DR HASLAM IS A GREAT RADIOLOGIST. A RADIOLOGISTS' JOB IS TO INTERPRET DIAGNOSTIC EXAMS NOT TELLING PATIENTS RESULTS. IT IS THE PRIMARY CARE OR REFERRING PHYSICIAN THAT ORDERS THE EXAM RESPONSIBILITY TO CALL THE PATIENT WITH RESULTS.
W/ HX of breast cancer in the family my 23 y/o was anxious about her ultrasound appt. to diagnose a breast lump she'd noticed.I accompanied her to the appt,The diagnostician was neutral in expression but mentioned several times the Radiologist would come in after he read her results. Apparently she was undeserving of his time. Dr. Haslam did not deliver the news personally he thought her lump was only that, a lump. A warm hand on the shoulder to reassure a young lady would have gone far.
