Dr. Michael Hoffer performed stapedectomy to both of my ears. I highly recommend him as a doctor because he has a very special talent for such a difficult implant that goes inside such a small space. Almost right after my surgery my hearing was completely cured in fact I was able to hear a lot more. He is a professional and provides excellent care. His office made sure they answered all of my questions and concerns. thank you very much Dr. Hoffer. My recommendation to all patients who have to go through with this surgery: 1. The time of recovery is very different for each person. 2. In my specific case the tinnitus recovery has been slow (maybe due to my genetic characteristics ) but the recovery is now slowly progressing. 3. (disclaimer) i am not authorized to give a medical diagnoses but in my opinion (consult a doctor first) If your tinnitus persists you will have to resort to some type sedative to help you sleep and avoid stressing. 4. I had surgery with him on June, 2019,he promised me to recovery my hearing that I loss 35 years ago, I told him 28 times I had a nerve on my inner ear. He said is would be ok. When I went to Bascom Palmer to have the surgery for 2 hours I wake up in the recovery room. And the staff told me could not do the surgery because the nerve was there and he couldn't put the implant.he said to see him in his office in two weeks. He sent me to do an audiology test. I asked him why? I told him why I would do a test if you didn't do the implant. I left upset and I received bills that I need to pay something I didn't do. My insurance company told me to hire a lawyer, but it's too expensive. Now, they put me in collections. They are a bunch of crooks. I was able to schedule a same-day appt (during the COVID-time) with Dr. Hoffer for what ended up being an ear infection that was causing me way too much discomfort and intermittent pain. Dr. Hoffer & the attending resident provided me with thorough care, clear explanations of the problem & how to alleviate it, and while I was there checked my other unaffected ear and cleaned out too many years of earwax. I left knowing the proper next steps, with the prescription called into my CVS, a follow-up appt scheduled for next week, & feeling very confident that I received grade A+ care...I highly recommend Dr. Hoffer & the entire Univ. of Miami ENT department :)

Horrible. Had a serious ear problem and he was the second ent I saw. He spent maybe 5 minutes with me and then told me I needed to see a pain management specialist. Shocking to say the least
