All nurses, techs, and Dr Pitta were terrific, very professional, personable, most efficient and an excellent team. All were a pleasure to work with.

Monterey Spine & Joint is a fantastic place to be treated. All of the staff are friendly, helpful, and well educated in their field. The physical therapy dept staff are knowledgeable and are excellent for help recovering from surgery and building muscle mass. Dr. Michael Pitta is one of best physicians I have ever known. He is an excellent surgeon and has a beautiful bedside manner.

Dr Pitta is empathetic and listens to my concerns. He and I made a reasonable plan of care for my aching knee. The plan was a left knee replacement. He explained everything very well and with the use of pre-op videos and Zoom sessions and the FORCE app I was well prepared. Three months out now and I can say it was a brutal surgery BUT the care and follow-up by Dr Pitta and his staff was great. Walking with ease now, very minimal surgical pain now and I will plan to do the other knee next year. My advice: Follow the directions, do the PT, get some slip-in shoes and remember you are not sick!

Dr. Pitta has always been so fabulous! He asks all the right questions for my condition, and has all the answers I need to know! My knees are improving because of his TLC. Thank you!!!

This morning I received my injection in my right knee. I was greeted by Dr. Pitta and he went over the series of the procedures to get my knee ready for the injection. I was very pleased with his professionalism and his strong work ethics. Dr. Pitta answered all my questions and concerns.

I feel Dr. Pitta is genuinely concerned about his patients and takes the time to answer any questions. I think Dr. Pitta wants his patients to understand all aspects of surgery or any other routes of care. The classes mandatory before surgery were essential and helped me to understand better. Doctor Pitta explains then asks if there are any questions while he waits. He was fast but I did not feel rushed. I have received lots of paperwork and I make my own notes from them but I only had a question or two. His staff is very helpful.

Dr. Pitta is awesome Doctor. October 1, 2021 I was lucky enough to have him as my surgeon for a complete hip replacement. Patience, kind and talented. I believe him to be the best Orthopedic Surgeon on our Central Coast.

Dr Pitta performed my total hip replacement. I chose Dr Pitta because of his medical talent as well as his ability to listen to my concerns. I did not feel rushed, and yet I wanted to be mindful of his time too. Medically, Dr Pitta discovered that my femurs (thigh bone) are unusually short. No other surgeon had mentioned that before. He also caught that I have a discrepancy of length between my two legs. He's great at finding details that can play a role in a person's function, and a surgeon's ability to do what they need to do. On my own I brought onto my "team" a pain specialist because I experience abnormally- high pain responses. Dr Pitta was great with all who work with him. Staff and personnel speak highly of him and relayed to me that my choice was spot on. I highly recommend Dr Pitta, and I am a picky person. I have already recommended him to my wife and friends. Dr Pitta and his staff gave me excellent care. My hip condition was complicated but Dr Pitta prepared in advance for three different surgical scenarios. My recovery was extremely quick, and 3 months after a complete hip replacement I am back to hiking five miles, only now pain free! The Force app used by Monterey Spine and Joint is very helpful. It allows direct contact with the office, contains exercise videos, and enables patients to log their progress. It even connects with other apps to track steps. A binder was also provided that contained a wealth of information about each step in the process. Dr Pitta was always friendly and helpful. Preparing for and recovering from a total hip replacement was a lot of work, but I was diligent about following directions and doing the work so overall it was a great experience.

Dr.Pita and Dr.Howard were great Dr.Pita did my hip and knee no trouble and it has been 2 years. Dr. Howard did my back and at least I have some mobility in it and can been over now I was hurt at work and all I can say it was bad. I have sent many friends there and they are all very happy heck my girlfriend is going for foot surgery next week. Mistake here; never met Dr Pitta

Fast, on time and very professional as well as friendly and welcoming.

I Felt very comfortable with this doctor, he was very knowledgeable and explained my treatment options. I now understand my health condition better.

I just had an X-ray of my left knee but the technician was very friendly and I was finished with X-ray in about 5 minutes.Look forward to seeing the Doctor tomorrow

My experience with Dr. Michael Pitta, MD was great. He was very informative and gave me different options and what was the best for my hip replacement. The rest of the team was great and very friendly. I will absolutely be coming back to see him.

Dr. Pitta and his staff were very thorough in all areas of my surgery from pre-op to post-op therapy. I was skeptical about the procedure but now (3 months later) I have been cleared with no restrictions and back to riding my bike every day and playing my drums! I felt that Dr. Pitta not only gave me excellent treatment for my knees, but he also was so very kind and really lifted my spirits about my health. I am a senior citizen and he treated with such respect and consideration answering my questions with honesty and integrity.

Doctor Pitta is an excellent surgeon. With my total hip replacement surgery, he did a magical job. Before I got ready for the surgery, he explained the surgery to me in detail and with confidence, built up the trust between the patient and the surgeon. Even with my poor foreigner English, in each conversation, he showed enough patience and cleared up any questions and gave me satisfactory answers. What I want to emphasize is, due to his outstanding surgery technique and his wonderful team, I didn’t experience any pain or discomfort , instead, he checked me out in person right after I woke up from anesthesia and next morning at 6 o’clock (what a responsible surgeon!) After I came back home, It’s still easy to contact him and his team, and answered my questions through their app “force” quickly. I could walk with a walker the next day after surgery, and walk easily without any assistance in 3 weeks. Dance in one month! Dr Pitta recognized the problems I was having with my knee. We were able to get total knee replacement scheduled in no time. I’m three months into my knee replacement and the original pain I was experiencing is gone. I highly recommend his services.

Dr. Pitta, I want to thank you for your professional neglect. I can barely walk, so like the mark that I am, I called your office for help. Silly me, what made me think that they would honor their oath, (Do no harm), neglect is harm. I have a very painful problem now, but I was reminded that I have an appointment in (3) weeks, so I must assume I should just bear it, no matter the harm. Excellent surgeon who follows strict guidelines to ensure a positive outcome. I would highly recommend Dr.Pitta. He has performed 2 knee replacement surgeries for me over the past 3 years that were very challenging.

Dr. Pitta is an incredible orthopedic surgeon.He has operated on me twice. He has done a total hip and knee replacement surgery on me. i guess im young for these surgeries (40 yrs).He literally has given me a new outlook on life. When it came to my first surgery my hip. We had everything in place. Then 2 or 3 weeks before my surgery my insurance company for some reason said no out of the blue even though they knew about its for weeks.They said they wanted us to try physical therapy and medication first. I was unbelievably disappointed to say the least. He took a proactive role and contracted my insurance company.He told them i was well beyond that point. within 2 days they okayed the surgery.Then after my knee replacement.Which is alot harder to come back from than the hip.I didnt have the range of motion he wanted.He wanted to do a leg manipulation. I was going to say no but i trusted him and said yes. thank god i did.Anyone would be absolutely LUCKY to get Dr Pitta as their surgeon.

Dr. Pitta (and his competent team) do a fantastic job in my total knee replacement. I was fully briefed and prepared for both the surgery and the after care. When I needed encouragement to fully engage therapy, he provided the motivation and support. His team was always available to answer questions or support my needs. If my other knee needs replacement you can bet I will seek Dr. Pitta’s services.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr Pitta and his amazing staff. I had my left knee fully replaced in Sept 2020. I just had my 3 month check up. I am a very active guy and was in terrible pain for far too long. Now I am pain free and have my life back! If you are contemplating knee surgery of any type, in my opinion, you have arrived. There's no need to look any further. At every visit both pre-op & post-op, Dr Pitta always took his time and was not rushed, explained things in detail and made it understandable. He is open minded and very approachable. He is a wonderfully talented, very personable, dedicated surgeon who's on the top of his game. The more I saw Dr Pitta the greater my admiration grew - for him and his entire team. I would highly recommend him and his staff.

I had THE BEST experience with Dr. Pitta and my hip replacement. He is personable, accessible, and makes sure you have every tool for successful treatment. I never had the slightest discomfort from the moment I awoke from surgery, and quickly recovered to regain full mobility.
