Dr. Wood was the Anesthesiologist assigned to the day of my surgery (September 5, 2019). His attitude, along with his pre-op nurse who read and carried out his orders for I.V. and prepping me, was one of "I know what's best for you...", and "I assume that you will want a preparatory Lidocaine injection prior to your I.V. stick because OTHER patients are OK with it." My discussion with the pre-op nurse during my intake questionnaire for 45 minutes was pointed with my abject FEAR of any needles while I'm still awake! Her 'faux' compassionate attitude never transmitted my concerns and fears to Dr. Wood!! Both she and Dr. Wood just ASSUMED that I was OK with lots more needles. His (and her) superiority attitude was evident when she carried out his order to stick me with Lidocaine just before slamming me with the I.V. (less than 10 seconds between each stick)!! Anesthesia's comment at the inquiry I demanded: "patients can opt out of any drug if they want". If I had only known!!!
