. It took 90 minutes of waiting to see him. I understand things happen, but a heads up that there's going to be a wait of that caliber is appropriate. I would have taken my 3 year old daughter to the Sonic next door instead of trying to keep her tame enough for a doctors office.

My mom has came here for years Dr Martin Read delivered my siblings and was my moms OBGYN! My first two kids were delivered by Dr Hardie who is now retired. So now Dr. Read is my OB Doctor he is amazing with a sense of humor and explains everything to you. He doesn't let you leave wondering with questions cause ur questions are answered! The staff are also amazing woman very sweet and inviting! Office is a little 90s style but it's all good. A lot of people I've known has gone here.
