I have known Mary Beck since early 1990's. She had helped me found myself and got out of an emotional and psycholigically abusive relationship which I was trying to safe as my marriage counselor. Mary helped me see the reality and helped me through a tough times in trying to safe me and my two young children at the time. With her support Istay strong in my efforts establishing my career in mid thirties while being a single Mom. Then she helped me through and still helping me in a challenging blended family. Therapy is a journey because life is a journey. Things happen in life continuously as long as we are alive. My two children are now independent functioning successful adults that I am proud of and I have a good high paying career that I still enjoy after 22 years which I am also proud of. I would have not been able to achieve that (knowing where I started) without Mary as part of my support system. She is not the fixer of my problems, that's not the therapist job. She has helped and still helping me to see things from different perspective and provide me with tools to handle my life. Glad I have her in my corner all these years. She is very much appreciated. My spouse and I met with Mary Beck for marriage counseling over a few month period and we cannot give her a positive review. If we could give her a negative start we would. We were disappointed with her lack of constructive advice, her desire to meet with one spouse separately all the time and we received confirmation from our current marriage counselor that Mary Beck gets "mixed reviews" and causes more harm to relationships by isolating couples and taking sides rather than teaching techniques to reconnect couples in a marriage. If you want to fix your marriage, then avoid Mary Beck. If you want to get divorced, then I am sure that she can assist.
