NEW YORK -- A Manhattan woman is facing legal troubles after posting a bad review of a local doctor online. Michelle Levine told CBS New York she's already spent close to $20,000 fighting the million-dollar suit, which accuses her of defamation, libel and causing emotional distress. "After that I just got a bill for an ultrasound and a new patient visit, whatever that means, and it was not billed as an annual, and I wrote a review about it," she said. Levine said that after getting sued she took down all her reviews, but Dr. still wants her to pay around $1 million in damages plus legal fees. "It's been kind of a nightmare," the defendant said. I really can't say enough about Dr. Mehul Dixit M.D., honestly. He was a great asset to Florida Hospital in Orlando, FL but to their loss, he is no longer practicing there. I can't see them finding anyone with as wonderful as he was/is. His bedside manner is excellent and he really cares about his patients. We are blessed to have known him and his staff. He took wonderful care of our daughter and we are so thankful!

Dr Dixit has treated my stepson for his nephrotic syndrome since taking over the pediatric nephrology department at University Hospital in Jackson, MS 7 or 8yrs ago. He has been nothing but professional and polite. I highly recommend Dr Dixit if your child needs the services of a pediatric nephrologist. We met Dr. Dixit almost 9 years ago after the birth of our daughter in Orlando, FL. When she was 4 days old Dr. Dixit delivered the news to us that our first child had been born without functioning kidneys and had a 50/50 chance to live to her first birthday. On that day, we began a wonderful relationship with the most dedicated, sincere, professional and skilled physician we've ever worked with. Dr. Dixit was as committed to doing everything in his power to keep our daughter alive and thriving as we were. Dr. Dixit always spent all the time we needed to be certain that we understood every facet of her care. He always explained all threatment that she would need. While Dr. Dixit was clearly focused primarily on caring for our daughter, he also took time to build a relationship with us such that we have full trust in him. We have missed him dearly since he left the Orlando area. There will never be another Dr. Dixit for us, he is one of a kind in the best possible way. I have had the privilege of working closely along side Dr. Dixit as a nurse at the hospital. I cannot begin to convey the absolute respect and admiration I have for him as a physician. He always handles himself in the most professional manner. Having a sick child is one of the scariest things a parent can face and he always takes time to educate patients/parents on whatever illness their child may be facing. He always makes himself available to his patients and their families to answer any questions or concerns. He is a highly respected physician not only within the medical community but also with his patients. If my child were ever in need of a pediatric nephrologist he would be the only one I would trust to care for my child. I have worked with and known Dr. Mehul Dixit for almost 6 years. He is always professional and interacts with his patients well. He cares for the wellbeing of his patients and their families. He is caring and devoted to helping his patients and their families receive the care that they deserve. Being one of three pediatric nephrologists in the state of MS, he is well respected by his peers, patients, their families and his staff. If ever one of my children needed a pediatric nephrologist, you can bet that he would be the first that I would call, no matter where he is practicing. My daughter and I first met Dr. Mehul Dixit and his awesome team a little over 7 years ago. My daughter had become very sick and was transported to BCH where she was diagnosed with FSGS. The shock of this was devastating to us both, but God sent us a wonderful doctor named Dr. Dixit that helped us go through that hard time and through her transplant. He is our favorite, don't know where my child would be today if it wasn't for him doing his best for her. I will always highly recommended him.
