Dr. Bullock recently provided our Mom with a total hip replacement, but only after thoroughly screening Mom and discussing her options with her. She is a young 93-year-old. The surgery was so successful – giving Mom immediate pain relief and her mobility back. Superb surgeon . He did my hip revision surgery. I am 2 weeks post-op from an outpatient robotic total knee replacement performed by Dr Bullock and his team at the Three Gables Surgery Center in Proctorville, Ohio. Just a few days after the surgery I knew I had made the right decision with regard to the procedure and the doctor. My knee felt much better than it had prior to surgery, able to bear weight on it without pain and within 5 days I was able to walk without a walker or cane. Adequate pain control has enabled me to comfortably do the at home exercises and PT. According to my therapists, my range of motion is excellent. The nurse has contacted me twice since the surgery to make sure everything is going well and answer any questions or concerns I may have. I would highly recommend Dr Bullock and Three Gables Surgery Center.

Dr. Bullock performed outpatient total knee replacement on me September 2022 at Three Gables Surgery Center. As previous reviewers have sited, Dr. Bullock thoroughly explained the procedure. I am 6 months out of surgery and I am back to full activity - tap and jazz dancing, walking my dog, line dancing and strength training at a fitness center. The compassionate, competent staff at Three Gables and Dr. Bullock are a good team. I will be having my other knee done in the near future. Dr. Bullock is definitely my provider of choice.

I found Dr. Bullock and his staff to all be extremely professional and personable. The waits were never long. The surgery went well and everything happened as was explained in the visits prior to surgery. Would definitely recommend Dr. Bullock.

The office is well organized. Dr Bullock is a wonderful doctor. He treats you like a person and not a number. He takes time to explain things. He is an excellent doctor/surgeon. I was bone on bone with my knee and it really hurt but now that Dr Bullock did knee replacement the original pain was gone the day of surgery ( just had incisional pain which will go away).

From pre-op meetings, to the operation, and through recovery, the experience could not have been better. Dr. Bullock and everyone around him were a treat to deal with. After six weeks my hip and left leg have no pain, such a difference from the months prior!

Dr Bullock made the process of my hip replacement easy. He put my mind at easy with his explanation of every step. I highly recommend him for anyone needing a hip replacement.

By the time I was referred to Dr. Bullock I was looking at almost certain amputation of my right leg just above the knee. This was due to a severe fracture and infection of my right tibia and the infection had made it into my knee. He used a 2 stage plan to remove my knee and implant and antibiotic spacer followed by 6 weeks of IV antibiotics. Then I was fitted for the use of a robotic assistant for the precision cutting of bone (since I had lost so much due to infection) that would be needed to install my new artificial knee. The 2nd surgery and the installation of my new artificial knee was 8 weeks ago and I'm walking, moving well and back to work pretty much completely pain free. Best of all, I am off all pain medication that I had been on for the last 2-1/2 years! I couldn't be more grateful for Dr. Bullock and Marshall Orthopedics for having this type of equipment and ability right here in West Virginia!

He is amazing. Takes his time when explaining patients situations, very polite, compassionate, overall an outstanding Dr and his staff and PA, are truly wonderful..

I had knee replacement surgery in 2021 by a prominent doctor in my area, but it didn't heal right, the doctor keep saying it was my fault and wouldn't make it right, I went to therapy for 5 months twice a week and did my therapy exercise at home as instructed. Finally I went to Dr. Bullock for a second opinion and he showed me my X-rays , the knee would have never healed because it was not lined up. I suffered with this knee for 15 months. Dr. Bullock re-did my knee in Sept 2022 and it has healed perfectly. My therapy is finished and I am extremely happy with Dr. Bullock. He is a wonderful surgeon and I recommend him highly.

Dr Bullock did a hip and knee replacement on me. He was very good to explain each to my understanding and stayed with me until all my questions And concerns were addressed. I have recommended and will continue recommending him to everyone that I can.

Dr Bullock and his team are great. I had a right total knee replacement in February at Three Gables Surgery Center and am doing so much better. He and his team always takes the time to answer all my questions and concerns..no rushing you out the door. I appreciate all they have done for me….also always on time with appointments.

Dr Bullock is incredible! He has the best bedside manner. Everytime I see him I leave with a smile on my face. The nurses are great, too. And, they're all very good at following up & keeping in touch to make sure your recovery at home goes well. Easily a 10/10 if you're looking for a hip replacement.

I have already recommended Dr. Bullock to my family and friends. After leaving Dr. Bullock today, I felt so good about my progress. He showed me my X-rays and explained the before and after pictures. He said that I was walking good and he agreed with me when I told him that my scar looked good. He informed me about what I needed to do and that he would see me again in 9 weeks. I was a little concerned when I came in, but I left feeling much better about my total knee replacement.

I had my right knee replacement done by him and he and his staff did a wonderful job of following up with me. I have had no issues and would tell everyone to have him take care of your issues.

From the first time I met with Dr. Bullock, I was impressed. i went to him for a full knee replacement. He made the process very understandable, including the use of robotics. The morning of the surgery, he met with me and explained how everything was going to go. After the surgery, he again met with me and my wife and provided information about how the surgery went and what to expect going forward. He called our house the next morning to check on me. During the post surgery (8 weeks)visit, he did not hurry the visit, but, again, provided as much detailed explanation as possible, with a fantastic attitude and positive outlook. The knee replacement is going well, and if I need any further procedures, Dr. Bullock will be my first choice.

He listened to my concerns prior to the surgery and answered my questions fully. After the surgery he was very encouraging and again answered all my concerns and questions. He even added another exercise to improve my knee function.

Dr. Bullock did a very complicated surgery on my right knee.I had to have 4 different implants implanted in my knee. I knew my knee was bad but I didn't know the extent of it to the point I could have lost my leg. Dr. Bullock listen to all my concerns before and after my surgery. My Mother'Beverly had her knee surgery 3 years ago and she's the one who recommended me to Dr. Bullock. My knee replacement was done on May 24th 2021 I'm doing so good with my new knee. Dr. Bullock is a very valuable asset to Marshall Health and the orthopedic team at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He provided excellent surgical and post operative care due to a hip fracture for my mother. Superior care close to home!

Total hip replacement--in and out in one day! Care was top-notch before, during and after. Don't let your fears let you put it off. I'm back to walking many miles, cardio dance and enjoying life, without any pain from my joint, in weeks since surgery. If you have to do it, do it--what a great experience!

Walking with only a cane two days after total knee replacement surgery. Dr Bullock and his staff are great, explained everything in detail and follow up was amazing. This is a great surgeon and you will not be disappointed. He will be doing total knee replacement on my other knee in a few months and after this round of surgery I’m not feeling anxious about my other replacement. Thank you Dr Bullock for what I thought was going to be a forever recovery into a very short recovery and a lot of less pain then my replacement in 2001. I think he is God sent ,first visit took me straight back done x-rays and told me right away that he was going to take care of me and he is .Dr.Bullock don't rush you in and out takes time to talk with me to answer every question or concerns .Would highly recommend him and have !

Wow! Who would have thought that you could be in and out of surgery in one day for a total hip replacement! I was! The care before the surgery, during the surgery and after the surgery has been top-notch! Would recommend wholeheartedly. This is a professional operation! All my fears were put to rest. I went 2 years thinking my pain was from my knee. A physical therapist found the problem was my hip. Dr. Bullock was referred to me by another orthopedic doctor in which I’m grateful. Dr. Bullock took great care in explaining the procedure of how my hip would be replaced. The surgery went well and now after 3 months I actually feel great again. Dr. Bullock is great surgeon. He took his time and answered all my questions. He is very friendly as well as all his staff. I was able to get an appointment quickly and I am very pleased with my outcome. He did the robotic surgery on my knee in mid May. We are fortunate to have him in our area. I had my knee replacement on April the 12th and you have heard the old saying if it is to good to be true then it is not true but there are always exceptions rule and this is one ,Dr. B and his A team staff truly care about one thing and that is their patients from beginning to end the professionalism and quality care for their patients are beyond reproach and I sing their praises to everyone and have already recommended them to several other people .truly caring about you and putting you first as their patient and delivering quality care is certainly the number one priority for Dr. Bullock and is A team staff. Dr.Bullock was very comforting and answered all my ?’s with easy to understand answer. I’d put my hip surgery off for 10 yrs because I never had good luck with surgery’s but I decided to give Bullock a chance to fix me, well he did what he said and I wish that I would have meet him 10 yrs ago because my broken hip changed my life for the worst and since my hip surgery I’m not relying on pain pills to make it through the day. I feel great and I tell everybody that if you need surgery go see Dr. Bullock.

Dr Bullock put a knee replacement in. I went to therapy as I was suppose, but I wasn't getting better. When Dr Bullock found out that I was just being torchered, he ordered a new therapist. I started getting better right away. I would go back to Dr Bullock again. He is a top notch doctor.

Words can not express my gratitude to Dr. Bullock for repairing my botched knee replacement. A month before my first surgery I backpacked 80 miles on the Appalachian Trail with a 20-25 pound pack. I was in my late 50's. For a year after my first surgery, performed in Charleston, my knee was still swollen and very painful. I was very unstable on uneven surfaces and inclines of any kind. I had to pull my self up the stairs and had to lower and push myself up from the toilet. I did 12 weeks of physical therapy and then hired a personal trainer while my surgeon told me it was my fault. I let the leg get too week. Dr. Bullock took on look at the x-ray and said here is the problem. The spacer between top and bottom is too small. When he did the surgery to repair it, he found it was 3 sizes too small. After 6 weeks of therapy I had my life back and the range of motion on the replacement is incredible! I don't even notice it is not a real knee joint! Thanks Again Dr. Bullock!!!

He is a very good and wonderful Doctor he will listen to you and then he treats you with respect and he will make your joins well once again you just have to work with him and all of his staff. You have to push yourself with the therapy people helping you there at Cabell Huntington at the smart center. They are just wonderful to!!!

10 years ago I have my left hip replaced by Dr. Oliasharazi. I live in Charleston and made the trip to Huntington for the surgery and it was a great decision. When it was time to replace my right hip I called Dr. Oliasharazi and he was not doing hips as much and recommended Dr. Bullock. He had Dr. Bullock call me directly.Again, it was worth going to Cabell Huntington in order to be able to have Dr. Bullock do my surgery. They are so well run, so well organized, and once again I got great results. Hip replacement has come along way in the last 10 years and recovery was a piece of cake. I am very pleased with the patient care and surgery that Dr. Bullock performed on my left knee replacement. He came highly recommended. His staff was also a great asset as well. He took all the time necessary to explain the upcoming procedure and them explained it again at a follow up office visit. His friendliness, confidence, and warm personality was also important to me. He answered all my questions without hesitation or reluctance. I do not think I could have done better anywhere else. Appointment and scheduling were easy and convenient. Wait time was minimal at each visit. I got good care at the Three Gables Surgical Center, where the staff and patient care were great. I was glad that I could come home the same day as the surgery.

I had anterior hip replacement surgery in June. I walk without pain now. Dr Bullock was very congenial and knows what he is doing. I saw several hip docs prior to him and once I spoke with him, I knew what I had to do and we did it. Very thankful for the care and expertise I received from doctor and staff. Dr Matthew Bullock replaced both of my knees, one in January, the other in June. His manner and approach is more holistic than you would normally find. That encouraged me to fully participate in my recovery. Physical therapy and staying active was key. No one recovers while sitting on the couch. I appreciate the focus and enthusiasm of both Dr Bullock and his staff. Particularly during a world pandemic.

Absolutely! Not only is he a very intelligent Dr. and knows all the ins and outs of his job, he also has a personality that lets you know he cares and is easy to talk to plus he's there for you whenever you need him.

Dr. Bullock and his team are an amazing group! They are compassionate, patient and informative. I underwent an anterior right hip replacement in February. I have returned to gardening, yoga , tai chi and go up and down my 14 stairs several times on a daily basis-without any problems at all! The “hip school” that they provide before surgery was very informative and educated everyone about what to expect. This was an important piece of the plan. I would recommend him for anyone having to consider a joint replacement!
