My name is Carlos Acosta I had a horrible experience with them over a year ago, but I figured i'd give them one more chance. So Thursday I called the office around noon, they were on lunch so I left a message told them I'd call back after 230. They were very professional and called me after 230 to set an appointment. I got an appointment set for 1:20 on Friday then while i'm on the phone finishing up the appointment I keep getting another call so i answer it and its Dr Partell the head Dr there he stated he could get me in at 8am, which was better since I had a concerning issue. I told Dr. Patel that I just got off the phone with his office I have an appointment at 120 but 8 works better because my hand has been numb. So he changed it to 8am I get there 7:50 no one is there which is understandable. The front office ladies didn't arrive until 8 and unlocked the door until 805. I did all the paperwork they call me up saying there isn't a Dr there until 9am and I would need to set an appointment for another day or do a virtual appointment. Very poor experience. We made an appointment for a post covid check up after being hospitalized. They cancelled the day of the appointment. Told us to wait 2 more weeks. We couldn't wait because meds were running out.

Val the nurse there is awesome and has helped me many times with getting meds prescribed by other facilities.

Disappointing experience. I was evaluated by a pleasant young woman who said she was a PA trainee. After she finished the doctor came in and spoke with me for no more than 2 minutes. I am a senior with severe balance issues and difficulty walking but he never observed these problems because he didn't have me get out of the chair. I was surprised that on my first visit to a gerontologist I would be evaluated by an unsupervised trainee. I did get a referral to a neurologist but cannot get an appointment for 2 months. I booked an appointment as a first time patient. I asked what the visit would cost. The receptionist told me she did not know (???) and she would ask the biller and call me back. She did not call back. I called again 2 days later. She said she could not tell me what the visit would cost.

Worse experience ever I was use to be practiced on my body while I had my annual checkup, for his medical students. Every time I need to talk to the doctor never had an answer or had to wait for hours on the phone and now I am discharged as his patients because I called asking to talk to him and of course he wants money why I should pay copays to get an answer ? Horrible staff and bad Dr. Was referred by my a friend. The first appointment was for back/knee pains, I was told to go to Physical therapy the one he refereed wasn't taking appointment for a month out, and i was suppose to have a follow up within a month. so after i attempted to set up the physical therapy they referred me to Benson office which is 45 mins away. My follow up visit I waited in the patent room for over an hour and twenty mins and no signs on the Dr, no word from the staff how much longer it would be. I could hear the staff joking outside the door and having casual conversations but none of the staff or Dr ever came in to tell me what the long wait was for. Were very busy, but got in and out quickly. Still not sure how we'll feel from the vaccine, but the entire staff at the office was great!

Dr. Patel is very kind and considerate. He does involve his students because that's how they are trained. My experiences have always been positive and he has called himself to answer questions. I appreciate him and his staff. Thanks

I started going to Dr. Patel because I needed a new doctor, and I had had such a good experience with him while my grandmother was under his care in hospice. From my first visit, I really felt like I could trust him and his staff. I love that New Era is a teaching practice, so there are always residents that work with the NPs and Dr. I love that I am never kept waiting - if the doctor is with a patient, I am seen by an NP or Resident, and then finish up my visit with a consult with the doctor. It is a great feeling that I am getting such good care. Because of the knowledge, time and attention of each member of his staff, Dr. Patel was able to identify a cause for a problem I've had for nearly a decade. I'm now in my 40s, and feel better and have more energy than I did in my 20s. I'm thankful to have such a good doctor and staff in our small town. I highly recommend Dr. Patel and New Era Family Pracfice. After 3 visits between the wife and I, we are very pleased with the office procedures, and treatment provided by all medical staff we have seen. Caring, concerned and thorough. Glad we found them!!

I called Dr. Patel's office when I was first confirmed to have COVID. They would not see me in person but told me it was a virus and to just wait it out, let it run its course. By the 8th day of dealing with COVID my husband had to take me to the ER. I couldn't breath and would cough until I thought I'd pass out. I ended up being admitted for 4 days. The hospital informed Dr. Patel's office I was admitted. They sent tests results. Did Dr. Patel call me? NO! Did he want to see me after the hospital, NO! He told me over the phone when I finally got a phone call appointment "what if I caught COVID?". So he's more important than me. His life is more important that mine? Nice! Aren't doctors supposed to be the ones who put their lives out there for their patients? I'm SO thankful the doctors and nurses at Canyon Vista Hospital did not have the thinking that Dr. Patel has. Thankfully they took care of me when he did not!

A nice guy but staff seems confused, I’ve waited on hold on the phone for 10 minutes or more multiple times, and almost every time I go in I’m seen by a different med student. Not the doctor-patient relationship I would hope for... nor by a long shot.

Dr. Patel is a very intelligent and caring doctor. He never rushes you and answers all your questions. I'm so fortunate to have him as my family doctor!

Dr. Patel is very caring, experienced and knowledgeable. He has been my primary care doctor for four years. He takes the times to listen to you, he gives advice, recommendations and respects you and your decisions.

I booked an appointment as a first time patient. They would (could) not tell me what my initial visit would cost which I found very strange. I called back 2 days later to ask again and again they would(could?) not tell me. I cancelled my appointment and will look elsewhere.

Dr Patel is the kindest most caring doctors I have ever met. When my father got out of hospital a few years back, he personally called him to check on him. (This was a first in my life and my fathers.) If I need to talk to him, he calls me back personally. He has always there for my father and to help me with my father. I truly feel blessed that he is the type of Man/Dr he is, it is very rare to find his level of care, compassion, professionalism and he is always happy and smiling, it is contagious and good for the heart and soul of patients caregivers and very tired daughters. My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Patel now for almost 2 years. We are both in our 70s and we find him very knowledgeable, very caring and eager to find solutions to our various health situations. We highly recommend Dr. Patel and his staff are extremely professional and courteous as well. Most often wait time was 10-15 and on only one occasion in many many visits did we have to wait longer than that.

I went in for VA Choice Program appointment and the very angry lady at the desk kept arguing with me about what I was there for. I will never go back.

I used him as Primary care under Choice and Tri-West because VA was short physicians and was very disappointed. He refused to refill my long time scripts because he didn't "like them". After a dizzy spell and fall I had sever pain but he offered no relief . Look elsewhere if you have a choice.

mc Patel has been the worst pcp I’ve ever encountered. As a human may need care of the most distrusting ailments! In this area not one MD so-called Patel shall take the time to listen 2 your needs, therefore I cannot ignore the obvious fact that I would rather fly to another foreign country than see a so called MD as such!!!! I have been going to Dr. Patel for years. He has a great bedside manner. I couldn’t ask for a better physician. He listens and is very caring. The office staff are nice and caring as well.

He takes an interest in his patient and takes the time to listen to the problems and takes the initiative to work with other doctors to rectify what ever may be the problem.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Parag Patel for almost ten years now. My mother who is 101 years old has been a patient of his for the same period of time. Takes the time to thoroughly understand your issue(s) and explains treatment options at a level that we can understand. Maintains an answering service and can be contacted in an emergence and will call you back if in town and not on vacation. My wife, my mother and I highly recommend him.

The receptionist seemed to be a boss to set up the priority of the patients’ appointment. She called me and then asked me to delay my appointment. Her attitude was very rude to deal with my appointment. I won’t recommend anyone who wants to see this doc because of her. She said “The doc is very busy with other patients, can you delay your appointment 2 weeks later?” And then I said “It sounds like I’m not important. The doc doesn’t wanna see me?” And then she said “I haven’t talked to him.” I just got earlier appointment for me because I had to see a doc with my symptoms, so I had to get earlier appointment. She said “I’m busy, I have to go, see you then.” And then hung up the phone. I felt so horrible with the receptionist. The other receptionist in March was very nice. However, I decided to find a new doc for me in town. Too poor service. I just visited here for registration only once. Dr. Patel has been my primary physician for years. Just excellent!

Very kind and nice staff and they get the job done. Also, on my first visit I actually got to see the doctor after the assistant took my vital stats, and at the previous place I only ever saw FNPs, never saw the doctor in 3 years.

I have always got in and out in a timely manner. The staff always seems to be happy and helpful too. Dr. Patel is knowledgeable and seems to truly care about his patients.

I love Dr. Patel he listens to what you say. He is always great to find out what is wrong, or what is going on with you. He won’t just through meds at you like some doctors do. I have been going here for years now and I will never change doctors unless I move. The staff is always great and wonderful.

I have been seeing dr Patel for my doctor for almost 8 years and he is one of the best doctor in town I have seen many other doctors and none of them are as good as him. He always has to have the answer on why something is happening he will always help you get healthy. The staff is awesome too they will help you any way they can.

Very good dr and friendly staff. Very accommodating.

I have horrible anxiety. Visiting the Dr is a trigger. This was the kindest Dr I have ever seen in 29 years of living.

Dr. Patel is a great doctor. He listens, takes his time, and looks at all options for your care. You can get an appointment easily and he "personally" returns some phone calls. We feel "very fortunate" to have Dr. Patel for our family doctor.

My husband and I have been going to see Dr. Patel about 8 years. He is TERRIFIC. He takes his time and listens, is not a pill pusher, you can always get an appointment fast, he returns phone calls, I would say he is the BEST doctor I have had in my 69 years.

Dr. Patel is low-key but very good. He was recommended by several folks when we first moved to town and were asking around. His staff always seems to know how to quickly lay their hands on any bit of information needed and they keep the process moving. I think his practice is part of a family enterprise that includes adjacent dental and stress-management services. He regularly schedules specialists from larger cities to come down and serve his local patients. Nice. Dr. Patel is low-key but very good.
