Worst Doctor ever. Very Rude and literally and asshole.

Dr. Kaup treated my 83-year-old athletic father for an infected knee replacement, last night. He was efficient, bright, to the point. Dr. Kaup went the extra mile to find The appropriate hospital to treat his case. He was transferred to Columbia two hours later to be treated. Had he not acted as swiftly as he did, the outcome would not be good. Thank you, so much!

I had an emergency visit on Feb 3rd, 2020 and was treated by Dr. Kaup. My injury was to a finger, where I had accidentally cutoff the pad of my middle finger. The doctor and staff were very attentive and responsive. Dr Kaup also consulted a plastic surgeon/hand specialist to ensure the best procedure to re-attach the portion of the finger cut off. He tacked it as recommended and I can report that the follow up visits to the plastic surgeon were most positive as it appeared the finger tip would take. A month later all is healed and I am even typing this message with the use of the injured finger. I am most appreciative to Dr. Kaup for his thoroughness and care.

Dr. Kaup handled my emergency case regarding fractured ribs and collarbone. I had an air sac which developed around my left lung and Dr. Kaup drew a picture to help explain my condition. Easy to understand from a picture. He is extremely knowledgeable in emergency medicine and helped to assure my wife of my condition and the time needed for me to recover.

We met Dr. Kuap at the hospital when we took our son, who is 29 and has Muscular Dystrophy, to the emergency room with leg injuries he sustained in a fall from his wheelchair. We received great, prompt, friendly, service. Dr. Kuap referred us to a trauma unit in our home town, made all the arrangements and, put splints on his legs for the ride home. We give him and the complete staff 5 stars. Thanks from the Towery family.

I am in Hilton Head on vacation with my family. When I developed an abscess for the first time. Dr Kaup was outstanding. He was fast, efficient and most of all caring. He was very personable. My whole experience at the er here in HH has been fantastic. Angela was my nurse and she was So kind and compassionate. I appreciate the great care

He treated my Mother very poorly in the Hilton Head ER. She came into ER with slurred speech, elevated blood pressure and terrible headache. He insisted that she was just stressed - his exact words to her were "you know how you women are always stressed about something". I have phoned the hospital to talk about her experience but no one has returned my call.

Spoke to me like I was 10 years old. Practically insinuated I was a doctor shopper because my Primary doctor conscientiously refers me to specialists on HHI...and always found a problem. As a cancer survivor I know my body; and I'm not imagining symptoms. Won't allow him to treat me again.

Dr. Kaup is an excellent emergency physician. He is very intelligent and really cares about his patients. He has saved a lot of lives and is very personable. He is well respected by all of the nurses, his fellow doctors, administration, and patients.

My mother was extremely ill. Dr. Kaup was extremely busy. We were yelled at by him told he had 20 patients in the ER. We had no idea my mother was being admitted due to lack of communication. This was a frightening experience. I cannot speak to his medical credentials, only to his bedside manner. Total lack of empathy on Dr. Kaup's part.

Dr. Kaup was rude and condescending. He had a bad attitude towards me, the minute he stepped into the exam room. I had been to sent to ER by my personal physician and the first thing out of his mouth was why we were there and why didn't our doctor order the needed tests? Then he disagreed with the radiologist report, telling me I had wasted their time and the use of an expensive piece of hospital equipment.

Dr. Kaup is an excellent physician and is well respected by the nurses and his fellow peers. He is very intelligent and caring.
