About Neha A Khurana
Reviews for Neha A Khurana
Many psychologists just focus on getting paid and don’t really tune with the patient in their needs. Unlike Neha Khurana, she really tunes in the patient and listens. Also her dog Coco is the friend to make your day brighter.
Stay away from this Doctor. She seems like a miserable person and doctor who is just going through the motions to check a box. After seeing me for about 10 minutes to gather my medical history, she said offhand "you don't seem to fully trust me" and I said I have a healthy skepticism of all Doctors who I've only know for 10 minutes, and then after asking a few questions about the medication she prescribed she said I should find a different doctor. She didn't even talk to me about why I was feeling this way or why she chose that med - she just said since I didn't "trust her" I should find a different doctor. Doesn't actually care or DIG IN to listen - just going through the motions in her miserable life to check the box, and do the bare minimum. If you really need help, I hope you can find somebody who will truly listen and cares and take the time to answer your questions. She also asked how my family had so much money (inappropriate and not medically relevant, unprofessional).
Do not go to Dr. Khurana, she will endanger your health. She refuses to explain medications or discuss side effects. If you ask "at what point should we consider changing dosage?" she will suggest you check in to a hospital for a "higher level of care," her go-to phrase according to other reviews. Dr. Khurana will provide the lowest amount of care possible. Doesn't care about her patients at all. In our second appointment she put her face in her hands for the entire time we spoke, answering every basic question with "I don't know what you want me to do about it." Will not tell you essential test results, or even make an appointment to do so. Never had a worse experience with a doctor. Hostile, unkind, and unequipped to treat anyone. Find a doctor with a baseline level of respect and care for your wellbeing.
Listen to the reviews. They are true. I have struggled with emotional issues since childhood. Recently I needed to reach out for help. I was referred here by summit ridge. I of course read the reviews but I’m not one to judge. Let me tell you what happened. The dr saw me on a Thursday. Wanted to me put on certain medications that required bloodwork. My pcp was awesome and did it that Friday morning with results Friday afternoon. Messaging through the number they set up my appointment with I tell the dr that I can start the meds. She says she’ll have them called in this evening. Saturday medications were not sent in. I messaged again. Not really an issue bc I’m sure she’s busy. So I pick up the meds on Sunday and started them Sunday evening. I’ve never been on these medications and was concerned about side effects. I messaged the number I had been communicating with them through (since they don’t have a patient portal) the side effects I was experiencing and if it was normal. Several hours later I get a message that says i have an appointment with the dr the next day. I ask why I need an appointment that I just had questions about medication side effects. That I had only been on the medication 2 days and since money is tight right now and I’d prefer not to have to pay another copay. The response “ We will have to refer you to the local community service board. You can contact viewpoint health for services. We will not be able to assist you further.” My reply “Why can't I just keep my appointment in a month? I don't understand. I just had questions about side effects....” The response “We cannot answer medication questions over text or email. You have to see the doctor or nurse practitioner” My response “ Ok then sorry I asked. So I really need to somewhere else or keep my appointment in a month?” Their response “We will recommend that you seek help from viewpoint. They can provide both med management and therapy services” My response “ So I'm being dismissed as a patient?” Their response “ You are being referred to a higher level of care than we can provide in a solo practice Since you indicated that you can't make your appointment to discuss side effects and need immediate help.“ I got fired from their practice for asking about medication side effects. They expected me to pay another copay and have another drs visit to ask if my symptoms were ok with the medication she put me on??? This place and dr have non existent patient care. Don’t waste your time or money. Listen to the reviews. They are true. I have struggled with emotional issues since childhood. Recently I needed to reach out for help. Rude and nasty. There should be zero stars rating.
Saw her at Summit Ridge. Horrible dr. Spends less than a minute with me and is not sensitive to PTSD. Very short and rude to me. Glad to never see her again!
She charged my daughter $25 dollars to send a prescription to the pharmacy and because the pharmacy did not have the medication in stock and the prescription needed to be sent to another pharmacy, she charged my daughter another $25 “for her time.” I have never had a doctor charge for sending a prescription, much less charge $50....TO SEND A FAX!!! We won’t be going back, there’s plenty of other doctors to choose from. If your problem is anxiety please stir clear away from this very rude, uncaring and horrible chair side manners after you wait for over an hour to see her. Only to feel more anxiety than you felt before your appt. She abruptly ended seeing me by saying she couldn't treat me I needed to see another doctor for my anxiety. I was only asking about side affects I was experiencing from medications she prescribed and increased despite side affects I was trying to communicate to her I was having. That experience has really set my depression off. Now my problems are worst. Please don't go to this doctor if you are looking for a doctor who cares. She doesn't and shows it. Wish it could be ZERO stars!!NOT WORTH YOUR TIME AND ENERGY! She is a doctor that doesn’t really care about her patients! Update 2: Finnally they reach out to me via email, Audrey apologized for the phone line issue and said on the email that my son was been referred to another clinic and ask me what prescriptions I needed since she said the doctor will refill it one more time. I send the email, and the doctor emails me back telling me that prescriptions are not discussed via email! Then why is your front desk person asking??? I had requested for a call back or a working phone number on my first email!!! Nonetheless, the doctor called me, she said she was not going to refill his prescriptions, (she had reduced his prescriptions to half and his going through a withdrawal) and she told me to go To the clinic that she referred me to since they accept walk ins! Save your money, time and energy and find a GOOD doctor, listen to all the negative reviews, I didn’t want to believe it at first, but they are so true. Not worth your time and energy! Update: their phone has been disconnected for 2 weeks! I send an email...hopefully they will see it! This is UNREAL! My son suffers from anxiety and depression. I took him to this doctor, for the first time 2 months ago. First it was an issue to get with the front counter to send the prescriptions to the correct pharmacy, 1 voicemail, 4 or 5 phone conversations and I had to drive all the way to the office to get them to change the pharmacy!!! Second it took 4 weeks for the doctor to email me his psychological evaluation. Now, the doctor cut my sons prescription to half (he has been taken the same doses for 4 years) no idea why she cut it, but now he’s going through a horrible withdrawal. I am really afraid to call this place because I know it will be a nightmare to get something done. Also appointments are only 10 minutes long. I will update my review if anything changes for the better. Just be cautious when choosing a good doctor, this one has not impress me at all. Dr. Khurana is wonderful. She is very caring and takes time to listen. I never wait long for my appointment and her staff is professional and helpful.
Dr. Khurana is the real deal. It would be really hard for me to oversell what her care means to my household. Day one she made an impact. Her high degree of organization creates a personal touch that's also efficient with my time. It's icing on the cake that the office staff, especially Aubrey, reflects her attitude. It's easy to tell this is their passion. Very highly recommend! Dr. Khurana is the real deal. It would be really hard for me to oversell what her care means to my household. In Dr. Khurana, I found a psychiatrist who looked me in the eyes and who listened. Who spent more than 10 minutes conversing. I am impressed by her approach and how she connected based upon my issues. I highly recommend Dr. Khurana.
Very knowledgeable and practical doctor. My 18-year-old daughter has been suffering with severe mood swings and psychosis for over five years. She also has ADHD Dr. accurately diagnosed and treated her condition with very positive results.
While the medical care may be adequate, Dr. Khurana is woefully under-supported by an indifferent staff. The front desk seems incapable of relaying a message, feedback requested by the doctor herself, despite multiple attempts at communication. When after four separate calls the receptionist(April) finally closes the loop with the doctor, the answer is a recital of policy (cannot make medicine changes without a follow up appointment), I am left wondering why almost a week went by before this non-medical answer was provided. In addition, should an immediate cessation of medication be the recommended response (as it was), why was I left to my own devices going into the weekend with no guidence? The response? The receptionist snorted, said go to the emergency room and and literally hung up. When the Doctors office relies on you seeking medical care elsewhere rather than answer the question, then you should take their advice and find another doctor. So do what the doctor prescribed and find yourself good medical care.Elsewhere While the medical care may be adequate, Dr. Khurana is woefully under-supported by an indifferent staff. … More
She is always late. You need to wait a really long time to see her. And she has a very condescending vibe to her which makes talking to her very intimidating and uncomfortable. She doesn't care about what side effects you experience with the medication she prescribes and she even prescribed the wrong medication for me. During my session she would be doing other work. She made me and my dad feel unimportant and easily dismissed. Since getting a new psychiatrist I started to actually feel better. She is a great doctor listen to what you going through
Dr. Khurana is the first doctor I have seen about my sons adhd. He has been going for about a year now and has done a complete 180 at school and home attitude. She is always very welcoming when it comes to his little brother tagging along for the appointment (if I can’t find a babysitter). She listened to my wants when it came to medication and what I didnt want for my son and she asks him about himself and his wants and needs if anything about the medication bothers him. She is very attentive and engaging. My son feels very comfortable with her and speaking to her it has overall be a great experience, at the office, at home and at school since he has become a patient! This has been the best experience for myself and my daughter. The atmosphere is always pleasant. There is never a long wait time. I never have problems getting an appointment. The doctor is always nice and accommodating. She takes the time to really listen and understand. I would definitely recommend this office. ???????????? I came to this woman in tears begging for help. She spoke to me for less than two minutes before giving me a diagnosis that I'd had in the past that went against what every doctor I'd had after had told me. All i asked was for her to tell me what criteria made her come to that conclusion and she immediately refused to speak further, saying "if you don't understand why that's your diagnosis this won't work". I was stunned. I asked her if she was seriously denying to see me, not because I was arguing or refusing her treatment but because i simply asked what made her feel that way? She told me i had done nothing wrong but it was her right to refuse a patient and this wouldn't work. I asked if she could at least give me some meds until I could find a new doctor because i wasn't well. She said "I'm not prescribing medication to someone who isn't my patient". Sent away suicidal with nothing, omw to the hospital now after cutting for the first time in over 7 years
Terrible doctor, totally disinterested.
The front desk staff was pleasant and the office was bright and welcoming. Dr. Khurana was not very upbeat or positive. During the visit, she didn't appear to understand the African American culture and she didn't present any cultural-specific approaches related to my child's diagnosis. She referred my child to a local hospital for inpatient treatment that didn't take our insurance (which she knew), when outpatient worked well. After insisting that she prescribe medication while our family discussed inpatient treatment, she prescribed one that her colleague recommended against. Her office charged a fee for calling in a Rx refill, as my child was out of state when his Rx ran out, and Dr. Khurana required a follow-up appointment. It took 4 calls & 7 days to get the Rx refilled. Overall, Dr. Khurana is pleasant, but if you're looking for a psychiatrist to REALLY work with you and your family to identify approaches other than inpatient treatment, you should look for another psychiatrist.
Clean office, nice staff. She is usually late due to coming directly from the hospital so just know that it will be a 30-45 min wait. NBD as long as you know ahead of time.
She is very unprofessional came to her with a friend of mine and she was tardy my friend felt like the doctor just tried to rush the session my friend never return I recommend if you seriously need help do not go to her find somebody who is professional and on time
If punctuality is important to you, do you not go here. I arrived at my appointment at the scheduled time of 230. there was one other woman with her child waiting in the waiting room, 245 rolls around I ask her what time her appointment was at she says 245, at this point another woman and her child walks and I ask her what time her appointment as she says three. The kind woman at the front desk informed us that the doctor was running late and that should be there in 15 minutes. I start to chat with the other two women in there and they told me that they’ve had to wait at least an hour or more for their appointment every time. While I, the woman and her 12-year-old son, and the woman with a toddler are sitting and waiting, there are super explicit versions of songs playing, I guess as just lobby music? Now, I do not mind profanity and vulgar language at all but I do not think it is appropriate for children! 330 rolls around and the doctor comes in finally, I’m first to see her. I ask if she’s OK if there was some kind of emergency or something she says “no I just also work at the hospital. Some people only do appointments like this but I work at the hospital and sometimes I am running late, and it that is a problem for you then you might need to find another psychiatrist“ I tell her I definitely will need to find a new psychiatrist, asked for a refill on my prescriptions, and tell her about the explicit songs playing, she scoffed at me and did not say goodbye as I left. 100% unprofessional and pretty rude if I’m being honest. If you value your time I would not use her or if you do, show up to your appointment and hour late because that’s how long you’re going to have to wait anyway If punctuality is important to you, do you not go here. Pay mind to the reviews because I didn't. If I did I would have noticed the red flags before driving so far to see her. She has no punctuality. She was late to my first appointment and even with that I still had to wait for her to burn through the other people waiting who had been waiting an hour or more for their appointments only to be rushed out a few minutes later. She was very kind to me on the first visit, but it seemed as I described my issues that she got uncomfortable. She made me feel like I was annoying her, like I was a waste of time. The second time I saw her she had the compassion and charisma of an unfeeling ghost. She was very behind on patients(and patience) and rushed my visit. I spent a good deal of money just to spend less than 10 minutes with her. She referred me to her therapist friend next door, opened the door, sat back down and said have a nice day without even looking at me. Somehow that was enough time to determine that my dosage needed to be quadrupled and that I specifically needed to see her therapist friend who works in the same building. If you have mild issues I imagine she's great, much like how a bartender is great to someone who really needs a drink. The thing is though that the bartender doesn't care what happens to you, isn't liable for your suffering and regardless of your health is leaving with money in hand. She prescribes medication that isn't covered at all by the insurance she takes. You shouldn't leave the psychiatrist feeling like you made a mistake seeking help. She made me feel that way. Dr. Khurana saved my life - she is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to depression, anxiety, and eating disorders in adults.
Dr. Khurana is awesome. Yes very friendly and understanding. Dr. Khurana Care more for her clients than she does insurance.
I love Dr. Khurana. She's so understanding and it's obvious she will do anything to help her patients. She's very to the point which I like. She's a problem solver, and will get you the help you need. Also I LOVE the front desk staff. Both ladies I have encountered are just so sweet and funny. Just a great atmosphere in the office. I think it is common practice for a new patient to show up at least 15 min before their first appointment with a new doctor to fill out forms and such, which I did. Unfortunately I had to wait 1 hour over my appointment time (1 hour 15 min total) to meet with Dr. Khurana due to her not even being present in her office. When Dr Khurana did show up she was apologetic for her tardiness but still pushed to still have a session (we were initially slotted for 1 hour session). I told her that because she was so late I had limited time due to a previous engagement (2 hours after initial appointment time) and that we should reschedule, to which she replied, ‘let’s see what we can get through...’ I spoke for at least 10 min giving my background and motivation for therapy, to which she (in my opinion assessed a shot-gun therepy) gave a quick assessment, giving me samples for anti depressants with minimal questions and I was left thinking this was a good gesture because we only spoke for 20-25 minutes because of aforementioned time constraints. To my surprise I was charged for a full session.... I wish I had gone with my instinct to leave initially or reschedule instead of being taken advantage of.... She sends my medications straight to the pharmacy for same day refills, and she is willing to schedule emergency appointments when needed. Dr. Khurana is a knowledgable psychiatrist who is willing to answer questions--you just have to be willing to ask them.
Dr Khurana has been absolutely wonderful and listens to all my needs and concerns. She definitely has been a life saver for me because I really struggled with the idea of going back on meds when I had been off for so long but because she listen to my concerns and address them in a timely manner I can say that the medicine I am on has helped me tremendously as well as my husband. I love coming here and look forward to coming to my appointments because she is very understanding and listens to me. She is a mom too and totally understands how life can be crazy with kids and I totally understand that so I make sure to be respectful of that when she maybe running behind a little.
