Dr Fretzin is outstanding. Easy to talk to. Takes his time explaining his finding and treatment options. Went in for shingles and he spotted Basel Cell Carcinoma on my forehead. Glad I see this terrific Doctor.

My first dermatologist was Dr. David Fretzin back in the old Park Ridge offices = a careful, caring father-like doctor. I a so glad to have his son, Michael, as my current doctor for all things skin-related. This dermatological expert has actually saved my life once by identifying a malignant melanoma (among the myriad moles I have all over my upper body) and monitoring the process of removal and follow-up through the expert referrals (oncologist and plastic surgeon). Every time I see Dr. Fretzin, he is thorough, kind, friendly, and reassuring... The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From The Tree!

Great experience

I have been a patient of Dr Fretzin for over 20 years and he has provided outstanding care throughout the entire time I have seen him. I certainly appreciate Dr Fretzin's approach to treating his patients and value him as an excellent physician that I can trust and count on. Dr. Fretzin took the easiest and quickest route for him in my procedure, which caused me extreme pain for more than three months. He barely gave me any instructions on how to take care of the wound post procedure!!! and the few instructions he gave me ended up causing an infection in the area and great pain. I had to go to another doctor because of what he did. I visited him with a slight sting in the bottom of my foot, but walked out with a huge problem 20 times worse. I had to miss work, gym, and could barely walk. I was limping for more than three months, for something that should have taken less than two weeks! If you want a doctor that will do exactly what you request, regardless of the sanctity of your request. and who will not give you enough instructions on post procedure care. and who just wants to move to the next patient as fast as possible, even if that meant taking shortcuts that will prove painful and take many times the amount of time, pain, suffering and money to heal. Dr. Fretzin is your guy!!! I visited Dr. Fretzin with a suspicion of a small wart at the bottom of my foot, it had started to sting, he told me it was a small corn, and removed the hard skin. However, based on irrelevant past wart experiences, I wanted to surgically remove it to minimize the probability of it occurring again (a naive decision from me, but I am not the one who went to medical school !). without any debate or discussion, Dr. Fretzin quickly surgically removed it. a couple of stitches would have solved the problem and the wound would have healed in two weeks. But he cauterized the wound instead (easier for the doctor, but extremely worse for the patient!!) which made it 20 times worse. He barely gave me any instructions on how to take care of the wound, even gave me wrong long term instructions, which I followed, but caused the situation to escalate. and I had to see another doctor to resolve the problem, which took three and a half months for something that should have been resolved on the spot, without the need for a procedure. Very personable and caring

If you are considering Dr. Fretzin for cosmetic reasons, you may be in the right place. If you have a dermatology related issue, I would recommend looking to another professional. I saw Dr. Fretzin for the better part of 20 years and he administered high dosages of steroids for treatment of my eczema. The treatment was effective when my condition was badly inflamed, but STEROIDS are not meant to be used as a long term solution. When I attempted to have conversations about preventive maintenance, he was very closed minded and rude. I was told, when I brought up questions about diet, if I wanted to "diagnose myself on the internet" I could "leave the office". Once my hair started falling out I found another doctor. it was a traumatizing experience. If you are considering Dr. Fretzin for cosmetic reasons, you may be in the right place. I consulted Dr. Fretzin about two year ago for eczema on my palm. I had eczema over past five years and saw three dermatologist but it didn't get any better. Dr. Fretzin first prescription worked!!. It tells about his expertise. I am very happy and thankful to Dr. Fretzin

Dr . Fretzin has been my dermatologist for many years . at my age of 87 years & being treated by how many doctors in my lifetime ? Doctor Fretzin is the best I have had . knew exactly the ailment & how to cure . would highly recommend to family & friends .

Dr.Fretzin is by far,one of the best doctors in the Northshore. I found a doctor that listens & spends the time necessary to help you during your appointment He never rushes u out the door. Dr. Fretzin’s mild manner is refreshing & he is an Extremely intelligent man. I happily refer all my friends & family to this wonderful doctor.

I had one negative experience in this office and I ask the friendly staff to see another doctor with a rash on my behind which I had treated for a while with several ointments but no success so I had to see a doctor. I brought the ointment along and I was told to keep using it but I did for a long period already and tried further, no success. My Medicare paid but what can I do but withhold my co payment as I wasn't happy for a 2nd time with the 'wandering' doctors. Now it is in collection, $62.

Dr. Fratzin is great!! He?s very experience. I like his approach ? short, fast, and quick to the point. Find him to be very personable, confident, and highly effective. He help resolved an incorrect treatment from another doctor. His treatment yielded quick result. His medical staffs are very professional, comforting, and helpful. Front desk was just as friendly. I felt lucky to be his patient and my whole family will be on his book now.

I'd recommend Dr. Fretzin for any dermatology procedure.

Dr. Fretzin is terrific! Nice guy, and very knowledgeable. He takes the time to explain the treatment, asks questions, LISTENS, and shows compassion. My son's acne was cleared up beautifully and my daughter's treatment is going great, as well.
