I switched dentists to start seeing Dr. Turay last year and have now been in for a number of cleanings. I have been continually impressed with the quality of service, attention to detail, and comfortable atmosphere at each visit. Every person in the office has been professional and a pleasure to interact with. It looks like plenty of the other reviews mention Dr. Turay's own welcoming demeanor and quality of service (which I completely agree with), but I urge you to not overlook the welcoming demeanor and quality of service of every other person that works there as well. I don't often go to the dentist, but now I might! Dr. Turay is so personable and an absolute delight! He's great at explaining things and making you feel comfortable. He makes you feel so welcome and makes sure to pronounce tricky names correctly—always appreciated. He really takes his time and cares for each and every patient, clearly not trying to rush you or anything. Although my optometric practice is in Salt Lake City, Utah, my wife and I also have a home here in Portland. It was during a brief stay that I experienced a chipped tooth. The soonest my Utah dentist (of 30 years) could see me was a month away. At the recommendation of our neighbors, Dr. Turay was happy to see me on short notice, providing temporary relief. I was so impressed with his professionalism, quiet confidence, attention to detail, and warm, congenial nature that I knew the services of my Utah dentist were no longer required. Today I received a temporary crown from Dr. Turay and will return in a few weeks to complete the procedure. Equally impressive was each and every member of his dental staff. His assistant, whose name escapes me (apologies, but maladroit and aging neurons explain my failing memory), seemed to anticipate Matthew's each and every need. Consummate professionals, they are. If you're looking for a perfectionist - who also happens to be kind and amiable - then Dr. Matthew C. Turay and his gracious staff are certain to satisfy your dental needs. Dr. Turay himself is a nice person, as well as an excellent dentist. This is also reflected in his staff who are universally helpful, caring and upbeat.

At Dr. Turay’s office there is a culture of kindness and healing. That culture begins with Dr. Turay, himself. His quiet competence is without pretense. You are greeted warmly in the waiting room where you are unlikely to wait very long. The entire staff puts you at ease. Dr. Turay will listen to you- really listen. My family and I have been going to Dr. Turay for my entire life. He is professional, friendly and a great dentist. Most importantly he is genuinely a good man that cares about you and your health. Please see him if you are looking for a Dentist.

Best dentist I have ever had. Most of them are after your money and will tell you stories and lies to try and talk you into expensive treatments you don't even need just so they can make money. Not the case here! Dr. Turay and his staff really CARE about you and take the time to treat you and make you feel comfortable and welcome in their clinic. They are gentle and reasonably priced. I wish I could stay with him but unfortunately we moved to the east coast. I highly recommend this Dr!!!!!! Best dentist I have ever had. Dr. Turay is the best dentist I have ever had in my entire life. He is honest, explains everything well and his work is awesome. I look forward to going to see him because of who he is, his sense of humor and great staff. I recommend him highly.
