Michon Bechamps

Dr. Bechamps listens very carefully as you describe your concerns, but you have to put some effort into presenting your specific problem in precise terms. She relies on the report of your blood work and will ask the lab for further information if she sees an anomaly.

Definitely makes you feel like she doesn't want to be there and doesn't care about taking care of you and you can never get a call back to answer any questions you have. Selma is ridiculous

Dr. Bechamps was my primary care physician for about three years during which time I came to dread each visit with her. I have to assume that she is quite capable as a physician, however, her ability to interact with patients is sorely lacking. She was very nice for the first two visits and seemed quite talkative, but after that, she seemed to withdraw and seemed as if she wanted to be any place other than with a patient. I can only assume that she has some difficulties at home that are interfering with her ability to be a good physician. The trust and interaction between doctor and patient are critical components of medical care, and it's a good thing I never had any real illnesses while under her care, because I came to feel uncomfortable in talking with her about small things that were bothering me.

Michon Bechamps lacks my trust as she gave misinformed details to my mother regarding her diagnosis. In my opinion, Michon should not carry the 'Dr.' title, which is why I did not add it in front of her name. Her distant behavior towards my mother led me to think that she'd rather be doing something else. I do not trust Michon's medical judgement.

I’m a patient of Dr. Bechamps at Selma Medical. Over the years I’ve seen the level of service decline significantly. I would have to agree with other reviews posted here as I have had the same experiences. My family is actively searching now for a new Internal Medicine practice. I called to get my Rx for Novolin R updated on Monday, June 18, 2018. As typical with calling there, I got to their nurse voice mail. They ask to leave only one message, which I did, with my name, DOB and phone #. By Thursday, June 21, 2018, I had not heard back from anyone. I took my last (partial) dose of insulin that morning. I called back and left another message. Still no word by Friday, June 22, 2018, my blood sugar (BS) reading was 200, I called again. Around 3 PM, the nurse called me. I explained my need, she said she would tell my doctor, and my doctor would call me back that day. She did not call me. So, I was without my insulin all weekend. I called CVS to see what they could do to help me. They sent a request for a refill to my doctor. Sat AM BS 381, Sun AM BS 308. I called back Monday, June 25, 2018 and left a message, begging for someone to get back to me. Mon AM BS 326. One of their nurses called me and said they got the request from CVS and it takes 72 hours to process. I explained everything to her and she said she would have my doctor's nurse call me. No one called by the afternoon, so I tried to call again. I called the appointment line first. The phone rang several times then disconnected. I tried the nurses line, it rang a couple of times, then disconnected. My husband called from his phone and got through to the automated system right away. We both tried a couple more times with the same results. He got through, I did not. I waited an hour or so, then I tried again from my phone and got a note on top of my phone saying "attempting", then I was told "Your call can not be completed at this time." My husband called from his phone, and the call went through. I believe they blocked my number. There is no reason for this kind of treatment. I was not rude. I was not mean or cursing, I am very concerned about myself. I am extremely disappointed with my treatment in getting a medication I have been taking for years. Michon Bechamps is not friendly and very distant. My Mother was her patient. Despite my Mother's kindness, keeping her appts and always being on time, Michon treated my Mother like she did not want to be her doctor. My Mother transferred to a different doctor who was pleasant and treated her with respect and correctly diagnosed her. Dr. Bechamps was overseeing my husband along with her colleague, Dr. Patterson. The pair of them have no business working with a cancer patient in a skilled nursing facility. I would rather expire than to have them oversee my care.

Dr. Bechamps visits to my elderly mother gave everyone there the impression she would rather be anywhere else. I would not recommend her for any elderly patient. We had to take my mother out of the facility to see another doctor because Dr Bechamps choose to return to her office to see patients there and did not visit my mother personally when the nurses told her she was very ill. Selma Medical Assoc should consider assigning another physician to elder care facilities. A minus star rating is more appropriate.

A minus star rating would be more appropriate. Dr. Bechamps' interactions with my elderly parent left everyone with the impression that she would rather be anywhere else. On her last visit to the facility, Dr Bechamps choose NOT to see my parent personally, who was very ill at the time, stating she wanted to return to her office to see other patients. My parent had to be taken out to another physician. ALL patients are important. Dr Bechamps should decide if elderly patients are not her calling.

Dr Bechamp is honest and straightforward in speaking her mind. She doesn't seem to hold much back and that's refreshing because many patients need to learn the unvarnished opinions of their practioners.
