I am truly unhappy with the operation that Dr. Chen performed on me. Firstly, I received gynecomastia surgery from him. The first round, he left too much glandular tissue in my chest, leaving it looking the same as before. I addressed my concern with it and he seemed frustrated the whole time. He offered a revision surgery. However, they still charged me for the revision. Most surgeons offer a free revision with results this poor. After my revision, I could still tell that he left glandular tissue behind. The cost of revision was ridiculous. So, I decided to go under local anesthesia, which proved to be quite painful. Dr. Chen butchered both of my surgery’s, charged me for a revision, and shrugged off my concerns. I do not recommend Dr. Chen.

This doctor ruined my sister-in-law’s life. He did a breast augmentation that left her lopsided, saggy and with huge scars. I think his five star reviews are fakes. I would never go to him after how my whole family is upset. He botched her surgery.

Everything about the Plastic Surgery Center and Dr Chen gave excellent results.

Dr Chen was my surgeon, Ashley was my preop nurse, and Rachel was my postop nurse! They were all INCREDIBLE, patient, and I’m SO HAPPY I chose Dr Chen and his team!

Had a consultation and immediately scheduled surgery. I was very impressed with Dr Chen. He is very kind and professional and I had no doubts at all. He and his staff are truly amazing! I had minimal pain and scarring. I am very pleased with the results!

Let me start off by saying that in spite of reading all the excellent reviews about Dr. Chen, I was nervous about having a mini face lift. Let's be clear: we only have one face and we can't hide it. I am writing this review to put all those who have the same concerns at ease. Dr. Chen is a consummate professional and what I liked the most was his conservative approach. From the moment you walk into the surgical facility, ALL the staff is empathetic , gentle and are caring. By the time I was wheeled into the OR I knew I had made the best choice. Kudos to Ashley, Amanda, Rachel and Dr. Brown. I am six days out and no bruising nor pain just tenderness which is to be expected. Managed the pain with Tylenol without any issues. I was truly unhappy with my visit with Dr.Chen. I was absolutely nervous to begin with but many people I know have went to him for this procedure so I set up the consultation because I heard great things about him. He walked into the room and just seemed to not be a friendly guy, he looked at me for a couple minutes. Never measured never asked me what look I was going for. Told me that I had a small frame so I wouldn’t be able to go to the 450 I tried on that I liked. I understand he had been doing this for many years but it was unprofessional to not even get measurements or talk about different types of profiles. I spent maybe 8-10 minutes with him total, I felt rushed or maybe I was being treated this way because he was having a bad day but I went home crying and thought about just not going through with the surgery all together because if I couldn’t have what I wanted what was the point in paying all that money. He was short with me, he was basically lecturing me about if I went to big I could have a uniboob which I get is a valid concern but it didn’t seem he wanted to hear me out. I understand he is more conservative but I would have at least liked options. So I decided to get a second opinion with Dr.knotts which works at the same facility, and he really listened and talked with me, tried to get to know me and what my goals were and worked with me to get what I wanted. I went up maybe a whole cup size from what dr Chen was offering and I am so glad I got that second opinion. Dr.knotts changed my life!!! Dr.Chen was rude and unprofessional I my opinion, bad day or not, I should have not been treated that way. ????????‍♀️ If I could give him 0 stars I would.

He doesn’t know how to do a breast augmentation. He leaves big scars and your breasts end up uneven. He has lots of five star reviews, but many are left on the same dates. Don’t trust him with your body.

I had liposuction on my thighs and I did not receive a support garment. I got up the next morning and went to Walmart to purchase a support garment. My thighs were hurting so bad but felt 100% better after putting on the support garment. The doctor and staff were very nice.

I am a 71-year-old woman who had the very good fortune of choosing Dr. Chen to be my plastic surgeon for a mini facelift. I knew that Dr. Chen was eminently qualified and experienced and that past patients were highly pleased with their results. I am now one of those patients. Beyond his surgical expertise, Dr. Chen has a warm and personable demeanor that enabled me to feel immediately at ease before, during, and after surgery. I had begun to feel self-conscious about excess neck skin and sagging jowls which didn’t match my otherwise fairly youthful physique. No more! Recovery was a breeze, and I now have a firm chin line and a very happy neck. In addition to the mini facelift, Dr. Chen also expertly removed a small cyst below my ear which had been a minor annoyance for over a decade. As it turned out, the cyst was actually a low-grade carcinoma for which I am now receiving treatment with a very positive prognosis. Thus, it really isn’t possible for me to over-state the gratitude I feel for Dr. Chen. I’m close to 12 weeks post op with my surgery by Doctor Chen. I’m very impressed with my results and my recovery. Doctor Chen’s office has been very helpful with any questions that I had before during & after surgery. It was nice to send a text and get a response back very quickly. I also had to contact Doctor Chen by leaving a voicemail and he called me back immediately after he was out of surgery. Do not use this doctor. The good reviews are mostly left by his staff. Search the other sites for the one star reviews, which are usually hidden at the back. Those are the real victims (patients). I was not happy with Dr Chen and my whole breast augmentation experience. He seem to not care about his patients and it showed during the consultation. I should’ve went with my guts and not follow through but I was young and didn’t do my research well enough. During consultation we were discussing sizes and he suggested me a certain size which I wasn’t too sure about so I asked to go bigger and his attitude towards it was not happy in his tone of voice. After my procedure Dr Chen did not stop by the recovery room to see me and how I was doing. I also didn’t get any after care packages such as the support bra I’ve seen almost every surgeon uses. During the check up visit I was concern on my scar and instead of offering me scar treatments or suggestions he said it was fine and needed time to heal. I Came back after a few months because I was concern on my scar still and instead of offering me this scar sheet he had he went ahead and charged me for them. I paid my whole procedure full in cash & to me it seem like he only cares about the money. My breast was small and saggy before from breast feeding and thought this procedure would lift my self esteem which it didn’t. My breast are still saggy, doesn’t look as if I had it done except the size. My breast now droops to the side of my arm which makes it uncomfortable at times. Also in the picture below is How my scar looks today and it really bothers me when wearing certain bikinis or shirts. Dr. Chen has done multiple procedures for me over the past 13 years. The results have all been fantastic and have held up over time. He has an excellent demeanor and explains everything in easy to understand terminology. His whole staff is very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend him to anyone looking to have any surgeries.

Excellent consultation. Dr. Chen took the time to research a health issue that I had and called me personally to discuss. He cares about his patients and really took the time to make sure I would not have any complications.

Dr. Chen is fantastic! He is very pleasant, unassuming, and doesn't try to upsell. I had a zplasty to remove some excess skin and couldn't be happier with the result. Procedure was done under local anesthesia and I experienced no post-op pain. The staff at the Institute and surgery center were top notch. Highly recommend!

I will never have plastic surgery anywhere else! Dr. Chen took the time in my consultation to really put my mind at ease and listen thoroughly to what I expected for my results and then he absolutely exceeded them. I had my surgery during COVID when no one was allowed to go into the surgery center with patients. To say I was nervous was an understatement. Dr. Chen and the staff really took the time to help me feel more comfortable before surgery and even after when I was waking up and leaving. His follow-up was thorough and his information on my recovery was so beneficial. They even thoroughly explained to my husband all the thing he needed to do to help with my recovery and make it as smooth as possible. My follow up visits went smoothly and all of my minor concerns were addressed without making me feel like they were not important. When I saw myself without my bandages for the first time after surgery, I was in tears. I could not be happier with my results!

Dr. Chen explained very carefully why he did not recommend surgery for me. Another plastic surgeon from Calif. just had his nurse call and say no with no explanation. Dr. Chen's breadth and depth of knowledge, his gentle manner and no rush approach makes him my favorite physician of all time.

Called about a consultation with a referral from my PCP, staff answering the phone was not only condescending and rude, but actually stopped answering my questions halfway through the call and just stopped talking to me all together. Will be looking elsewhere. I Guess my money is no good there.

Dr. Chen thinks it’s a good idea to have you wake up during surgery while your face is still being stitched up. He actually does this on purpose and feels it’s a good idea.

I had the upper and lower blepharoplasty by Dr. Chen on April 2, 2021. I was always told how tired I looked. (I did look tired) All I can say is - Thank you! I have been wanting to do this surgery for more than 13 years, I finally was able to do it. I am at 6 weeks after surgery now and I am very happy with the results already. Dr. Chen is very popular and was booked out further than I wanted to wait, so the staff recommended I see Dr. Knotts. I had a wonderful experience. He is so friendly, thorough and set me at ease. I had my BA with Dr Chen about 6 weeks ago. It was one of the best decisions I have made. I was very careful about who I chose for this procedure, because I have never had surgery before. Dr Chen is very considerate of the body. I'm so happy I listened to his advice. His techniques are gentle. I had little to no bruising, and also only experienced a low level of pain (only needed Tylenol). His staff is great as well; everyone was very sweet from beginning to end. Dr. Chen is an excellent and knowledgeable surgeon who works with a kind and patient staff, not only at his office, but also at the surgery center he uses. I love the fact that he stays on top of the safety and effectiveness of the procedures that he does. Dr. Chen did both my implant and explant surgeries and both went very, very well. After my explant surgery, Dr. Chen personally called me to see how I was doing. I would highly recommend Dr. Chen for any cosmetic procedure your wanting to have.

My wife and I have each had a surgical procedure performed by Dr Chen. As always, including my most recent office visit, he has been very friendly, professional and takes time to listen and to you and answers your questions and concerns .I have never felt rush He gives a fairly detailed explanation regarding the entire procedure from pre op, intra op and post op information, including the anesthesia. If there are choices on your procedure he will give you the pro and cons of each and his recommendation. Ultimately he will go with your wishes. He is an outstanding surgeon. My wife and I are very pleased with our results. Consequently these are the reasons I am scheduled for this procedure with him. I have worked as an Anesthesia provider since 1979. I don't believe I have ever seen or worked with a better plastic surgeon than Dr Chen. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Chen and his staff were absolutely amazing! They were so kind and helpful from beginning to end. This was my first surgery and I was very nervous, I had lots of questions and they didn't make me feel rushed. I had a mommy makeover and the surgery came out better than I had expected. I received a breast lift, areola reduction, lipo on my bra rolls and flanks, and a tummy tuck. I had a lot of technical procedures all in the same appointment, I can tell Dr. Chen spent the time and attention to detail to make sure I had minimal scars and everything was symmetrical. My body looks like it did before I had my baby! I was close to my target weight and though mommy makeover's are not weight loss surgery (I lost 8lbs) I look a lot more proportionate and healthy than before. I also used to have lower back pain which I now no longer have after my surgery. I've been doing ab workouts and can see my six pack forming. It's a really wonderful feeling to have my body back!

Meet with Dr. Chen and his staff and I was nervous about the consultation but Dr. Chen was very knowledgeable and helped me understand the procedure which made me feel more comfortable. He was patient and kind and took his time.

Dr Chen did surgery on our one year old for a dermoid cyst on his brow that was pushing down his eyelid. We were scared, but he needed it removed. Dr Chen operated on my left hand in 1995 after a severe vehicle accident on duty as police officer. believe it was a trapezium resection. I still am pain free and never seemed to have lost any function of my thumb. I had decided at the time to not have the same surgery on my right thumb due to possibility of loss of strength. I wish i had opted for procedure on my right thumb, as now i have almost no use of that thumb. If Dr chen was in network with my insurance, i would definitely go back

I was extremely nervous/excited going into my search for a qualified PS. Once I met with Dr. Chen and his staff for my consultation, I immediately felt excited and the worry disappeared. I'm only a couple of weeks post op and I am already loving my results and boosted confidence. Thank you to Dr. Chen and his staff for everything!

Got my breast lift with augmentation in 2012 and my husband is still in awe. Tells me they are beautiful and perfect all the time. I absolutely love them. I recommend Dr Chen to everyone who asks.

I don't even know where to start to tell you how wonderful these healthcare professionals are but they treated me so good. I had a special case in two ways. First, I already take a special type of pain medication that makes other pain medications not work. So Dr. Chen had to figure out how to keep me out of pain. He got some exparel from a rep that is similar to lidocaine but long acting. It lasts for 3 days. He I injected it into my abdomen during surgery to help control my pain after surgery. Second, my muscles were pretty much mangled after having two large babies with polyhydramnios. He stated that my muscles were in the top ten worst he's seen. He pulled them in ten inches! That must not have been easy but my abdominoplasty looks wonderful. Dr. Chen and his staff are kind and really care about their patients and I highly recommend them. Skilled surgeon! He performed a facelift and blepharoplasty on me and both came out amazing. I would highly recommend him

The staff addressed my concerns immediately, was quick to schedule my necessary appointments (same day service initially) and Dr. Chen was professional, competent and kind!

Dr. Chen is absolutely the best in the city! I've been going to him for all of my needs and I'm always satisfied. His staff is friendly and easy to talk to and they always make sure to answer all of your questions and address any concerns. Dr. Chens work is amazing I cannot express how happy I am with my results!!

I really liked going to Dr. Chen. I was apprehensive at first and I really don't like surgery or needles but I had a situation that needed to be addressed. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to talk with me before the surgery. I was very impressed with the results afterwards. His staff is also very attune to patient needs.

I had my procedure with Dr. Chen 1 year ago now. I must say, it took me years to make the decision to consider this surgery. I don't know why I waited so long!! I have absolutely ZERO regrets! My entire experience was so comfortable and I was treated with the upmost dignity and respect. I knew exactly what to expect in my recovery. I am even able to wear a bikini now... I am feeling better about myself then I even did in my 20's. This entire experience has even motivated me to take better care of myself, improving my health and physical strength every day. I had my breast augmentation consultation with Dr. Chen yesterday and felt EXTREMELY comfortable with him and his staff. He answered all of my questions and spent time explaining to me what breast augmentation will fix and won't fix on my body so that I won't have unrealistic expectations in the end. Which I know I won't, but it's always more comforting knowing something right away and not getting any surprises in the end. We are all made so differently. I will soon schedule my surgery with Dr. Chen once I'm able to take time off from work. I recently had surgery with Dr. Chen and the result is even better than I expected, though I knew I was in skilled hands. This was my second procedure with him. I had done my homework and brought an entire page of questions to my consultation and he answered every one, patiently and clearly. He gave me realistic expectations that were in line with the result I desired so I looked no further. Surgery can be a little intimidating but I found his quietly competent demeanor to be very reassuring. His office staff is pleasant and helpful, too. I'm happy to recommend him.
