Matthew Brent Doppelt

Dr. Doppelt is the most meticulous and expert skin doctor that I have met in 35 years of needing routine services from dermatologists. He has caught potential major potential problems in the very early stages. I feel very fortunate to be his patient.

Dr. Doppelt is amazing. He was the only doctor out of 4 others that I had seen that took the time to find a solution to my issue. I would highly recommend him and his staff. Everyone including his office staff, I found to be very helpful.

This is one fine dermatology office. I am intimately familiar with the practice of medicine and was grateful to have found this physician. Dr Doppelt was outstanding. He treated my dermatologic issue with finesse and finality to a degree that exceeds similar practices. All that most patients typically hope for. Unfortunately, I was an emotional basket case when I met the doctor and his staff. This was secondary to 1) the loss of my husband 2) an insidious hypo-thyroid issue that I was unaware had become critical. Emotional instability was over whelming and 3) I was recovering from a near fatal fire in which my home burned to the ground in the Gatlinburg. Bottom line I was a mess. In spite of my emotional instability, I was treated with respect and kindness that comes only from a physician and staff who have insight and appreciation of ‘the patient’. Thank you Dr Doppelt and staff. Kathy As unfortunate as it is, I called to make an appointment with Dr Doppelt. I was told that they no longer wanted to have me as a patient. I was in shock; never been told this by any professional. I assumed the above was remedied as I had spoken to and thanked the nurse. I was wrong. I guess their treatment of me at the office was just fake. I don’t understand. I am certain that the physician knows nothing about this scenario. This sounds like a back office ‘nursing staff’ issue. What a nightmare. I will add NOW that the specifics of the issue was MONEY. I paid for three appointments and thought it was two. I was confused and they reimbursed me for one appointment and were angry about it. That was it!! No dirty words. And they dismissed me as a patient. Their approach was to wait until I called for an appointment and tell me I was no longer welcome? DID THEY HAVE MY NAME NEXT TO THE PHONE? We’re they awaiting my call? There were at least two years between appointments. As a retired physician I would hope the physician would have called directly. I never fired a patient in my career - Hard to do in the ER. Kathy at Southeastern Dermatology did a lip enhancement for me in February 2022. Less than 2 months later some of the filler had migrated below my lower lip line on one side. I called and made an appointment for a follow up with Kathy. During the follow up visit, she was rude, dismissive and argumentative, when I discussed that I wasn’t happy with the results of the procedure. She offered options for treating the filler migration, and we discussed an additional appointment for more filler. She wanted to charge $300+ to do this, on top of the $750 I had already paid. After I challenged her on wanting to charge me for her mistake of an additional $300+, she agreed not to charge me. Poor injection technique leads to migration, according to the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Kathy’s attitude was unprofessional and it wasn’t about making the customer happy. Never did she say “I’m sorry you feel this way” or “we want you to be happy with the results”.

I called to make a new patient appt. My wife goes here and raves about it. I have never encountered such a rude person making my appt. Her name was Kelly. I told her I needed Accutaine {which is for acne} then she asked me why did I need the appt, did I have acne? No, I just want to take the medication for the fun of it! She clearly was in a bad mood. The staff at Southeastern Dermatology are absolutely wonderful! They treat you as if you are a family member instead of a patient and that is what makes them so fabulous!

I have been a patient of Dr Doppelt for over 15 years. He and his medical team have always gone above and beyond in their patient care. Even now that he is much more busy with a higher client volume, Dr Doppelt still takes time to address all questions and concerns without making you make another appointment when able to... Even aesthetics! I was seen very quickly after check in and Jessica and Melissa were overly helpful and attentive to my questions and concerns. Thank you for amazing care in these uncertain times!

I am 55 years old, have rosacia, and being fair skinned who didn’t realize for years the importance of sunscreen, I have precancerous areas particularly on my face. I have skin checks twice a year. This group from Dr. Doppelt, Deborah, Mary, Kathy, nurses, and all the wonderful ladies who take care of you coming in and going, are the BEST. I highly recommend this dermatology office. I’m always extremely comfortable in any questions or concerns I have or procedures they perform. Go see them. Cannot recommend them enough!!

All the way from the first person to which I talked to the last, everyone was pleasant and welcoming. The nurse assistant and Debbie were concerned about my wellbeing and comfort. I've been going top Southeastern Dermatology for several years and they have always been thorough in their exams and treatments.

Moved back after being gone for 5 yrs. Large, really large skin cancer on lower leg. Dr. Doppelt had the answer for treatment. I first started seeing him when he set up practice at Baptist where I worked as well. What an enlightening experience to have a physician who is trustworthy!

If his front desk girl Kelly is any reflection of his office, I won't be back nor ref people to them. She was very rude. Don't let her South African accent fool you! Not sure how the doctor is, my wife said he's great!

Had 2 visits with Dr Doppelt. My first, was a full body check, I have DSAP & had skin cancer. He seemed more worried about cosmetic stuff that I didn't care about than why I was there. Second, I sat for over a hour while a woman who wanted a procedure done showed up late, then was "squeezed in." Some how the woman thought we could her her doing this at the front desk. Dr gave Rx that he finally remembered the name to, then went to pick up & it was the same thing was having bad reaction to.

This is one of the best experiences I have ever had with a doctor's office. The office is very professional, the people are very professional and everyone really knows what they are doing. I highly recommend Dr. Doppelt and his Terrific Team!

Having worked with Healthcare Professionals for more than 25 years, to say that Southeastern Dermatology is impressive would be an understatement. The staff is professional, caring, sincere and they take the time needed to explain everything. The office is very attractive and it reflects a culture of “Guest Astonishment!” I went with high expectations and they were certainly exceeded. If you need anything Southeasrern Dermatology provides, you will be glad you went to them.

Dr. Doppelt is amazing! For years I considered chin augmentation/chin implant until I meet Dr. Doppelt. He was able to give me the results I was looking for without surgery but with injectables instead! The results were AMAZING! I could not have been happier! It actually reshaped my face giving me a more contoured look! I even had someone ask me if I had lost weight after looking at my before and after photos! Love that the doctor does the injections himself. Dr. Doppler staff makes you feel warm and welcome. Best place in town to go for all your cosmetic needs.

I never visited a Dermatologist when I was younger BUT Dr. Doppelt has been a real God-send! His fund of knowledge is very encouraging and really inspires confidence in approaching treatment as a team. He has gone above and beyond to pursue the right options for me! Dr. Doppelt's staff have always been very professional and courteous. I recently had a body check for any cancerous moles. Debbie was thorough and explained all of my questions. Mary has been so helpful in assisting me with the correct skin care treatment. And she is always sharing new techniques and products. She is awesome! Excellent Service Results Exceeded My Expectations Dr. Doppelt and Mary Huggins went above and beyond on my recent appointment. A few concerning issues were resolved with an immediate in office procedure and I have made my appointment for a tattoo removal. Mary's assistance made me realize I could remove a "mistake " from 20 years ago and feel like the new me. Thank you SDC team for putting me first

On a recent visit, Dr. Doppelt provided treatment for some "worrisome" skin issues. Apart from the prompt, thorough, and professional manner in which I was treated, I received notice in less than 24 hours that I had nothing to worry about. He did a shave biopsy on what he said was squamous cell skin cancer, which turned out to be stage II melanoma. Re-staged to stage III melanoma by oncologist because the shave biopsy only took off the surface of the cancer and left a large amount of cancer still under my skin. After 7 months, I received a voicemail from his office, We still have a spot that we have not treated from back in July of last year. This is the first time that I was informed that I have another spot.

Dr. Doppelt and his staff are incredibly attentive. Dr. Doppelt took the time to listen to my concerns regarding my acne and "mystery moles." He did a through skin exam which I have never had before. I am really pleased with the office visit and the outcome. My skin looks amazing!
