Always a pleasure to see the staff at Dr Waldrops office. They show their perfection of their job. Thank you for taking such great care of me.

Dr Waldrop and his staff are very professional and courteous. He performed the same surgery on my right foot five years ago and was my first choice when I experienced problems with my left foot.

All staff at Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center were extremely professional and efficient. Dr Waldrop and his team evaluated me and appropriate treatment plan was promptly created and executed in a timely manner. I felt at ease with proposed surgical plan and felt confident in Dr. Waldrop and his team's ability to treat my right foot fracture (proximal 5th metatarsal avulsion fracture). Postop protocol/plan was explained clearly.I would have no issue using Dr. Waldrop in the future if needed. I would happily and confidently refer family, friends, or other formal patients if needed or desired. For me, I made a personal decision to seek consultation with Dr. Waldrop outside of my local hometown area as I live about 3 hours away; however, I feel at peace and was well worth the drive and would do it all over again without hesitation.

In 2019 I developed a very painful foot problem that completely stopped my active lifestyle. I wasted at least 7 months with a podiatrist who basically had me do things that made my painful foot/ankle increasingly worse and offered no good options or hope. My primary doctor noticed me limping and asked why, and I told him about what the podiatrist was having me do. He sent me for an MRI, which showed possible torn Achilles and other problems that were not being addressed. He referred me to Andrews Sports Medicine. I didn't want surgery, so I worked with Dr Carter, who told me I should consider surgery, but patiently allowed me to try every non surgical option first and spent about another 7 months. When I was finally ready to consider surgery, Dr. Carter referred me to Dr Waldrop as he'd offered to do for months. I figured Dr. Waldrop could just zap it with a laser or something and I'd be fine. He laughed and informed me it was a complicated process that would involve being completely non weightbearing for weeks, with a year-long recovery period. But by then I was so desperate I was willing to try. Everything Dr Waldrop and his great team told me about the recovery was true-not always fun to hear- and helped me know better what to expect. Thank goodness this surgery on my Achilles and foot was successful. Probably by 10 months my ankle was back to normal and I was able to visit and enjoy 3 incredible National Parks. About 14 months later, my other ankle started the same problems. This time I didn't bother with doing the things that didn't help. I scheduled my surgery but this time better understanding what I was facing. Although the same things were wrong, my recovery was faster and a little easier than the first. After 6 months I'm back to 100% and feel like I have my life back. Dr. Waldrop does move fast, but he always thoroughly explained and answered every question I had on my list(s)! He didn't sugar coat any of it. I'm so glad we have him here in Birmingham, and that he's willing to work his magic/miracles on borderline senior citizen non-athletic people like me even though I'm not a famous athlete!

Dr Waldrop has a great manner, spends the time to explain and has excellent recall — he was very insightful and very practical, he is the best

My podiatrist referred me to Dr. Waldrop a few months ago due to severe pain, torn tendons, and a steadily increasing limp. I called to make an appointment but before I could be scheduled, it was requested that I send in my medical records pertaining to my visit. I did so, only to be contacted days later, not by Dr. Waldrop, but one of his staff members, informing me that Dr. Waldrop would not take me on as a patient because of my BMI. I was floored. The staff member offered me no further information initially. I had to ask her what my BMI was and what it needed to be for me to be deemed worthy of care. I can not believe that a physician would not grant a potential patient the courtesy of a face to face visit. Had he bothered to speak with me personally, he would have learned that I have lost 94 pounds, that I am working to lose more but because of my injured foot, working out (I was up to running at one point) is no longer possible. I feel so defeated, and every day my pain and mobility gets worse and worse. It is so demoralizing to be written off by a healthcare professional due to numbers on a piece of paper. While I know that Dr. Waldrop is a highly skilled surgeon, I am so disappointed in his lack of care for certain populations. Outstanding results and great “bedside manner”!

Rescheduled my appointment for a check up to a sooner date because I’ve been in a lot of pain. Dr. Waldrop addresses the pain and explained what I need to do to help it.

I had surgery for a trimalleolar fracture July 2, 2021. 6 months later I am running over 3 miles every other day and going about my life as I did prior to my fracture. Dr. Waldrop’s skill as a surgeon repaired my ankle and restored my life. He prepared me for the difficult days and prepared me mentally for the Physical Therapy to follow. I am forever grateful to Dr. Waldrop for his surgical skill and his concern for me as a patient. My family and friends are amazed at my progress. Thank you Dr. Waldrop for all you do for your patients!

Phenomenal Surgeon!!! I had a prior surgery that resulted in my Achilles losing blood supply and becoming detached. Doc totally reconstructed and I now am walking without a limp for the first time in over 3 years! He's simply the most skilled Surgeon in a practice of highly skilled professionals. Being a second surgery on the same Achilles, he explained the risks and owned making sure I had the right plastic surgeon and stayed engaged with that as well. He's a great guy, and if you're fortunate enough to get him for surgery, consider yourself truly blessed.

If I could give a zero, I would. Moved here a few months ago. Back home I had 3 foot surgeries. My Dr back home told me that if it was not healed and I walked on it, I could hurt it badly.Then we moved here . After waiting weeks,Dr. Waldrop said he couldn't help me. I need someone to tell me if my foot is ok to walk on.Then send me to physical therapy. I just waisted all of this time for nothing. And don't even know why. If I could give a zero, I would. Old washed up athlete here had some heel pain that went from uncomfortable to excruciating in pretty short order. Got referred from Dr. Cain to Dr. Waldrop (it did take quite a while to get an appointment with him) Once I saw Dr. Waldrop he immediately diagnosed my issue and laid out treatment options. Less than 1 week later I was in surgery and although the healing time with such an injury is very long (Achilles) I could not be happier! I am 100% pain free and almost back to full speed. I have a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in my foot and Dr. Waldrop explained very clearly to me what is causing it to reinjure. He also explained the procedure he would perform to get my foot back to normal.

I have been a patient for over 20 years and have seen several different doctors in the practice. Today's visit was extremely beneficial and helped explain my options going forward.

In 2015 Dr.Jeffrey Davis did a total knee and total hip replacement on me. He was a very kind and gentle Surgeon, with a great bedside manner. The staff was also very kind and passionate.

I was very please to be able to see the doctor of choice!! Friends highly recommended him, and so thankful that he is taking care if me!! Everyone one was very kind, gentle and jubilant with my husband and I!! I highly recommend Dr. Waldrop!!

I had a pretty severe break of three bones in my foot following a motorcycle accident, and Dr. Waldrop and the whole staff at Andrews were amazing! Quick appointment, quick surgery date, lots of follow-ups to make sure my recover/healing was going well, and excellent 'bedside manner'/customer service throughout the entire process. This group is world class, and I feel blessed to have been able to have them help me get healthy again. Good location and great people. If you're a sports fan or military the visit is even more interesting. I had an ankle injury that required surgery and 3 months of recovery. Dr. Waldrop and staff are fantastic. The wait times for an appointment are minimal and safe during this pandemic. The office is right at the patient drop off point and the parking deck around back has plenty of spaces, though that is a longer walk. There is also valet parking at the patient drop off. Very nice and clean

Dr. Waldrop was able to see me for my broken ankle the morning after the accident. He explained the injury to me in a way I could understand it, and I left our first meeting confident that he would be able to get me back to my active lifestyle.

Dr. Waldrop is a miracle worker! After spending most of my life in extreme pain, literally with every step I took, and visiting most all doctors in South Alabama, Dr. Waldrop changed my life! He performed surgeries on both of my feet and I have been able to walk barefooted in the grass for the very first time in my 44 years of life, pain free. Thank you to Dr. Waldrop and all of his extraordinary staff for giving me this gift. I will never be able to repay you for what you given me!

Dr Waldrop is the best! He took a lot of time explaining everything to me and my son in a way that my 12 year old could understand and eliminated his FEAR OF having surgery. He is very thorough and truly wants the best for his patients. My son's GOAL was to get back to sports AS quickly as possible and DR. Waldrop is making that happen in a safe manner! We highly recommend TO anyone HAVING FOOT/ANKLE issues TO see DR. Waldrop!

Great visit. Took time & explained everything.

My visit was fast and to the point. No lengthy wait time and covid precautions were followed. This was my last follow up visit after my posterior tibial tendon and bunion repair surgery a year ago. No more pain from tendon repair, but still have issues with bunion repair. Yes I would recommend Dr Waldrop and Andrews clinic.

Dr. Waldrop was originally going to be my 2nd opinion, but his explanation of how he could repair as well as confirmation of all previous treatment attempted, confirmed that I needed to let him be the surgeon to repair my foot.

Dr Waldrop has treated several members of my family as well as myself and he has always provided exceptional care. He is the best!

Follow up from ankle fusion.

Dr. Waldrop is an EXCELLENT Surgeon!!! He is very friendly, always meets you with a smile, takes time explaining, extremely knowledgeable, and fixed both of my ankles so I could walk without any pain. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs to be fixed with his expertise!!

Unlike other physicians that I have seen, Dr. Waldrop was unhurried during my visit. He took the time to talk with me about how I was doing personally before addressing my orthopedic issues. He was both personal and professional in his diagnosis and recommendations for treatment.
