Dr. Yau is the most professional and caring doctor with an outstanding personality. He listens to every concern with passion. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Dr.Yau was very professional and thorough in explaining my procedure and recovery.

Dr Yau’s prep, surgery, and post op teams were fantastic. Without hesitation I would highly recommend them. God blessed me to have placed me in the hands of these skilled professionals. Vivat Jesus!

At age of 70, after procrastinating for several years, I selected Dr. Yau after getting some some recommendations from some friends who work in the medical field. Dr. Yau answered all my questions, and appeared to be very confident of results that I would obtain. I researched the robotic procedure that would be used, and as a retired engineer, was impressed. The surgery and recovery greatly exceeded my expectations. In the process of replacing knee, in addition Dr. Yau was able to straighten my leg. The pain after surgery was a fraction of what I was expecting. I could walk unassisted (although I carried a cane as a precaution) in around two weeks. Dr. Yau along with PA Hannah and NP Taylor were very responsive in the days following surgery. I cannot imagine having a better orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Yau and his team of providers are the most technically skilled , knowledgeable and caring of any such group in our East Tennessee region.

Dr Yau was super attentive and engaging. He answered all my questions and offered me options along with their pros/cons.

Dr. Yau is highly recommend. and, after researching my options for complete hip replacement, I selected him as my surgeon. I’m one year out from surgery and was released yesterday to "do any activities I feel comfortable doing". I selected anterior approach. My scar, which is in front, is about 4 inches long. It has healed to slight visibility. I was asked yesterday if I forget that I've had hip replacement. The answer is a resounding YES!! Pre-surgery, I did yoga on a regular basis. As soon as I was released from post-surgery therapy, I returned to yoga which gives stretching and strength training on that hip. I recommend Dr. Yau, I recommend anterior approach, and I highly recommend continued yoga or some other form of exercise to stretch and strengthen.

Dr. Yau and his staff Hannah and Taylor are simply the best! Dr. Yau did a revision on my knee replacement when I was still in a lot of pain from my TKR surgery. My original surgeon said there was nothing wrong. Dr. Yau (and Hannah) discovered the problem immediately. The after surgery care is impeccable. If I should ever need further knee or hip work I wouldn’t go to anyone else! Thank you Dr. Yau and staff!!

Dr Yau was genuinely interested to know any concerns I had before my knee replacement surgery. He answered all of my questions transparently. He was friendly and professional the entire visit.

For 4 years after hip replacement, no one was concerned about the extreme pain I'm experiencing. My doctor at the VA out sourced me to TOC where I met Dr Yau. He focused on me not the computer, and spoke with a comforting, concerned tone of voice. And he was determined to figure out what's going on with my hip. We took a lot of X ray's and test to receive all the data first to accurately determine the cause. Still a work in progress. I left from consulting with Dr. Yau with hope and excitement that finally someone who WANTS to help me. Dr. Yau 's Passion to really help has given me hope that soon I'll be out of pain and get back to walking normal again. Dr. Yau from my experience with doctors is the best I've I've ever experienced. I am absolutely ???? pleased with my care fom this provider to date. Very friendly, knowledgeable and interested in patient care. Takes your personal circumstances into consideration when planning for surgery. He is all about your total well being and recovery. I will give a more detailed review after surgery... so far very happy with Dr Yau.... compared to previous Ortho provider.

Dr. Yau has completed 4 hip surgeries for me including bilateral hip arthroscopy and bilateral total hip replacements. I have not had any complications. Highly recommend him. Knowledgeable and has a wonderful bedside manner. I trust his judgement and my daughter will be in his capable hands soon for her hips. As a mom and someone who has been through this I feel this is the highest compliment I could give.

Dr. Yau was informative, educational and reassuring. I haven’t met a doctor with such wonderful “bedside manner” ever!

For years I was suffering from chronic pain and didn’t realize how long I had been limiting my life until Dr. Yau took my pain away. After two hip replacements I can now hike for seven miles and sleep all night! He is straightforward and I needed that or I would never have had the surgery. I am so grateful to Dr. Yau, Hannah and Taylor for the excellent care.

Dr Yau is very personable, understanding and was prepared in advance concerning my records and previous xrays.... I was taken back quickly and seen by him soon after I got into the room.

He is very nice caring doctor and he does know his stuff just listen to what he tells you to do and do it and you will come out better than ever

My experience with Dr Yau beyond wonderful. He has a great bed side manner and explains things in ways regular people like me can understand. I would like to take a moment though to express the utmost gratitude for my Physical Therapist Dr. Matt Cabbage. With his help and expertise he helped me get my hip strong and ready for surgery. This also helped me in my recovery phase. Going to such a great therapist made my recovery time so much smoother.

Dr Yau and his entire team are outstanding. Highly coordinated, totally professional, and caring. My personal experience prior to, during and after surgery could not have been better. I couldn't be happier.

I had a hip replacement in 2018 and I haven't hurt since! If my other hip goes out I'll have him to do it also! This Oct 31 he did a knee replacement, the knee is better than ever and doesn't give me any pain anymore! I would recommend Dr Yau to anyone he's my miracle doctor!

I've been under Dr yau's care for almost 3 years. He has really stayed on top of things the whole way, not once saying he gave up. I appreciate all his and his staffs work and manners. "Best in the Biz" in my eyes. I would definitely recommend him over anyone else in Knoxville.

First hip replacement in 2020, second hip was less than 8 weeks ago. Dr. Yau is excellent! Healing is different for each surgery but coming along nicely! Thank you Dr. Yau! Can’t wait to hit the trails with no pain!

Dr. Yao and Hannah are an excellent team. They call you personally to check and see how you are. Dr. Yao is patient, listens to you, does not rush you and has a gift when dealing with patients like me. Dr. Yau was very nice, I felt an instant connect with him. Dr. Yau is very empathetic and communicates very well with patients. So glad that I was referred to him.

Dr. Yau, is very good with patients and take his time explaining what is going on with every aspect of care.

Dr Yau is simply the best. He is thorough and listens and fixes the problem. Very skilled surgeon who restored me to full ambulatory function after both knees were replaced.

Office runs efficiently out front. Staff are very friendly. Dr. Yau excellent in making sure you understand everything so you can make a choice that you feel meets your needs. Dr. Yau and his staff are very through.

I have had 3 surgeries with Dr. Yau. His is simply the best in his area of expertise. I would not go to anyone else. Dr. Yau has always been very professional and upfront on my hip replacement preparation, procedure, and followup. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a hip replacement.

Dr Paul Yau has been the surgeon who has done both of my hip replacements, as well as the right hip replacement for my wife. In my opinion, he and the staff has been excellent in terms of their care and attire of service. Additionally, Ft Sanders Hospital has been a excellent facility where these surgeries were done about one to three years ago. All of our surgeries were without any problems whatsoever, and we have recovered 100 %. We still use the TOC doctors there for other special needs. I highly recommend Dr Yau and his staff. Dr Yau has replaced my right knee (revision from another surgeon-it came loose) and most recently, my right hip. He is always thorough with the labs and making sure that you’re in the best shape to have surgery. He also cares about his patients and has a great personality. He is thorough in explaining why the surgery is necessary, too. I’m glad that he has been taking care of my orthopedic needs since 2017. I have had some bad experiences at other orthopedic clinics in Knoxville, so I’m glad that I found Dr Yau. I did wind up with a staph infection after my hip replacement, but he was quick to get me back in for surgery and has been seeing me regularly to help it heal properly. Dr. Yau has performed 2 hip replacements on me and literally has given me my life back. I am so thankful. He is an excellent Dr and has a wonderful staff. He is the best!

Dr. Yau in an amazing doctor. I had a hip replacement and it turned out great. So not only is he an excellent doctor, but he is compassionate and caring. I truly believe your experience with Dr. Yau will be one you will be very pleased with.

Dr. Yau and the employees at Fort Sanders Surgery are top notch! After hip surgery in December 2021, nurses (Donna & Ashley) followed up with me weekly and they truly cared about my progress. I'm walking much better and looking forward to summer being just around the corner. You won't find a better doctor or surgical center anywhere!

Yes, I absolutely recommend Dr. Paul Yau who changed the quality of my life with a hip replacement. I’m 4 months out from surgery and delighted with results. At 2 weeks out, I was driving and using a cane to walk and climb stairs in my house. For the first time in years, I was taking walks, and crawling on the floor with my grandbaby, logging 5 miles on the gym bicycle and looking forward to adding aerobics and weight training. I hadn't been in a hospital for decades and saw a surgical procedure as a last resort. But Dr. Yau’s expertise, his engaging confidence about a great outcome, and his compassion alleviated my fears. The same was true of Hannah Mabry PA-C, whose manner and professionalism totally reassured me at my first appointment. I did as they advised pre- and post op; was up on a walker after a noon surgery, ready to go home the same day, and started with a great PT group two days after surgery. Walking pain-and limp-free is a joy! God bless Dr. Yau Hannah and their team.

After almost three years of dealing with hip pain, going to PT, shots, I finally went to Dr. Yau to discuss surgery. He expained it in detail, assigned me one person to make my appointments and the process was smooth and non stressful. Most important the day of surgery his surgical team was like a well oiled machine. They were kind compassionate and explained each step, answered all my questions. Dr. Yau started me on PT the day of surgery and my PT praised him to the hilt for doing that and now I do to. I knew immediately the pain was gone. Don't think it is a pain free recovery but after three years of excruciating pain in no time I was out gardening several hours a day and walking without a hint of pain. Please don't hesitate having the surgery you will get your life back.

Yes I am recommending Dr Yau. I did a lot of research and saw many Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Yau had the most positive reviews and when I visited his office he was easy to talk to and made me feel very confident that I was in good hands! His entire team including his PA, Hanna , we’re very professional and made me feel at ease. I am 7 weeks post-Op from total hip replacement and feeling great. I highly recommend Dr Yau and his team!

Dr. Yau and Hannah Mabry go above and beyond when providing care. I feel I am in kind and competent hands, they answer all questions and include me in all aspects of my care.

His bedside manner is amazing and he is so knowledgeable. My 15 year old daughter has had issues with her hip for about 2 years. He took the time to really see what was causing the issue.

The staff are friendly and professional. Dr Yau took time with me to explain what I needed to understand in a clear and concise way. I have recommended Dr Yau in the past and will continue to do so.

Dr yau is very informative and pleasant. Great experience. Office ans staff are also great.

Dr. Yau is extremely polite and knowledgeable in dealing with my knees! I feel very safe in his hands.

Dr. Yay was very professional and friendly. He took time to answer all of my questions. Regarding post-surgery limitations (which were few), he was very clear and to the point. However Dr. Yau was very positive about post-operative activities I could remain doing and actually enjoy even more since my pain would be relieved. I am 44 years old and needed a total knee replacement due to an injury in my early 20’s. I have always been very active and Dr. Yau confidently assured me of being able to return to most if not all of those activities. I very much appreciate the professional demeanor and positive attitude. I am writing this review 24 hours post-operation and my comfort level is very manageable, my mobility is good, and I feel very confident of making a full recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Yau.
