Dr S was my Dr for 12+ years. We had a great give and take patient dr relationship. Now that he has joined this Drs group, I am a statistic and no longer an individual person that he knows or cares for. Under the new regime, what was an annual visit over the last 8 years was to become 4 times a year with labs and follow up. Why? Had there been a change in my health, I could understand and accept it. Sadly, I can not afford the out of pocket expense the new changes will make. If I had the money I would gladly pay, but I don’t, so my life will soon take a drastic turn for no real good reason other than annual visits don’t fill the coffer. I know big brother has everything to do with why actual good doctors can no longer be healers, it’s just a sad situation all the way around. Dr S was my Dr for 12+ years. Made my first appointment. Went in reporting two issues and armed with most recent blood test results and a document containing my medical history for 10+ years. The Dr. proceeded to tell of all his schooling, experience and accomplishments - effectively explaining how wonderful he was. This took most of our time. Then he asked me what I was seeing him for. The first issue he said I needed to see another doctor. He never addressed the second issue. Then he suggested I have an A1C test and another test, both which I had recently done and were provided in the document I gave him. After saying something like "Oh" he then asked about allergies. Interesting that an Allergist is in the same office. So, I got nothing for my time and effort. He got paid. Made my first appointment. Dr. Shectman has literally been a life saver as far as I am concerned. By the Grace of God I chose him as my primary care physician when I moved to Lake Placid. He has always directed me to the best specialist concerning the findings of all my tests . So far they have found that I had three different areas that were cancer. Iam blessed now to be cancer free and I have the ease of mind to know that I have the best Dr. that I have ever had watching over my health concerns. I always feel that way about the entire staff. Terrific staff all around. Very short wait times, if any. Dr. Shechtman is a good listener and seems to be a genuine, caring person. Everyone I know that goes to him loves him. I just do not understand how anyone could say anything bad about him, his staff, or his office.

Soon after putting up my 1st post i rcvd a call frm unknown number frm doctor neil office. This time it was a young man to argue with my husband to make another appointment. RIPP OFF Multiple Appointmdnts then get Mad when you wont agree? What gives here?Very Unprofessional at least. Rude No Respect for Older people!!! I at this point will file a complaint with Medicare plus Medical Board in Tallahassee. Your office is Nasty Plus Staff. People Stay Far Away from this place you have been warned!! Ive been a patient here for about 7 months because he was close and my medicare covered this guy. BEWARE: the lady answering the phone is a very,very rude person along with this they tried to draw my blood and stuck me 6 time without success until i said No More!!! Long Wait Times and lobby/ waiting room are Nasty like they haven't been cleaned in Month's!!! Besides all of this they want to keep giving me multiple unnecessary appointments to try and drain the money out of you!! If you choose to go there please look at all the dust on baseboards and dirty walls the receptionist attitude matches very complementary. Beware you have been Warned!!! Our dogs Veterinarian Clinic is Alot better than this place and the staff at the Vet is friendly and has respect for elderly people. I highly recommend Dr. Shechtman. He cares about his patients, several times he has saved my husband's life. He doesn't sugar coat the problem and wont stop until he has the solution. Many Dr.,s are quick to just give you a pill, but not Dr. Shechtman, and I admire that about him, he wont contribute to the opioid problem in our country. Now for his staff, THEY ARE GREAT. Dr. Shechtman and his staff are not only professional, but very knowledgeable and attentive. I have been a patient for many years and would agree there is no sugar coating, but an excellent Doctor with lots of patience and knowledge. If he encounters an issue that is out of his specialty, he will refer you to a specialist. Bloodwork is a must when you take medications on a regular basis, this prevents severe complications down the road. They are always on top of my healthcare and I couldn't be more satisfied. Wonderful

Dr Shetchman is a great doctor! Not only has he helped me, but if it weren't for him neither of my parents would still be here! He really cares and takes the time to not only listen to his patients, but he is thorough in explaining things. He treats his patients like family! I'm thankful that I found him and that he's my doctor!!

Dr. Shechtman is the best. He's been my doctor for over 18 years and has never once failed me. Always there when needed. Make sure I'm all caught up with necessary screenings, shots, etc. Has seen me through colon cancer, dvt, shingles, high blood pressure, etc. He is my doctor!

Dr. Shechtman has been my doctor for 19 years and is responsible for helping me survive to the rip old age of 80. His caring and intuitive manner gives me great confidence in his practice. The fact is that he is the very best physician I have ever had in my life.

I am an RN and I would not use this physician's office. The staff and doctor do not return phone calls and flat out refused to assist with completing disability forms due to a severe illness. They make it seem like taking care of their patients is a hassle and they can't be bothered to help when things get difficult.

If I could give NO stars, I would. I did not like this guy from my first visit, but he was close & my husband thought he was okay. I had been seeing him now for just shy of 2 years. Not one appointment did I come out & felt heard or cared about. I have a 20 year degenerative condition that requires a lot of meds. He’s never checked to see if it has morphed into something worse in 2 years! And it has. I suspect MS but my blood test showed a critical potassium deficiency (which I found & had to bring it to HIS attenBtion). I ended up in the hospital (not by his order, took myself due to gastric incident). Heart, potassium & gut all involved. Nightmare. I called his office & meh couldn’t care less. Unable to walk when discharged. In a wheelchair severe muscular issues. In the passed 2 months, he stopped prescribing Methocarbamol. So I suffer with muscle spasms & muscle guarding (muscles turn to concrete). Very painful. IF YOU ARE IN PAIN—STEER CLEAR. He’s afraid or doesn’t want the responsibility of caring for pain patients. Very nice and caring office staff. Dr. Shectman is a no nonsense Let's get you better old time doctor. Yet has a pleasant side about him. I like him.

My husband and I have been his patients for approximately 5 years. We are 100% satisfied and have referred people to him.

Dr. Shechtman is one of the best Physicians that I have ever used for my own personal care. He is through and in depth on my care and treatment. He takes the time to explain any and all issues that I have had and also, very good with referral Physicians that I have required. I completely reccommend him highly to anyone looking for a personal Physician.

They will not see me for an exam because they are friends with the doctor that fired me for calling her a liar when she lied. they refused to see me and if they have some other reason they would not tell me what it is . but they have never met me. I have never talk to them either. So anything they think they know about me is not true and they haven’t even seen for themselves who I really am. they will not tell me what it is. I don’t think that is in compliance with HIPPA and i am very ill. Now I’ll have to drive over 20 minutes for a doctor appointment even though I can barely see and I’m very very sick . Blood test scams, require visit every 3 months with appt to review. Most docs call with abnormal. This his bread and butter. Will be reported. Staff make incompetent billing, filing and lab mistakes. Bill multiple times for same visit. Get receipt, they don’t ask for copay you must request to pay it. . Reporting this Doc to DEA, insurance, medical board, Florida Dept of health. Really enjoy going there.Close to town.Doctor is very informative and yes..They care!

Dr. Neil Shechtman is a great doctor. He listens, addresses the problems,tells you it's up to you if you want to get better or not that he will not push the issue. In other words he tells how it is. His staff are nice and friendly , office is clean. The best part is your in and out waiting time is Max's 15 minutes. Not bad. Hope this helps.

Dr. Shechtman was a very poor choice for my condition, which needs constant monitoring and med adjustments. If I hadn't understood my own condition as well as I do, at one point he made an adjustment that could have seriously impacted my health. I immediately changed doctors.

He is a great Doctor for blood tests, that is about it. The staff is incompetent and when help is needed he sends the patient out to someone else after taking the copay and office visit from the insurance. The DR. he referred me to took 8 - 10 weeks to get in touch with me. I had to find a Dr on my own to treat a simple problem.

I agree with the other review that said he is a rare breed doctor. He is a healer and listens to what you and your body have to say. The healthcare system in the USA could be the best in the world, but with all the pharma greed, corruption and over regulation from big brother it is all just a hot mess. Dr Shechtman keeps it real and that is just one of the many things that makes him one of the rare, great and dependable doctors.

Dr. Shechtman is AMAZING! I hate going to the Dr. and he makes it actually enjoyable. He listened to me and ask questions to know more about me and my needs. He did not hesitate to refer me where I needed to go to get all my needs taken care of and the fact that he can do labs in office is a HUGE plus for me!

While I wish he would spend a wee bit more time with me, he has diagnosed my issues, and has, on occasion referred me to a specialist such as an orthopedic surgeon. I highly recommend him and his way of building trust and rapport with his patients. It's obvious that he cares. AND real people answer the phone in his office and get answers to your questions or concerns! There are no robots to deal with or Press 7 if you're a cat lover; Press 8 if you prefer goldfish etc.!!!
