Amazing doctor who genuinely cares about his patients; Dr. Mitike has been the only reason I am able to even get out of bed sometimes! Highly recommended if you have any issues with sleeping too much or not at all.

I've always been really happy with Dr. Mitike. Due to insurance concerns, I temporarily switched to another sleep specialist for a couple years, and regretted it. The other one wasn't attentive, and had a very holier-than-thou attitude; Dr. Mitike listens and answers my questions. After dealing with enough of the other doctor's condescension and absolute non-help, I went back to Dr. Mitike. He wasted no time getting me an up-to-date sleep study and getting to the bottom of my hypersomnia. I've always been really happy with Dr. Mitike. 0 out of 5 stars. So the last time I went in for an office visit (12/19) his nurse came in and said he is “on his way.” What? It’s now 25 minutes past my appointment time. He arrives and says to me “I looked at the clock and thought it was 7:30, but it was really 8:30am. Really? My next visit was supposed to be March 2020 (I bought a new cpap machine [online, to avoid the outrageous markup from the medical supply company they recommended I use] and he wanted to see the data after a few months) but the pandemic delayed that visit until late July. Unfortunately, (mostly for me as this didn’t affect Dr. Mitike’s quality of sleep ONE BIT) in early July I was on vacation with my family for 10 days in northern Michigan. The water reservoir on my cpap broke and the machine wouldn’t work. So the first night (Thursday) of our vacation I could not sleep. Not a wink! As soon as the office opened up I called and spoke to Melanie (?) his nurse and explained the situation. I needed a doctors order to get the $15 reservoir from a local medical goods provider. She understood my need and said she would fax the order to the provider once Dr. Mitike signed it. I reiterated to her that I was in Michigan and it was now Friday and I would not be able to sleep for 2 more nights unless Dr. Mitike signs this order and the provider receives it by end of business. After calling back several times that day and only talking to Melanie once (the other times she just sent my call to voicemail), I finally got a call back from her after the provider closed for the weekend. She told me the doctor finally signed the order. A little (or, a lot) late though. I told the nurse I was able to find another provider in Michigan that agreed to sell me that $15 piece of plastic without a doctor order (I was basically crying, and begging them to do so, since I was obviously sleep deprived and almost “drunk-like”). I then told her I wanted Dr. Mitike to call me personally so I could discuss his lack of caring and apathy for my situation and she basically told me it was unlikely he would call. Well. He didn’t. So I will find another doctor. When I questioned the nurse why he didn’t sign the order until the end of the day (too late to help me), she stated “I told him the situation, and that’s all I can do. Dr. Mitike is the best doctor I have ever had for treating my RLS. Very knowledgeable and listens to my concerns.
