Hammer is an appropriate name. The anesthesia was very painful, and I should have taken the warning sign and left. He told me then it was a good sign because he'd hit his bullseye and less of the stuff was needed. Following the procedure the pain kept getting worse, and he just kept telling me to increase my ibuprofen. Finally, I demanded he take another look, which is when he discovered he hadn't bothered to check my bite afterwards. I wish I had never met him.

What I like about him is that he is very conservative in his procedures, and thoughtful about what REALLY needs to be done. What has been disappointing is that he is not patient or thoughtful when actually performing his procedures. He left me in pain for one week before admitting that his work had been incomplete. He certainly is quite the hammer.

Been trying for over 2 years with this office to get my children's dentures secondary to genetic condition. The lack of communication on the office part between us ,insurance, and office communication. After final approval the dentures made 2 years prior didn't fit properly, no surprise. Adjustments made appointment given over a month away. They Called to confirm appointment 3 days before. Was referred to Dr. Hammer over 10 years ago by the president of the Mass. Dental Association- He takes the time to work with you, is very conservative in that he doesn't do unnecessary work, and is an artist when it comes to crowns. My entire family now goes to him - I consider myself lucky to have found him.

Poor communication between office, been getting run around for 2 years attempting to get dentures for 3 kids with a genetic condition. One approval in june. All three kids have same insurance. After straighten up issue by calling insurance company ourselves, for a simple fix .In Aug told we are approved for the 2 others, teeth no longer right fit. They were going to correct the issue. Appointment scheduled for November . Recieved the call to confirm the appointment . Day before the appointment I recieved a call canceling the appointment because of denial of claim for the insurance We were told we were approved in Aug for. Thought it was strange the appointment was so delayed. Now I have to disappoint 2 teenagers over again. Oldest with tmj pain.

Unfortuantely, I never had the opportunity to meet Dr. Hammer. His receptionist, Zoey, was rude, rigid and not willing to work with me over a simple request. I simply needed my mom, a current client, to call and make an appt for me. She needed to be present and due to availability reasons, it was best she make the appt. I told Zoey I could give her all needed information now so she had it on file. Then, my mom can take over. She insisted this was a strict policy and a simple request of having my mom make an appt for me could not be met. Keep in mind, my mom is a current client. So, Zoey is not only turning away a new client, but potentially losing the business of a current one. I can not say I am surprised as today's customer service standards are not what they use to be. However, Zoey does not even try to be customer friendly or work with the customer at all even at the expense of the practice.

I have a lot of issues. Dr. Hammer took the time to go over everything in detail with me, and we made a plan together. He is very meticulous and I totally trust him. He's been great. I still have a lot of work to finish, and I can't wait. Also, staff is excellent!
