Dr Koonings has been my OBGYN oncologist doctor for 20 years. I have the utmost trust in him and his decisions. He has an excellent bedside manner and makes a personal connection to his patients. He has always listened to my concerns and provided top notch care.

We got off to a rather stormy start, but soon put our misunderstanding behind us. That foolishness was quickly forgotten, eclipsed by some devastating & potentially-lethal health threats. But we were truly blessed to come under the stellar stewardship of Dr. Koonings. Faced with a rare & terrifying, literally life-&-death challenge, we couldn't have had a more highly competent, singularly-confidence- inspiring, compassionate or brilliant surgeon than he. He looks way too young & handsome to consider retirement. He must be headed to Hollywood.

I met with Dr. Koonings regarding surgery for what turned out to be ovarian cancer. I consider myself very lucky to have been in his care. He is a wonderful doctor, extremely knowledgeable, attentive and very kind. His staff and residents were also great but Dr. Koonings is simply the best on so many levels.

This Doctor is very good. He told me about the cancer and what had to be done to help me. I had a radical surgery and after 9 months now I really feel good inside. My family had to wait to see me after surgery but when they finally saw me I was o.k. and alive. Ya, there was pain and he authorized medicine. I like Dr. Koonings ownership of me as his patient. I always feel secure in his care. I know he would never hurt me. He is so gifted with surgical talent like a tailor and genius like.Truth.

My main complaint is post-op pain management. My husband had to wait 3 extra hours to see me in the recovery room because I was in too much pain. He was finally allowed in, if he promised not to wake me up. During my hospital stay, when I complained of pain after being taken off the pain pump on day two and given Norco (the mildest narcotic pain med), Dr. Koonings actually asked me, Did you think it wasn't going to hurt? I did finally get the pain meds upped to Percocet.
