Great service very informative and quick in and out

I have played soccer, run all my life. A few years ago I suffered an injury during a game and tore my hip labrum. I visited Dr. Tyorkin afterwards and he recommended an X-ray in his office. X-rays cannot detect cartilage damage like a torn labrum. His diagnosis was ‘You will have some problems in the future’. He Never specified what problems I might have nor did he recommend an MRI. I kept on playing and had hip pain for a week after every game and after many years I decided to visit the HSS which did an MRI exam and correctly diagnosed the issue. What was supposed to be a labrum tear a few years ago and an arthroscopic surgery of 30min and quick recovery, it ended up with hip resurfacing surgery of 1.5 hrs and very long recovery. I am shocked to see a smart doctor not being able to diagnose a clear hip issue and recommending an X-ray for a cartilage damage! I have played soccer, run all my life. Accompanied my father earlier this year, but truly not a positive experience. The front desk assistant was snappy, the doctor, who also was not too pleasant, rushed my dad's appointment, yet we were the only people in the office at around 2:30 PM. The office never got back with any results or follow-ups and Dr. Tyorkin was dismissive over knee pain that my dad is still having more than 5 months later. Thoughtful explanations of what I am experiencing and a clear game plan to get better. I would highly recommend Dr Tyorkin.

I paid a visit to Dr. Maxim Tyorkin’s office on October 2, 2019 with a knee issue I had been struggling with for weeks. I had informed the doctor about the excruciating pain I had been experiencing that kept me up at night. The doctor sent me to get an X-ray taken on my knee and hip, which I did immediately after the appointment. Before leaving the office, I paid my co-pay and asked the staff at the front desk whether or not I should make another appointment for next week to get the results and doctor’s further opinion. To my surprise, I was informed no appointment would be necessary and that the doctor would call me next week with the results and treatment options. Sine the X-ray was just across the street from the office, I decided to stop by again to see if maybe the doctor would be able to call me the same day since the results would be ready. I was told he would leave before that would happen and, once again, told he would contact me over the phone with no appointment necessary. The second visit I was met with both the front staff and the office manager, whose name I think was Doris. A week later, on Tuesday, October 8, I was called by the front desk staff to ‘confirm an appointment’ that was setup on Wednesday - exactly 24 hours later. Confused, I told them about the conversation we had and how I was told the appointment would not be necessary, to which she replied, “Oh, yes, I remember you. You came by two times when the manager was here. I don’t know why they said you did not have to have an appointment. The only way you can get the results and treatment options is if you come in tomorrow.” I was vexed by the fact that an appointment was made without me ever being informed about it, nor ever asking me whether or not I would be available. Instead of apologizing and trying to reschedule, I was spoken to like a lesser human, being told to come in if I want to receive any treatment. I then asked to talk to the manager, slowly getting furious. When the manager picked up the phone, all she said was, “I don’t know who you are. I have never spoken to you. The doctor cannot give you the results over the phone, it is against the law. I don’t care whether you are available to take the day off work or not. If you need treatment, come in tomorrow and stop complaining,” after which she hung up the phone. Now, I have been in the medical business for almost 20 years. I have plenty of experience dealing with customers and I, most certainly, know the law. The doctor could ask me for my SSN to confirm my identity, after which the results could have easily been given to me. Plus, my physics already requested the results of the X-ray, so I only needed to be scheduled for the proper procedure with the orthopedist. Though this part is not the most upsetting. First, I was misinformed. Then, they scheduled an appointment without me. When I said there was no way I could come in, I was screamed at instead being apologized to. I told them I had to request a day off a week in advance, to which they simply replied they did not care. No one on the other line ever attempted to reconcile or tried to schedule another appointment. I was spoken to like they were doing me a favor. Typically, I do not write reviews, but this truly deserved one. After I told them about the unbearable pain I was experiencing, the inability to come in on one-day notice, I was screamed at like a child. Due to these circumstances, I cannot say anything about the doctor himself, but the staff are the worst I have ever come across. Do yourself a favor and find a doctor with staff that know how to speak, not bark, and trust me, you will thank me. I began going to Dr. Tyorkin years ago when I first began long distance running. Dr. Tyorkin is not only very professional but knowledgeable in the field of sports medicine. He understands the importance of continuing in your sport while also providing excellent medical advice. I highly recommend this practice for orthopedic care.

Horrible service. Horrible front desk staff.

The staff was very professional and courteous. The only downside is the place was very crowded. Could it be that they are just that good!!!??? Time will tell.

I had a very pleasant experience during diagnosis, surgery and post-op.

Dr Tyorkin was extremely professional, thorough, and attentive to my needs and concerns. He spent close to one hour with me which is a testiment to his dedication and caring. Highly recommend !

You will never get in touch with anybody here. Doctor didn't follow up on my MRI's, nobody is ever attending the phones and forwarded calls get no replies either. Can't believe they are in business with this kind of service.

Dr. Tyorkin fixed my rotator cuff issue and I can finally move without pain again. I found him after sorting through several surgeons. Dr. Tyorkin specializes in shoulders. I recommend him highly.

Had surgery on my arm. They took care of everything. I didn't have to run all over the place. Although far from where I live, I recieved excellent care and was worth the trip. would use Dr. Tyorkin again

I went in for an appointment two months ago, and received an MRI the week after. I was told I would receive a call in regards to my MRI results, but to no avail. I have called five times, left messages, and when I finally get through, the receptionist tells me Maxim will only be in on Monday. I call Monday, he is not available. I have an injured meniscus, am in pain, yet I cannot do a damn thing about it due to being neglected by this office. DO NOT waste your money here. I went in for an appointment two months ago, and received an MRI the week after. I was told I would receive a call in regards to my MRI results, but to no avail.
