“The help” wasn’t helpful! What could be more devastating or disappointing than that as an individual already suffering from mental illness trying to seek help?! My hope is this review will save others from the same heart-break, pain & suffering that I experienced here… I was hopeless & desperate when I came to DBT Center of San Diego seeking their help & expertise in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I left in more intense pain & suffering than one can imagine possible. I am living an unbearable hell every day as my symptoms are 100x worse than when I started here. In fact, now I am experiencing new frequent symptoms of suicide ideation. Symptoms that were atypical in general when I started at DBT Center of San Diego. Maybe the real problem with this provider is they aren’t actually experts at all…. if they were they would have known how to effectively treat a patient with emotion dysregulation symptoms. I was shocked to learn these providers aren’t even American Board-certified (which is NOT the same thing as being licensed by the state’s Board of Psychology!) something you would think a psychologist specializing in such a niche therapy & who claims to have received a decade of training & mentorship from Dr. Marsha Linehan, the creator & founder of DBT therapy, WOULD HAVE! Dr. Marsha Linehan is American Board-certified (ABPP) however Dr. Milton Brown is NOT and neither is Dr Amanda Gutierrez nor is the rest of the team. I paid over $400+ a week for intensive individual & group therapy to receive ineffective therapy in return. I’ve never met a more unprofessional provider! Do yourself a favor and look up the difference between a psychologist who is American board-certified & one who is not, you will be glad you did! “The help” wasn’t helpful!
