Dr Salata repaired my 360 slap tear in shoulder put in 6 anchors 3 days later can tell difference in my hand movements. Beautiful work felling good about life now.Thankful that this my doctor

Dr. Salata is the third orthopedic surgeon that I have seen, and the second that I saw for my knees. He was incredibly knowledgeable about what was occurring with my knee. He took his time explaining various treatments. He did not try to sell surgery, even though he is a surgeon. I appreciated that because so many doctors seem to want to do what is best for THEM and not the patient. He wanted to do a treatment that would give me the best quality of life. I have never seen an unprofessional group of receptionist at the Ahuja orthopedic location. I called to schedule an appointment and was told I couldn’t, they gave me the run around for an entire week I am very upset with the way I was treated. I informed them that I would be bringing a form to their location and verified the Main campus location with the receptionist and she replied that was the correct location I drove there and was told Dr. Salata’s Office was located at Ahuja. I have a stress fracture in my legs, shin splints, and marrow edema in my knee walking around with crutches. I was in pain I demanded to speak with the director James Voo and was told he wouldn’t speak with me, I feel this location needs to retrain their receptionist or hire some new professional receptionist that appreciate their job. 1/10 I give this location a 1 because Dr. Salata is a great doctor but his receptionist need attention. Hey now, just because you had a bad exprience at his orthos receponist desk doesn't warrant a bad review for him. UH's ortho office can have 8-10 docs in one place. Be patient its worth it, its worth the wait. Mike is a fantastic surgeon. I saw him in 16' with a jacked up hip. He tried like hell to make my own tissues work. It didn't, we tried again with a graft. Went back to skiing and working out regularly and havn't had a problem since. He also was able to fix an issue with my shoulder that 17 other docs couldn't figure out and was able to clear out the damage from two previous surgeries. Once he went in, never had an issue. He is my go to surgeon and the first person I recommend to my friends and coworkers. He, and his PA both have great personalities. He is worth it. Dr. Salata is a true professional. He listens to what you have to say, he answers any questions you have. I've met a lot of doctors after 12 years in the Army and he is by far the best I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I would recommend him over anyone else in his field.

He did my knee and did a great job best dr I have ever seen fixed me 100% great guy.

My daughter suffered from a dislocated knee cap and a torn ligament. After visiting with Dr. Salata at his office at Ahuja medical center, he recommended surgery. Dr. Salata took the time to explain the procedure exactly, and he also explained what to expect after. He was extremely direct and thorough which is highly appreciated! He also took the time to answer my teen daughters question about why he chose his profession. His response to my child restored my faith in humanity! He is an outstanding healthcare provider with the right balance of professionalism, dedication, skillfulness and compassion! His surgical skills are beyond amazing. Performed surgeries on both of my daughters. Unlike my ACL surgery from 1997 (with a different doc), Dr Salata was very informative. To the point where I had no questions to ask about the surgeries. He answered all of my questions during his initial explanation. I cannot say enough about his "bedside manners" ... he is always approachable and always seems to genuinely care about his patients. I was very unhappy with the care I received from Dr. Salata. My whole visit was rushed and very little was explained to me. He wrote me a prescription for an anti-inflammatory, it was denied by my insurance company...it took him nine more days to write a new one!

I went to Dr. Salata for a second opinion and am extremely happy and satisfied. His interpretation of my images and his explanation with a short term action plan and recommendation for further treatment was wonderful.

He is an amazing guy he does really good work on people there needs surgery trust this guy.

He is very professional and honest. You can tell that he really cares about his patients. He did a great job with my sons knee surgery.

I am reading some of these negative reviews and can not believe that we are speaking of the same doctor. Dr. Salata treated me with respect. Every question was answered in a very informative, easy to understand way. I have had multiple hip arthroscopies with another facility, and consultations with multiple doctors after those surgeries. No other doctor would take on the responsibility of fixing another Dr.'s mistake. Dr. Salata fixed it and I am pain free 4 weeks post-op.

Saw Dr.Salata today, and he was very friendly and very knowledgeable. He mentioned that I had hip dysplasia which was something I never knew until now.

Never met with Dr. Salata, met with his PA. PA seemed effective and knowledgeable, but, when being told you need a hip replacement it would have been professional to have heard it directly from the doctor. Disappointed.

I had an appointment with Dr. Salata, but never actually met him or saw him. After I had a series of x-rays, I was directed to an examining room to wait for the doctor. His assistant came in and spoke with me regarding my x-rays. She then offered cortisone injections, which I gladly accepted. After the injections, she told me I was done. I was floored that I never saw the doctor. Although I never met him, he made quite an impression on me---and I'll definitely be looking for another doctor

After knee surgery, Dr Salata left no discharge post op instructions for nurses to give us. So the Lyndhurst surgery center sent us home by saying, I guess call their office tomorrow and ask if there are any instructions. We don't know if the dressing should be changed, if there should be weight bearing, etc! The Physician assistant answered our ques on phone by saying, they should have given you that info in the discharge instructions. The web site looks professional but look elsewhere!

Dr. Salata is a great doc. He takes the time to listen to patients and is an amazing surgeon. I couldn't be happier with my hip surgery. I am glad I stayed in Ohio to have my surgery done. Kristi his PA is amazing too!

Dr. Salata seems very competent and knowledgeable. However, he repeatedly threatened me that if I didn't lose weight, nothing could be done for my aching hip. Mind you, this was AFTER he explained that based on my xray, I am not at this time even a candidate for either arthroscopic procedure or replacement. So why were we going on an on about weight? How does he treat thin people with hip arthritis? I want the same. This kind of fat shaming is counterproductive and needs to stop.

Transition of care was awful and unacceptable. Horrible communication between Dr. Salata, his resident Andrew and his PA Christy and his in office PT, all told us completely different things. Every appointment was canceled by his office, some with less than 24 hour notice and absolutely no apology for the inconvenience. Highly disappointed and would never recommend any family, friends or even strangers to him or his office. Every question was answered vaguely.
