Dr. Nitasha Larisma Burney

Dr.Burney was excellent at my 1st visit today. She listened and answered all of my questions. Very attentive, patient and kind. Didn't rush me out of her office like other Doctors tend to do with most patients. I highly recommend her, 10 STARS ???? ????????????????????????????????????

Dr. Burney is very patient, and knowledgeable. She is very easy to talk to, and makes you feel that we are working as a team to get this medical issue solved.

5 stars is not enough for Dr. Burney. She is thorough and listens. She is compassionate and her bedside manner is impeccable. I would recommend her to everyone

The PCP you didn’t realize you needed and always wanted! I haven’t had a Primary Care Physician in quite some time. Sure I had my OB/GYN, My dentist, my optometrist, my dermatologist, hell I even had me a handy dandy chiropractor lol, but for some reason I’d never committed to finding a primary care physician after leaving college and transitioning into adulthood. Maybe it was due to the complicated relationship of black women and the American healthcare system. With the blatant disparities and my personal experiences, I wasn’t running with open arms to give it another go. I wanted to be sure I found the right doctor for me and my overall well-being. Well ladies and gentlemen I can assure you that Dr. Burney was well worth the wait! I couldn’t be more pleased with her bedside manner, her patience, communication skills, and most importantly her undeniable sense of care for me during my visit. As you can tell, I’m a chatty patient, and not once did she make me feel rushed or like she had better or more important business elsewhere, although I’m certain she did. She answered all of my questions, listen to all of my goals and concerns, even the non-medical ones lol. She took time to give her personal and professional feedback. Her personality was so radiant, and her professionalism and expertise was reassuring. If all that wasn’t enough, her nurse, Nurse Beth, was a walking comedy show! The two of them combined melted away any anxiety, uncertainty, and skepticism I may have had in the beginning. I can confidently say that as long as I’m in the Metro Atlanta Area. I’ll drive from whatever side of town to see Dr. Burney and Nurse Beth. So, if you’re in the area looking for someone you can feel safe and secure with, especially if you’re a black woman who may not have felt seen, heard, respected or valued in your medical experiences like me, then you should definitely do the same! Dr. Burney was my previous PCP, what a wonderful and knowledgeable doctor. I've never felt completely comfortable with any doctor but Dr. Burney has such a welcoming spirit that automatically gives you a sense of security and you feel safe in her care. I honestly feel like driving all the way to Cobb County to continue working with her. She has set the bar high for all the doctors you come in contact with. Dr. Burney was my PCP years ago and I have yet to find PCP like her. Her bedside manner is unmatched and I never felt rushed during my visits. I'm tempted to pay the out of network rate just to receive the level of care she provides.

I see Dr. Burney yearly for checkups and any other time I am under the weather. She is always super friendly and thorough, and takes the time to make sure she covers all of my questions. I would definitely recommend her!

I’ve seen Dr. Burney twice both via Video. In March I needed to have a mammogram and made an appointment with Nitisha Burney. My insurance company suggested I get 3-D imaging done. Instead Nitisha Burney ignored my request and ordered a diagnostic ultrasound of one breast. She ignored my family history and she ignored my concerns. Today I discovered that my Other breast has a clear discharge and given my history I am being seen today by another Dr. She never read my records - had no idea I wear an insulin pump or that I had heart surgery. 2nd visit she ignored me, resented my questions and wanted to start messing with a regimen that’s taken 2 years to perfect. If you see her, p,ease make sure you felt a second opinion. She is an arrogant, hateful medical tragedy waiting to happen.

Dr. Burney is an exceptional doctor. She really takes her time to answer all of your questions and concerns.

Went to see Natasha Burney M.D. at Wellstar as a new patient. Upon check in, I supplied my insurance and ID and answered receptionist’s questions. She then directed me to sign electronically a small screen in front of me on the check in desk. I asked “What am I signing?” (An attorney once advised me to never sign a document without reading what I’m signing). The receptionist then pulled out from under her desk a 2 page laminated document and directed me to sit down and read it. When I got up and went to the desk to ask a question, a woman told me that Dr. Burney would not see me because I ‘had issues with the check in process’. I asked if someone had gone back in the exam area and said something to the doctor about me. The people at the desk did not answer. I said that this reflected poorly on Wellstar. I’ve been a patient with a wonderful Wellstar oncologist for years. I think this situation meets Healthgrades review conditions of having had experience with a doctor?

My husband and I had been patients in this office for over 10 years. Recently, I had the misfortune of having an appointment with Dr. Burney and to make a long story short, my appointment with Dr. Burney was horrible that my husband and I ended our relationship with this practice. I’m so relieved to have a competent Dr. now that is able to treat me like the human being I am and answer all my questions about my medications. Dr. Burney’s handling of my situation was horrific. I can’t give details as to the personal nature of the situation. Needless to say, Dr. Burney was the worst Dr. Appointment I ever had and I wouldn’t recommend her to anyone. She instructed me to take medication I was already taking, and never asked me what I was currently taking. Her incompetence and treating adults in a condescending and rude manner is what stands out the most.

This morning I had a new patient exam with Dr. Burney and she met my expectations. I came prepared and had a list of any concerns I had and she listened and made me feel heard. She was careful to ensure that she answered all my questions and ensure I didn’t leave with any lingering ones. Finding s PCP that you trust is difficult and at 31 it was time lol Looking forward to a continued relationship as my doctor.

I do not recommend Dr. Burney, as well. She did not care about my concerns. If I had waited for her, I would not be here to right this review today. We were always on time and respected the time of the professionals working with this physician. When I did express my complaint, she dismissed it did not take it seriously. Needless to say, I had to be hospitalized. She may have checked on me once. My husband and I will never forget this negative and non-caring doctor.

I started out with Dr. Burney 2005 until December 2018. I love and miss her so much. She is the best doctor I have ever had. I always feel comfortable with her knowing that whatever she says is to help me. She listen to your problems and make a sound decision on how to address and deal with your problem. Really miss her and sorry to have seen her leave. Happy for her and her decision. Recommend her highly. Bea 2019

She is the best Doctor Ive ever had! I'm happy that life is taking her in a different direction but sad that she will no longer be my Doctor. God Bless You in all your future endeavors, dear.

I've been going to Dr. Burney for over ten years and never had a bad experience. The physicals are generally scheduled far in advance, but if I need a last minute appointment I can always get one. She's very thorough and has a wealth of knowledge.

I will NEVER recommend Dr.Burney. I have been a patient for years never had an issue all of a sudden when I want to set up an appoint not able to schedule one for 2-3 months. Then she wants me to make an appointment just so she can sign the paperwork for medicine that I NEED. When I called I stressed to her staff that I needed to get a prescription refill only for them to leave a nasty message saying they will not refill my medicine. I am disgusted and hurt and will be finding a new doctor.
