About Matthew D Cox
Reviews for Matthew D Cox
I was referred to Dr. Cox by my PCP for ongoing hoarseness after being sick. I met with him initially on 01/19/23. During my visit, the only person who gathered any background information was the clinic assistant who also took me back to the room and pre-filled some of the office note. Dr. Cox was pleasant but quiet. Personally, I prefer a provider who I feel I can have a discussion with; I like to take an active role in my healthcare. He moved quickly without much conversation. Recently, I obtained a copy of my office note from this visit, and to my shock, the only portion written by a person was the fact-finding done by the clinic assistant. There was no impression written by the Dr of what may be the cause of my continued hoarseness. Even though our communication styles clashed, I would have considered a follow-up since my problem persists, but the lack of appropriate medical documentation prompts me to find a different group entirely.

My appointment with Dr. Cox was informative and thorough. I would definitely recommend him and the staff at Florida Otolaryngology Group

I recently had sudden hearing loss. At first I thought that Dr. Cox was helpful and understanding to my Emergent situation. I was initially given a short run of high dose steroids, which helped. Until a few weeks later when my hearing suddenly got worse. I had followed up and basically he gave me the option of injectable steroids, which he said he wouldn't do, however it was up to me. I then called back within the week, basically in tears because I could not hear and my career was at stake. I asked the office to see about another round of high dose steroids, as they helped the first time. Bilateral sudden hearing loss is an emergent situation. The office "nurse" as she called herself, and the office manager treated me as if I was a drug seeker. They told me I needed to have my HR department accommodate me and that Dr. Cox refused to give me more steroids, and at that time not even injectable. The office manager was very rude and told me my hearing is not coming back and seek another DR
Lack of concern for my hearing loss which is an emergent situation! His lack of concern has delayed my treatment! However I am now with a new ENT and a Rheumatologist only thanks to my own experience in medicine and the ability to understand my own issues! Not even sure why he is in practice! Clearly he needs to read up and research sudden hearing loss due to an autoimmune ear disease! THANK GOD I did NOT stop with him and seeked other advice! Now I have a chance of recovering my hearing loss!
Everyone says their doctor is “the best.” I was told by my PCP I was lucky to get in to see Dr. Cox because he was “the best.” I never write reviews, but felt the need because after seeing Dr. Cox and experiencing his level of care for myself during my office visits and surgery, I can honestly say he is “the best!” I would never see another ENT in Orlando, FL.
Doctor Mathew Cox is a fantastic physician. Visited him several times and most recently provided almost immediate comfort for me. Sinuses were out of control for several days but within the same day I was feeling much better. Thank you Doctor Cox. He is definitely very high on all my Doctors. Best ENT I ever been treated by. I recommend him to anyone. A 5 Star physician.
He performed a tonsillectomy on me, I am 18 and was very nervous going under anesthesia for my first time. Dr. Cox made me feel very safe about going into surgery and he is honestly just a really sweet soul with a great and funny personality. Thank you Dr. Cox for being the only ENT specialist who has listened to my troubles with my tonsils, and decided to take action.
After driving 50 minutes in a storm I was 15 mins late for appt and Dr. Mathew Cox just stood there as the secretary cancelled my appointment. Needed 950$ MRI images read for Accoustic Neuroma. Now have to go through all the trouble of finding another ENT because people donât want to work until the end of their shift! Thank you much for the aggravation Dr Cox hope your happy you lost a patient! And please donât respond with BS. Itâs exactly as I stated it. Donât waste your time with him.
Dr. Cox saved my hearing and my life as a professional musician. He was the second ENT dr. I went to after a middle ear infection, he gave me hope of a recovery and I truly felt like he cared about my situation. I will always be grateful and can not praise him any higher. I recovered fully.

I'm recommending Dr. Cox to a friend. Dr. Cox has more knowledge than the other Doctor that I saw. My Doctor recommended Dr. Cox to me thank goodness. Dr. Cox is a specialist in his field.
I was in Florida for the winter and in Jan 2019, I completely lost hearing in my right ear. I luckily found Dr Cox's office by searching for ENTs in the area. I was told after my appointment that he was the best. After the aggressive treatment he recommended, my hearing was fully restored. I truly believe that if I had not found Dr Cox, I would not have gotten my hearing back. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND HIM!!! Jim Norton - Stillwater, MN
I have to admit I was a little apprehensive because of his age LOL I was put immediately at ease when he came into the room and we spoke. He listened patiently as I tend to talk too much sometimes, maybe all the time but he listened and then treated my ears conservatively which I was very thankful for , but also with an understanding of all my underlying issues that could have been contributing to my not being able to hear clearly. I would highly recommend him , without hesitation!
After suffering from a blocked ear for over a month and totally frustrated with ENT doctors in the Villages, I researched UNT doctors in Orlando. I met with him yesterday and he drained my ear through the eardrum and in less than 10 minutes he drained the fluid behind the drum with immediate relief. He indicated that he has performed this procedure more than 400 times! He was extremely pleasant and I would highly recommend him!
I am a 66 yr old female who has suffered with Menieres Disease for a year...I was diagnosed by another physician about 9 month ago...symptoms have gotten progressively worse the past 6 months...balance issues...aural fullness..vertigo...I had received steroid injection which gave some temp relief...Dr Cox was recommend to me by another ENT..sort of last chance option ..he is thorough....bedside manner a bit harsh. ..recommended I have Gentamicin Injections...we shall see..haven't decide
Never had a positive thing to say about doctors until I met him. Excellent Doctor. He is very knowledgeable, kind, through, patient(as I ask him a ton of questions every visit) and human. Not a stuck up Dr. who's looking to turn patients as quick as possible to make a killing($) while sacrificing quality care. Glad I found him! I will recommend to anyone who ever asks me for an ENT.
Dr Cox is an excellent doctor! He took me in on short notice while I was on a trip and had to take the plane again very soon . Service was excellent , very human ! Thanks a million! Would recommend ++
Dr. Cox listened to my concerns, treated me with respect, asked very good clinical diagnostic questions. He is a good Doctor. X. LIU
Florida Otolaryngology Group PA. There I met Dr. Matthew Cox who was compassionate and understanding with me, we tried different avenues In the attempt of finding a solution and an end to my neck pain, it was decided that the BAHA, that was still attached to my skull needed to be removed. May 8th I went in for surgery, Dr. Cox not only removed the BAHA he was able to fix the dent on the side of my head. As of yet no more neck pain. Dr Matthew Cox gets 5 stars across the board from me .
Dr Cox is absolutely amazing! I made an appointment to have my perforated eardrum looked at. That's when I found out I had a cholesteatoma in my left ear. I was scared about surgery and Dr. Cox went above and beyond to put my mind at ease. He answered all of my questions beforehand. My surgery went well. He saw me numerous times for followups after my surgery and need made me feel rushed. I am now 3months post op and completely healed! I cannot thank him enough for being so kind! He is the best!

Dr. Cox is the "Best of the Best". He exemplifies what all patients are seeking in a physician...knowledge, compassion, patience and the rare quality of admitting is he does not know the answer he will contact an expert to get that answer. A conversation with Dr. Cox quickly reveals his enthusiasm and genuine love of his chosen profession. I highly recommend him as an outstanding specialist.
Absolutely the best doctor I have been to in my entire life! I’ve had a long history of war issues & surgery. You can’t find a better doctor. Kind, understanding, patient, attentive! Highly proffessional, yet easy to talk to too!

Dr. Cox is one of the most patient and compassionate physicians I’ve ever met. After seeing my PCP several times and another ENT regarding a terrible case of strep throat that lasted for weeks, Dr. Cox was the only one who helped me. His bedside manner makes you feel completely comfortable and he takes the time to make sure he answers all of your questions. If you or anyone you know needs an ENT, Dr. Cox should be your first call. He’s the BEST!
Want to start off by saying Dr. Cox is amazing! He is without a doubt the only doctor that I have met personally that seems to care and concern for his patient. I had a surgery done not too long ago about a month now and I am so relieved that everything went good. From the start I could tell Dr. Cox loved his job. From the moment he spoke with me I knew he was the one I wanted to perform my surgery which was the removal of a Cholesteatoma. Thank you Dr. Cox So happy to have you as my Dr.

During my appointment, Dr Cox seemed more focused on moving to his new job in Florida than helping me with my medical problem. After the appointment my short disability insurance contacted me multiple times stating they hadn't received Dr Cox's notes so they could review my case. I used the UAMS MyChart to repeatedly request the Dr information that my insurance needed. On my next visit Dr Cox made a note in my chart that I only cared about my disability insurance & not recovering. This isn't tru

Dr Cox took time to answer all my questions ( there were lots!), explained everything in depth and didn't make me feel rushed. I am looking forward to working with him in the future and would recommend him highly.
