Terrible. Should not work with patients. Offered no help.

I have been seeing Dr. Yao for 3 years. My mental state greatly improved because of him. He’s the best doctor I had so far. I love having him as my psychiatrist and recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Yao is a very attentive listener and an insightful solutionist. He has helped me with a host of issues and, while I am still not perfect, I live a better life for being a patient of Dr. Yao.

Dr Yao is a super attentive listener who really seems to care about my issues and what I have to say. He has helped me recognize and address a plethora of thought patterns and behaviors that had been dragging me down. I may not be “perfect”, but I live a better life for having been a patient of Dr Yao.

Wonderful, caring physician. Supportive and collaborative. I feel very lucky to have him as my doctor.

I have trouble trusting people especially doctors and Dr Yao was patient in letting me work through my issues using medications if necessary and guidance.l suffer from PTSD and substance abuse and he will be missed at the V.A as he starts his private practice.

I've been a patient of Dr. Yao's over a period of approximately eighteen months. He, in the first month, identified a life-threatening health issue other physicians had overlooked for thirty years. Identifying the problem, and resolving it, extended my life by a decade, probably. He's intelligent, perceptive and unabashed with his evaluations. You may not want to hear what he tells you, but you are going to leave an appointment knowing what you've been told. He doesn't tap dance. Recommended.
