I have very complex health and Dr McCabe took me on as a patient when others turned me down. He is a extremely compassionate and understanding a top notch orthopedic surgeon. Highly recommend if your looking orthopedic doctor who knows what he's doing.

Dr. McCabe was very detailed and caring while treating my broken arm. He had an excellent treatment plan which allowed me to heal & rehab efficiently and get back to my life. I appreciated the way Dr McCabe & the whole team at Kansas City Orthopedic Alliance approached patient care!

Dr. McCabe is the best Orthopedic Dr. I’ve ever worked with. His knowledge in sports medicine and dealing with athletes is evident; this makes my experience as a warrior athlete (military member) a great match because the guidance and treatment is based.

Dr. Michael McCabe is the best physician I have ever had in my life. His bedside manner is second to none. Every doctor should take classes on bedside manner and patient kindness from him. He will always have my orthopedic business and I will recommend him to everyone I know.

Dr McCabe explained to my son and I and a way we could both understand why and how my son continues to get Avulsion fractures. We both left feeling better and that we have a definite plan to get him on the road to recovery. His staff is so Personable and friendly. Thank you!

He is the best specially if you are a endurance athlete.

I trust Dr. McCabe because my daughter, who is a PT, trusts him… so far she’s right. So far alls good, and I can be pretty critical.

My experience with Dr. McCabe and his entire staff could not be better. From scheduling, to waiting, to the clear explanations and attention, all was great.

Went in with pain and left feeling much better, even with a n injection for draining fluid from my kneecap.

Dr McCabe is superior to any other doctor I have ever had the privilege of meeting or working with. Very knowledge, professional, personable, competent and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend him.

I had distal bicep surgery. Dr. McCabe and his staff made a horrible situation a lot more bearable. This went about as smooth as I could imagine a surgery going. I even received a follow up call the next day.

Dr. McCabe did a phenomenal job over the last 7 months helping me with a torn labrum in my right hip (along with some bone shaving). From consultation to operation to post-op, the entire experience was seamless, comfortable, and highly effective. I’d googled orthopedic surgeons in my area to finally be seen for my hip that’s been bothering me for years now. God knew what He was doing when He had me visit Apex’s website, the first result on the search list and had me schedule with Dr. McCabe, one of the two hip specialists that had an opening before the new year. I’ve always been a strong believer that to truly be a good medical provider both IQ and EQ are equally as important to have, and when relating to me I felt that Dr. McCabe possessed both. I’m beyond grateful to have been able to be seen by him because he not only thoroughly examined and assessed my physical injury; he consoled and appeased my psyche and made me feel confident that I was in good hands. Growing up as a first-generation Ethiopian-American I’ve admittedly subconsciously learned to be somewhat skeptical of western medicine health care providers due to the unfortunate fact that many physicians in the U.S. treat health care as a business rather than a human right. I had a great experience! After seeing several other doctors, at other practices, and not getting the treatment I was needling, Dr. McCabe, was able to deliver and relieve me of my pain and frustrations! Highly recommend….and Kara is great too!!

I have had a number of visits with Dr MCCabe in the last year or so. He has an excellent and friendly staff. He is always very informative, personable and answers all of my questions. I had horrible hip pain all summer. Nobody could give me a diagnosis for what it was and it only got worse and worse. I am only 19 and I was having pain all the way from my rib cage down to my ankle because of my hip. It got so bad to where I couldn’t even figure skate anymore because I would step on the ice and I would already be in pain. Once I figured out what was wrong and that I needed surgery, my parents wanted me to see a few different doctors to make sure we made the right choice. When I met him I knew right away he was the doctor I should have surgery with. Pretty much across the board I heard I would not be able to skate again for four months. McCabe got me back on the ice in two with no pain at all. I am so happy I got this surgery and so glad I did it with him. Dr McCabe is awesome. I went to several different doctors and no one could figure out why my hip hurt & he was the ONLY doctor who took the time to throughly figure it out. He's very compassionate and very honest and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend him.

Dr. McCabe has been amazing!! He performed both of my hip surgeries and was very helpful in making sure I understood what he was doing. He also made me feel very comfortable and like I was his priority when he was with me in appointments and surgery. Thank you!!

Dr. McCabe was very welcoming when he greeted me. He didn’t seem to mind my barrage of questions. He provided me with an alternative to knee replacement and showed me my X-rays to get a better picture of what was going on with my knees. There were no medical terms that I didn’t understand. There is a warmth about his office manner that made me feel very relaxed. He makes good eye contact. If I have any other orthopedic issues, I will definitely call on Dr. McCabe.

I went in for a second opinion, Dr. McCabe was open and honest about the surgery I was going to have. He explained each step In detail. The recovery is going so excellent which speaks likely on the surgeon. I would recommend McCabe in a heartbeat.

Dr. McCabe did my hip surgery back in February 2020 and I feel so much better. Due to COVID-19 I wasn’t able to keep going to physical therapy but continued at home. Just had my last follow up visit and all is good! He’s somebody I trust. Caring and thorough.

Update: Dr. McCabes nurse got back with me after I left a detailed message about what exactly occurred. She apologized and even went as far as to try and figure out who it was that I talked to the first time that told me the order would be put in on Monday. She made me first priority and told me I would hear back the next day about scheduling surgery. The next day I did hear back and got surgery scheduled as well as an appt before just to get a better understanding as to what I should expect. I appreciate the office doing what it takes to make things right and being quick about it. Also, the people I people I have interacted with since the first time I called have been a lot more pleasant to speak with! First Review: I feel Dr. McCabe was a little rushed. I had an appt schedule with him at 330 and I arrived 30min as requested. I waited 1 hr 30min (from the time brought I arrived)and only spoke with him for maybe 15min. We decided on a more conservative route for surgery. I took that as, we are going to schedule surgery. I saw him on 2/26/20. By Friday 2/28/20 I hadn't heard anything back, so I called the office both the scheduling for surgery line and just the regular schedule line. The people on the regular scheduling line told me (and seemed irritated I called in the first place) that they wouldn't place an order for surgery until Monday (3/2). I asked if that was normal and she brushed me off. So...I waited. Thursday (3/5) rolls around, and I have heard nothing again. So I call the regular scheduling line because the surgery line never got back to me. They said no order was ever placed...they transferred me to the assistant nurse and of course I got her voicemail. I have been dealing with this injury since Aug 2019 and I went to McCabe hoping he would help me more than my prior surgeon...and now I am stuck waiting again. It would just be nice to actually receive a call back or have some communication and to get surgery going. I gave 3 stars because McCabe was nice even though he was rushed. But I am disappointed. Rare to actually get the doctor that will be taking care of you during the initial visit. That is probably why Apex is so highly regarded in this field. I felt like I was heard and not reduced to another file. Dont like spending time in clinics/doctors office but it makes it easier with type of approach.

The office is always clean and appts run on time. I have never had to wait in the waiting room longer than 5 minutes. Dr. McCabe was great. He did an awesome job explaining my diagnosis as well as the surgical plan. He even drew pictures to help with a visual guide. Now just waiting to get my surgery scheduled.

Dr. McCabe is a kind, thoughtful, and thorough physician. He is great with children. He treated my 9 year old and made him comfortable, He offered me 3 plans to care for my injury and allowed me to choose the course that fit with my needs. My family will continue to use him as our orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. McCabe and the Apex team got my son in 30 min prior to them opening. They are fantastic. Hope he will be back wrestling in a few weeks thanks to their great care

I would highly recommend Dr. McCabe and APEX. I spent a year with other doctors trying to figure out what was going on, without success, and became frustrated. I was referred to APEX, and very quickly, Dr. Khadavi (also at APEX) narrowed down a couple potential root problems. APEX took a conservative and consultative approach working collobratively on my care. When I decided to go the surgical route, the coordination of care was great and seemless. I did some due diligence and was happy to hear from several friends and acquaintances who highly recommended Dr. McCabe. Some of these references are still competitive and athletic guys in their 40's. But regardless of your personal goals with outcomes from surgery, I would recommend Dr. McCabe. He has a great demeanor, genuine concern about your well-being, great bedside manner and is mindful of clearly articulating options, potential outcomes and what to expect.

Very thorough prep for our appointment. We were referred by another physician and Dr McCabe had evidently read the notes and clearly understood the issue. There was no rushing through the exam and took plenty of time to discuss his findings and next steps. The staff was extremely friendly throughout the facility. In spite of a lengthy exam our appointment was right on time. I would definitely recommend Dr. McCabe

I have been several times do to knee pain and always left very satisfied. I told him I did not want the knife and he said that everything will be done so he wont have to use it on me.

Before I went into surgery I know what was going to happen. Dr. Michael McCabe explained everything to me. He wanted me to get back at my sport as possible. Me having my first surgery he was their to answer all the questions I had and my parents had. If I had another surgery I would go to him for sure.

I am writing this for my son, Charleton Painter. He is very pleased with Dr. McCabe. Charleton said he is very informative and thorough. He also takes his time and explains procedures very well. He is one of the very few with excellent bedside manor. Just a nice person all around. Thank you.

Skilled surgeon! The left knee surgery Dr. McCabe did for me relieved all of my pain! Compassionate man who has gifted hands; I will always go to him for any orthopedic procedure he considers himself qualified to do. The best!!! Dr. McCabe is an amazing physician! We were referred to him when our oldest son hurt his knee in a high school football game. Not only did Dr. McCabe make arrangements to get our son in the same day that we called his office, but he took the time to make sure all of our questions were answered without being rushed. He and his entire staff have a genuinely friendly and caring attitude which showed starting with that first appointment. Fortunately, our son's injury did not require surgery. Dr. McCabe ordered PT for our son with the physical therapist himself, in addition to calling the team trainer on multiple occasions between follow up visits to see how our son was progressing. 5-Stars feels like it's not enough. At age 14, our daughter tore her ACL in soccer. Having seen Dr. McCabe for an earlier less severe injury (and being SO impressed with his care for her), we relied on Dr. McCabe to deal with her ACL issue. He related so well to our daughter and to us. He takes time to explain things, answer questions, and demonstrates genuine concern. The surgery went very well, the scars are very minor, and she was cleared to participate 100% within 7 months. Fantastic.

Dr. McCabe is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. I would highly recommend him to family and friends. He takes the time to answer questions and makes sure you feel comfortable. I was in chronic pain prior to surgery. I had exhausted all conservative options but he did not make me feel rushed to get surgery. He performed a left hip arthroscopy for my labral tear and CAM impingement of my hip. 6 months post-op I feel great and have my life back. Thank you Dr. McCabe! God bless you!!

After a year of immense pain, 8 different doctor consults and 5 injections I was referred to Dr. Michael McCabe for my hip. He read my MRI (which another doctor had failed to read correctly) and immediately came up with a diagnosis and game plan. He treated me as a person instead of just another patient. My injury required surgery and he made sure I understood every step of the recovery process. At just 1 week out from surgery I was finally free of the pain I had been experiencing for over a year. I continue to progress and am almost back to 100% at just 12 weeks post-op. Dr. Mccabe is an amazing doctor! He gave me back my quality of life and I highly recommend him.

Initially I saw a different doctor. After reviewing my MRI he referred me to Dr. McCabe due to the extent of my injury and Dr. McCabe's experience with sports related injuries. Dr. McCabe clearly outlined the severity of the injury and the process he would use to correct it. Surgery went fine. It has now been a year since the surgery and I continue to do strength therapy and fully expect to have full use of my shoulder again. It is a slow process and thanks to Dr. McCabe I will be near 100%

Dr. McCabe and his staff was tremendous in working with me to get me back to 100% post-op. Additionally, my 6-year old son accompanied me to my initial appointment. He is wanting to be a Dr. when he grows up.
