Nahid Mazarei

When I left my very first appointment with Dr. Mazarei I was so relieved and excited thinking I'd found a phenomenal - compassionate, informative and insightful practitioner. At first she was thorough and listened to my history and concerns. She put me at ease and was very straighforward. The office staff were professional and efficient. Unfortunately and without notice, when I decided not to have a hysterectomy, against her insistence (it wasn't necessary for my symptoms) she would no longer take my appointments, and moved me to her obviously less experienced (though lovely) colleague who had a hard time relating to my needs. It was awkward and disheartening. There was no talking to Dr Mazarei about alternative treatment paths. She went straight to the most invasive and aggressive course. Also, there was no education on why she'd chosen the course she did as quickly as she did - two visits. I am sure Dr Mazarei is a very good doctor. However, I did not end up having my needs met with her, and I believe it is because, by exercising my right to be an educated consumer of medical services, I was no longer a profitable case. I do understand that her time is her money but the lack of communication and the follow-up experience with her office was disappointing.

I was referred to Dr Mazarei from her partner in her practice Dr. Tui for a hysterectomy. I saw Dr Maz one time about 2 years ago while pregnant. She was great then. During the surgery consult she was understanding, caring, compassionate and informative. She explained everything to me and we scheduled the laparoscopic hysterectomy. The day of the surgery she came in pre op, was wonderful, explained and confirmed again what we were doing and took me into surgery early. I just went for my post op and again, she was great at explaining all the biopsy results and restrictions. This has been a great experience. I know that sounds odd for a surgery but having a Dr like her makes it better. I had soreness but no pain. Only took Tylenol! I would recommend her and this surgery to anyone considering it. Also, all of her staff and Dr Tui is always welcoming and understanding. I just love this office and glad to be a patient there!!

I love Dr Mazarei! As a nurse we come across some horrific doctors but not her. As her (favorite) patient I have been with her for over 10 years. She was with me through a miscarriage and then supported and delivered my daughter a year later. 2 weeks ago I had a robotic laparoscopic partial hysterectomy and came out with no pain and moving around as if I never had surgery. I’m still taking it easy though. Her nurse Shawanna Davis is also excellent. They make the perfect team and as long as she is practicing she will forever be my doctor. She loves what she does and she loves people. She is an expert in her field. I love her with everything in me for how well she has cared for me over the years!

After having my original OBGYN doctor retire abruptly.I went to visit Dr.Mazarei office in Clinton. I had read so many good review that I decided to make a appointment. Appointment went well. However, I’ve been calling to make a f/u appointment and the phone keeps going to voicemail. My short time visiting the office I could already tell by the confusing atmosphere in the lobby with the women at the front desk that i would have some future problem with this office, but this soon. I’m not sure if Ill stay or go. She is absolutely awesome! She actually takes time to sit and listen to you outside of the exam room. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses it can be hard to find a doctor that is knowledgeable about practicing without blood use and willing to take patients who do not accept blood. She is very knowledgeable and most of all respectful of my beliefs. So I assume she is like that with everyone that walks in her door. The confidence in herself and her work exudes in her speech and actions. I'm very thankful I found her and am now a regular patient. My surgery went very well and I couldn't' be happier with the results! Update - I am 2 months out from my surgery and the results are just what she said they would be......a WAY better quality of life. In a word, phenomenal! Dr. Mazarei is hands down the best doctor I’ve had in any specialty. She is incredibly warm, compassionate, welcoming, knowledgeable, and she makes you feel genuinely loved and cared for. There arent enough positive words to describe my experience with her from our initial consultation to my hysterectomy procedure. I was referred to Dr. Mazarei for my partial hysterectomy. That was the best experience I ever had. Dr. Mazarei made me feel that I was her only priority. She was available every step of the way before and after the surgery. She listened to my concerns, reassured me, made me feel comfortable and answered my questions however many times I called her. I love Dr. Mazarei. She is the best hands down. I have dealt with PCOS for over 10 years and I finally had to get the cyst removed quickly. Dr. Mazarei was able to do the surgery with just 3 tiny incisions and saved my ovary. I was in and out of surgery and home the same day. Thank you Dr. Mazarei. Truly my angel on earth.

I was referred to Dr. Mazarei by my hematologist. My initial visit was AWESOME! She reviewed my records, asked detailed questions not only about my health but about me as a person. She was extremely thorough and provided a list of options to help resolve the problems I was having. She gave the pros and cons and provided her personal recommendation while showing extreme respect for my opinion. I went to ther hospital for stomach pain and ended up getting laparoscopic surgery. I lost my baby, had dr mazarei not been there I probably would have been sent home. I had ultrasounds done and nothing was there, no baby nothing. Thanks to her and the awesomeness of Dr Parker they were able to press the issue and found that I had an ectopic pregnancy and I had emergency surgery. I'm grateful for Dr. Mazarei, I love her so much, she's amazing. Last year my pregnancy was label a high-risk pregnancy. I had a 20cm fibroid and a 7cm which made me look like I was 5 months at 3 months pregnant. I went to the office for another doctor who was not there but Dr. Mazarei was, she sat my husband and I down and she drew a diagram of the fibroids and the baby and broke it down for me to understand what fibroids are and the risks. Other doctors said to terminate and good luck. My baby girl was born at 37wks 6days by c section. Dr. Mazarei is truly a blessing and has a gift, she just recently removed my fibroids, the biggest was 19cm, and she didn't have to do a huge cut to get to them out, she performed a robotic myomectomy, it's been to be 2 weeks and my recovery is going well and I can still have more children. Dr. Mazarei is absolutely amazing! She is kind and understanding. I’ve been going to her since I was 15. She educated me about sex and helped me understand how to be safe and smart on my behalf instead of trying to lean me away from having it. Instead she made me feel very comfortable and made sure I was protected as all doctors should (but they don’t always do). She also delivered my youngest sister and while the process was very long and stressful for my family...as my sister was having complications with the cord being wrapped around her neck, she made sure to do her best and comfort the family. She delivered her successfully and took very great care of us! You can tell that she does her job because she loves it, not because of the pay or the title. Dr. Mazerei performed my hysterectomy and also removed my fibroids. My experience with her was phenomenal! I could tell she was invested in my health. She explained to me what would be happening, the measures I needed to take prior to the surgery to ensure a smooth operation, and the measures I needed to take after surgery to ensure proper recovery. She even took pictures of what was removed and explained what each part was. One thing I truly appreciated was her going out to talk to my husband and daughter before and after the surgery. I would recommend Dr. Mazarei to everyone in the DMV area. She is truly passionate about serving the community and provides excellent care.

I absolutely love this lady. Was high risk with my last baby who is now 5. She ended up after being in labour since 6am to 3am the next day. Had a csection. THAT WAS THE EASIEST C SECTION EVER????MY 1 AND ONLY MIGHT I ADD????????????????IT TOOK NO TIME. SHES THE BEST????????????????????????????????

Dr. Maz is the best! She treated me during a high risk pregnancy and ensured my little one arrived safely. There may be a bit of a wait to get an appointment, but that's because she's in high demand. She's worth the wait.

I had a lapriscopy assisted partial hysteroscopy- removal of my uterus, cervix and fallopian tubes due to fibroids. The ABSOLUTE BEST OB/GYN around! She recently performed my Hysterectomy. I went to her after many years of putting this surgery off. I waited until my fibroids were so big, that I had pain with walking. To be honest, I am not the idea surgical candidate. I am overweight and have had 2 previous csections. Dr. Mazarei performed my surgery with NO complications! No stress leading up to the surgery and no outrageous requirements afterwards EXCEPT to let her know if I needed anything (that is how amazing she is). Firstly, let me just say that Dr. Mazarei is one of the best ob/gyn doctors I've had in my life. I was referred to her from my ob/gyn because of a large (13cm) submucosal fibroid that has caused so much pain and extreme bleeding for well over a year. I met with Dr. Mazarei on November 29,2018 about the fibroid and instantly fell in love with her awesome bedside manner, her attentiveness, but most importantly her genuineness. After speaking for only a short 10 minutes she called her coordinator and set up a surgery for me for the following week. Just like that, a beautiful light appeared at the end of the tunnel! On December 7, 2018, I had the Laparoscopic Assisted Myomectomy and it was the greatest decision I've made. Dr. Mazarei was able to remove all of the fibroid, and I am still able to have children. Dr. Mazarei exceeds the standards of excellence! At our initial meeting, she introduced herself in such a genuine and gracious manner, assuring me that she was committed. As it turned out, I needed a hysterectomy. Dr. Mazarei’s professionalism and high success rate in performing laparoscopic hysterectomies (one of the newest and high-tech methods), eased my concerns. Amazing experience with Dr. Mazarei! She gave me so much confidence that I was in the right hands with my large (13cm) submucosal fibroid removal. I was referred to Dr. Nahid Mazarei because of 2 fibroids 5-8 lbs showed up on a sonogram. I so appreciate her attention to detail on my case. By addressing the seriousness of my case, she was able to explain everything to me. Surgery was scheduled as quickly as possible. With the use of new robtic technology, within a day, I was up and walking around. After a week, I have minor discomfort but I'm well on my way to a speedy recovery, with little, to no scaring. Dr. M and staff rock!

I love Dr. Mazare ! You cannot tell me that she is not a gift from God. I was feeling so bad, fibroids had me very sick so much that I had to be hospitalized. She performed a laparoscopic hysterectomy on me 2 weeks ago and already, I am walking around and feeling great. I preferred this method over being cut. Dr.Mazarei was awesome I came to her with a Fibroid the shape and weight of a basketball. Instead of getting that traditional bikini cut. She did the Robotic Assisted hysterectomy she assured me everything was going to be ok. I trusted her. Her spirit is infectious ?. After a bad experience with a credentialed gynecologist, I suffered with a growing fibroid that caused heavy menstrual bleeding every month for 2 1/2 yrs. After deciding I couldn't take it anymore, I researched and found that Dr. Mazarei had excellent credentials as one of the best gynecologists in my area. She "tells it like it is", is very thorough, but at the same time has a very warm and reassuring. We decided on a robotic hysterectomy; I am 2 weeks post op and healing better than expected!

I am a 47yo blk female who suffered severe bleeding due to fibroids, and I must say Dr Mazarei was god sent. I am now 4 weeks post op and I feel great. Dr Mazarei performed a laparoscopic robotic hysterectomy and I kept my ovaries. My scars are very small, the surgery was successful with no complications and my recovery was amazing, I was even able to return to work in 2weeks. Dr Mazarei is the best, I’m so glad I chose her and I would definetly recommend her if you’re considering a hysterectomy

I met Dr. Mazarei 6 months ago as I was transported to the Emergency Room at Medstar Hospital in Clinton, MD. I was at my lowest in health with uncontrollable hemorrhaging. I met this pinnacle specialist who nurtured my condition and made me feel secure in her expertise! After securing my bleeding, I was able to travel out of the country on business travel to receive an Award in the pharmaceutical industry. I would recommend this skilled Specialist to tough to treat cases! She Cares!!!

I was searching for a GYN who cares about me as a woman and who takes pride in their work and thank god I found Dr. Nahid Mazarei. Not only was she exactly what I was looking for Dr. Mazarei also was very thorough and personal, she made me feel like I was her only patient. I had large fibroids about 3 and they needed to come out as they were causing me problems. She gave me the choice as to surgery or not, she was not quick to cut me she gave me the choice, I love that she talked to me in her office one on one I did not feel rushed she answered all of my question and made me feel comfortable about making my decision that was right for me. I ended up having to a partial hysterectomy along removing the large fibroids on March 17, 2017 and because Dr. Mazarei takes pride and is thorough she did a FANTASTIC job, I love her so much and let me not forget her office staff. WOW they all were very nice, professional and made me feel like we were long time friends. I especially love Ms. Davis she is Dr. Mazarei right hand, she always makes me feel great and she has good jokes too. I am so happy with Dr. Mazarei. Just wish I had found her years ago instead of only in the past 5 months. She made me feel special and spoke with me one-on-one in her office of instead of the exam table. She explained in detail my problem and the various choices I had. When I opted for surgery she did minimally invasive surgery. What a blessing! She put my fears at ease and my recovery was like a vacation -- I experienced little to NO pain following surgery.

Dr. Mazarei has a beautiful spirit. It is obvious that she cares. Her nurse Shawanna is caring & diligent. I had robotic surgery. The surgery went well and I feel much better. Dr. Mazarei was able to see that scar tissue (from previous surgery) had attached to other organs and was causing problems. After she removed the scar tissue, she then performed my hysterectomy. With robotic surgery, the scar tissue will not grow back. Her main concern is the health and well being of her patients.

Dr Mazarei cares about her patients but my last two visits, she was very distracted and asked why did I make an appointment. Her assistant Shawana is great and keeps up with patient situations. Unfortunately, the goodness stops there. The office staff are very incompetent, uncaring and impatient. Scheduling mistakes are abundant, misplaces documents often - as in your medical file/test results etc. They don't talk to each other or are too lazy to check on your files. Scary, I'm changing doctor.

I was recommended to her by my primary care physician because of my fibroids. I have had previous surgeries and procedures, and I wanted a better quality of life without all of the challenges. After realizing that I wanted a final procedure, she operated on me but performed a laparoscopic surgery instead of the traditional surgery. I am grateful for her warmth, knowledge, and skill in this procedure. It was better for me to have this procedure because of a faster recovery time.

Her support and care are unparalleled. I informed her of how horrific my delivery was with my first child and she did everything within her power to make sure my experience with my second child was easy and painless. She came to check on me prior to my c-section and even held my hand and talked me through my epidural. She even went so far as to remove my awful keloid from my prior c-section. She promised I'd be well cared and she delivered. Her staff is equally caring and competent. Awesome!

What can I say? She is the most awesome Doctor around. She is caring and understanding and gets to know you on a personal level. I had multiple miscarriages and she is the only Doctor who took the time to find the problem and fix it.

She saved my life. She diagnosed cancer symptoms that were not listed on any of the major government or private hospital lists. She listens and is straightforward about one's options. Best ob/gyn I've ever found.

For the first time in 20 years I found a doctor that took the time to listen to the problems I was having and not just brush them off like it was normal occurrence.

Dr. Mazarei she is a true angel of love she truly loves her patients and her staff, her staff has love for the patients as well. She do listens and under stands your pain. Thank you very much Dr. Mazarei for being my Dr. doing my surgery and being there after my surgery you are truly an angel once again Thank you.........

I have to give HUGE LOVE to my gyn Dr. Nahid Mazarei! She is absolutely AMAZING at motivating and empowering your spirit within. This woman is unbelievable the care and detail each time I visit her she picks up where we left off on a personal note talking about my family, friends and not just my womanly health but also what's in my head and heart. She's caring and detailed in my tests, follow ups and advice. I thank her and her assistant Shawanna. Always leave feeling inspired and amazing.

I'm writing this review to recognize the highly exceptional care I receive while visiting Dr.Mazarei. The first visit to the office upon entering I was greeted by a professional and patient friendly team then I met her she made me feel right at home the care and bedside manner I received was like no other I had experienced she makes you feel very comfortable and answers any questions or concerns without rushing you out but the one thing I love is her direct honesty and humor I give her A++++++++
