Dr. Patrick Joseph Welch

After years of experiencing/suffering with SVT and two recent trips to the emergency room, my cardiologist referred me to Dr. Patrick Welch. Dr. Welch performed an ablation on my heart, which was completely successful. It is no exaggeration to say that my experience with Dr. Welch was absolutely excellent and that I now feel better than I have in many, many years.

As a Professor of Biology in the area of anatomy and physiology at UL for over 35 years I recommend Dr. Patrick Welch and his staff with no hesitation. He has been my cardiac electrophysiologist for the past 15 years and as a result of his excellent care I’ve been able to resume a normal life. I have always been treated with utmost respect by Dr. Welch and his staff. We are fortunate to have him in Lafayette.

My visit was outstanding! Dr. Welch readily takes time with patients and fully explains any questions you may have in language that you can understand. The same goes for his staff, very friendly and knowledgeable!!

Dr. Welch treated my SVT with ablation in 2007. Not a problem since! Very knowledgeable physician

Very friendly & professional staff! I would heavily recommend Dr. Welch to anyone that is searching for someone that truly cares about your health and well-being.

Dr. Welch is always very cordial but yet in very professional manner. When he tells you about your health you have no doubts it’s an honest opinion. I would highly recommend him and his staff which unquestionably the best in Lafayette as appointments are always on time so many other medical offices could take lessons from them on preserving patients valuable time. No doubt best medical office I have ever visited.

Dr. Welch was wonderful to me he repaired my A-Fib and I just love him and his staff for it

Great doctor, cardiologist that explains to you all the important information about what your heart is doing. Really nice professional staff, really clean office, 5 stars for sure.

Being a new patient, after an EKG I waited 40 minutes in the exam room for the doctor, nobody came in. I left the exam room, ( after much patience ) told somebody out in the hall I've wasted enough time waiting on the doctor, I can't stay, they didn't even seem to care that I left. The staff was not friendly or nice. A very dry office !!

Staff was rude and Dr. Welch did not seem interested or focused on the task at hand. Immediately after entering the examination room, an EKG machine was brought in and hooked up for roughly 10 seconds, for a fee, of course. Dr. Welch did not seem to have reviewed medical records before coming in. Stress tests, blood work, and other items were available to him. Dr. Welch was even set up on referral, as another cardiologist was convinced he specialized in a potential specific condition. Dr. Welch listened to heart beat, thumbed through a manilla folder, then said the condition was a common, untreatable ailment. After pushing for another visit with Dr. Welch, his staff recommended going to another doctor, and the nurse on the line delivered the belittling line, "We do not treat ______, go see someone else." I will not ever recommend visiting Dr. Welch unless you enjoy spending money to get snarkey remarks from staff, and a doctor who will make little to no eye contact with you while in the room.
