Do NOT see his practice! Went there almost two years ago for a standard visit and he was not personable at all. I paid my copay and they showed up as a covered practice through my insurance. This review doesn't reflect the abilities of Dr. Armenakas who is a wonderful physician but the horrors of his office staff. My husband has been trying to secure his medical records for over two months. Despite repeated calls to Orlando who is the office manager there was never a response. Finally upon going to the office he filled out a form indicating authorization and after a few weeks an invoice in the amount of $76.75 was sent. We STILL do not have the medical forms which are critically needed in order to secure insurance. The receptionists are rude and unhelpful. Quality medical care is important but it is also important that when you need information there is a responsive staff capable of providing assistance. I have been a patient of Dr. Armenakas for many years and continue to be impressed with his care. He has a very practical approach which I have particularly appreciated.

I can't express how deeply grateful I am to this incredible doctor. I had a stricture of the urethra that was making it nearly impossible to urinate. It was so narrow that they couldn't even get the dye test through to see how long the stricture was and the extremely painful procedure my previous doctor was using to stretch out the stricture every two months has stopped working and had in fact created scarring that made the condition worse. I was looking at the prospect of having to catheterize myself every time I had to urinate. My previous doctor told me there was no better treatment. But Dr. Armenakas suggested a (at that time) relatively new surgery, to replace the scarred area of my urethra with skin from my cheek. My father, who is dean of a medical school, helped me research the procedure-- and even tracked down the person who invented it-- who told him that if he had to have the procedure himself, the person he would want to perform it would be Doctor Armenakas. And in my experience, Dr. Armenakas even exceeded that glowing recommendation. To say that Dr. Armenakas is a great surgeon doesn't even cover the confidence, compassion, clarity and precision with which he handled every aspect of that 6 hour surgery and the post surgery checkups. He changed my life forever-- and nearly 12 years later, everything is still working perfectly. I am so grateful for this doctor.

I have recurring UTI's and my gynecologist prescribed the wrong meds. After 2 unsuccessful UTI treatments. I addressed the situation with my primary care doctor and referred me to Dr. Armenakas - what a great referral. He is extremely thorough in his analysis, answers questions well and so far his treatments are working. Very happy to have found him.

Saw Dr. Armenakas in November of 2016. Had a complicated urinary tract problem and he approached it with the careful detail. Had an MRI, a sonogram and cystoscopy ... all were normal. He. gave good explanations as why I needed each of these. Prescribed the correct antibiotic and the UTI cleared very soon. I am an M.D. myself and he has all the qualities to be on my short list of the best physicians that I have encountered in my 50+ years in medicine. I give him a strong recommendation. Doctor Armenakas has been my urologist for four years and I just have good thinks to say about him. Very experienced and human. Did not have the need see him after hours, but every time I called I got a call back.

Excellent care giver with a somber/professional demeanor that lets patients know he is thinking about long term issues, not just the immediate need. I would recommend this doctor if you like serious care, not pill-mill type physicians.

Dr. Armenakas performed a life saving surgery on my husband several years ago. He was never too busy to sit down and patiently talk to us. He was in my husband's hospital room every morning post op and kept us informed about what to expect throughout his recovery. My husband is alive and well thanks to Dr. Armenakas. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who wants a talented, caring surgeon.

I had 4 appointments with Dr. Armenakas last month when I had a uro problem and was visiting in NYC. I am a physician myself and I could not possibly recommend this physician more highly . He listens, he explains details well and he is quite personable. I had a cystoscopy and he was excellent in this procedure. I live in Mexico but if further uro problems I will always return to NYC to see Dr. Armenakas. Joe Stevens, M.D.

Do not use this doctor. I'm not talking about medical abilities. Calls to his office or "emergency: service" go unreturned. Following a visit to ER there was no ability for this doctor to see the patient for a week. There is total lack of concern for patient care or any kind of follow-up.

Dr. Armenakas is a very dedicated and fine doctor. He was thorough as well as thoughtful in addressing all my questions about my operation. And, most of all I felt very confident in his ability to perform this procedure. I would highly recommend him to anyone of my friends who may need a seasoned urologist. i received excellent care from him and his associates.
