I recieved a reminder call in regards to an upcoming appointment. Before I got disconnected I said I would reschedule when I knew a better date. I didn't call back because the receptionist knew I wanted to call and reschedule for a different date. Days later I get a bill for $125 for not giving 2 days notice of cancelation. Even though I told them on the phone.... Now I get another bill with $10 interest charge for not paying on time. Apparently they can't do math because they say it's 1.5% which isn't $10... it's actually $1.86. He charged 8% interest... talk about shady. Both the doctor and the front desk receptionist have their moments of being rude and very unhelpful. Also can be very difficult to get hold of them when you call. I finally had enough of the struggle with them, so I decided to switch to a new dentist. When I called and asked them to transfer records, he said he will make a note but he was too busy for me right now. That was definitely the nail in the coffin and proof that I made the right choice of going somewhere else! Does great work. Has always found time to fit me in.

I have been going to Dr. Bednar since I was a wee little one. His office is always very clean and I've had great dental service for over 30 years. I would recommend.

Appointments always on time, Dr. Bednar gets you in and out quickly. I enjoy the personal attention that is provided. Dr. Bednar knows his stuff and knows his customers. A great find, that is conveniently located in Johnston IA.

My wife and I have been going to Dr Bednar since moving to the Des Moines area in 2003. It is always a pleasant experience (and I was someone that HATED going to the dentist as a child). Any procedures or corrections are simply recommended, never pushy. He is always complimentary on how well I brush/floss, not the stereotypical guilt trip of not flossing enough. All of the appointments are on time, and I’m disappointed when they are over and it’s time for me to go to work. He has also been available for questions, and a drop-in visit, when I have had questions/concerns. I absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist, or anyone that is not 100% satisfied with who they currently see. I started seeing Dr. Bednar because of the convenient location near work. I keep going back because I appreciate how he talks me through what he is doing and offers practical advice on caring for my teeth and gums. He doesn't try to sell me unnecessary procedures. He is honest and straight forward with his treatment and care. He gets to my appointment right away and is respectful of my time. Dr Bednar and So called nurse cheated me. Charged 1,600.00 to clean my teeth and x-rays He never told me what prices were and deep cleaned my teeth which cost alot more. Didn't let me decide which one o wanted and he picked deep clean without letting me choose as consumer. I feel he cheated me.

Longer waiting times, only one clerk/support person which makes her job tedious and unconerning to customer, I think. Doctor charges quite a high fee (2-3x higher for same procedures) as compared to other dentists in the area.

Dr. Bednar does brilliant work. He's especially good with children. Our kids enjoy their visits to the dentist and leave smiling!

Felt that he treated me very badly. Seems to need money. Stay away from this one.

Wanted money upfront before it went through insurance and once it went through insurance he never paid us back from the overcharge. Look elsewhere if you want someone that's trustworthy.

Needed a new dentist and had to have two teeth extracted and put it off as long as possible :(...It was painless and fast with Dr. Bednar

I have been going to see Dr. Bednar for over 13 years. Very personable and knowledgeable.

I have been seeing Dr. Bednar since I was about 2... I am 31 now. My family goes to him, my kids go to him. We have never had a problem. We will continue with Dr. Bednar until the man retires.

Dr. Bednar has been my dentist for the past 8 years now, and every experience I’ve had with him and his staff has been great. I have done a couple of cavity fillings as well as regular cleanings at his clinic. Dr. Bednar always explains the process and takes time to answer my questions and concerns in a professional and friendly manner. Cavities are never fun, but all my procedures here have gone smoothly with a minimum of discomfort. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist. I have been going to Dr. Bednar now for about 7 years and can't say enough wonderful things about this dental office! The dentist I was seeing before, I felt was doing procedures that were maybe unnecessary. I didn't trust them and felt like they wanted to discuss prices and payment more then my teeth! This is not the case with Dr. Bednar. He is very thorough with everything he is doing and I have had nothing but excellent results in all my cleanings, cavity fillings, and one crown he did. Not only did he do a great job but is also very friendly and makes me feel very comfortable with going to the dentist. Now all of my family and several friends go to him as well. Great dentist!! Has taken care of us and our kids for nearly 30 years. Our kids's spouses have switched to him and taking our grandkids also. He is always very thorough and explains every procedure before he starts.

I've been seeing Dr. Bednar at for about 5 years. He's great at his job, explains things very clearly. Always answers any questions, and wants to make sure he does everything he can to keep your mouth on good health!

Dr. Bednar has been my family’s dentist for over 25 years and we recommend him highly. He has always been very caring and explains everything before he starts. My kids have never been afraid of going to the dentist. Thanks for all the great care!

I have been seeing Dr. Bednar for several years now and couldn't be happier with him. Going to the dentist has never been one of my favorite things but he makes me feel comfortable and at ease every time. Every procedure he has done he thoroughly explains and has been painless. My children and husband also see him and we only have good experiences each time we see him. I highly recommend Dr. Bednar!

The doctor is giving me the most information about my teeth and oral health than any other provider if ever been to. I’ve been about dental treatment but Dr. Bednar discussed about buffering anesthetic which made the shot pain free. The treatment was easy and painless . My five year old I’m sad to say had a few cavities to repair and she found Dr Bednars approach to be not alarming and she was not apprehensive for her subsequent appointments. Will not give a referral to a doctor he did recommend or know. A referral is just to let the other dr. Know what needs to be done.
