Dr. Peter C Jacobson

I have been going to Dr. Jacobson off and on for years, he is a wonderful Orthopedic, listens, and gives the least painful cortisone shot ever. He cares I have always heard great things about his surgery. He would be the first I would consult when the time comes.

I was having very achy knee pain. Dr. Jacobson was very thorough and attentive. He just reminded me that past injuries from running track and the arthritis is just reminding me I’m getting old lol no surgery yet. Just take pain meds as needed.Great guy!

I usually see another physician, but I saw another gentleman yesterday. He didn’t seem to have the time of day for anything that I had to ask. He did not go over my x-rays with me as my other doctor did. He just seem like he was in a hurry and didn’t have enough time for me. Very impressed with the friendly and professional staff. Dr. Jacobson is so nice and explained my knee issue so that I could understand what's causing the pain. He has a great personality and is very pleasant! Happy that my primary physician referred me to OrthoVA.

I enjoyed the visit. After Dr. Jacobson manipulated my arm in numerous positions it felt somewhat better. I was able to bend and lift in areas I couldn't before. Waiting to get my MRI and make another appt with him.

Quick, knowledgeable and effective!

Dr Jacobsen was my provider. Very nice, was happy with his approach to my shoulder. He has a since of humor which is always a plus. Professional and would highly recommend. His staff was awesome. Very polite and professional. From check in, X-ray and medical records review was fast and efficient. Building was clean and parking area is huge.

Dr. Jacobs filled in for my regular physician, Dr. O'Connell. Dr. Jacobs is friendly and gentle. We discussed the last appointment I had with Dr. O'Connell and course of care. He also informed me of other options and suggested physical therapy.

First, you can call Ortho, and you can actually speak to someone, which is rare. Front staff is excellent, as is all staff. My doctor was terrific and I never felt rushed. He graciously answered all my questions. Five stars isn’t enough!

Dr Jacobson is a very knowledgeable in his field and has a great personality. I do recommend him.

Dr. Jacobson it's a wonderful Doctor Who really knows his field of Medicine. He has a fantastic bedside manner and he is never in a rush to get you out of his office on my way. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a orthopedic surgeon. I am quite happy and pleased with the hip replacement he did on me 7 years ago.

Needs to spend more time with patients, try to act like he cares at least! Improve on bed side manners

Very professional and caring doctor.

My mother had a knee replacement done and immediately afterwards was informed that she was allergic to a chemical used during surgery and was going to be in pain. She was in pain for a month with a fever while Dr. Jacobson continued to tell her that she is a "whiner, and a complainer". Today she saw a new doctor who recognized her fever and is now admitting her to the hospital to care for her raging infection. Dr. Jacobson actually made my rather outspoken mother speechless with his dismissal of her and her symptoms. Do not give Dr. Jacobson your business. *Update* My mother has since seen another physician, and been cured of her infection and is doing just fine now that she is receiving proper care. Left knee pain

This was my final appointment. Up to this appointment everything was great. My appointment card said 10:50. I checked in at 10:48. I waited 30 minutes, then went back to the same receptionist. She said I was next. I waited 15 more minutes. Then I went to another receptionist she said I should be called back any minute. Then 10 minutes later the nurse called me. Dr. Jacobson came in a few minutes later and spoke with me. I was walking out at 11:55. I waited 1 hour. It would have been nice if at least one person had said”We are running behind or would you like to reschedule.” , but not the 2 receptionist, the nurse, or Dr. Jacobson said anything. Very friendly and helpful staff. Dr. Jacobson has provided me with outstanding professional care for many years.

Dr Jacobson is a very kind and caring physician. He explains everything so you can understand it. He makes you have no questions when you leave or when he sees you after a surgery. He is very compassionate. I highly recommend him for all Ortho needs.

I left feeling totally frustrated and brushed off. My left hip replacement March 31, 2020 was still painful even with a lot of P.T. Shown in x-rays Dr. Jacobson had taken while I was there showed something he hadn’t done in my procedure and my pain could be because of that. He asks “if I would consider another surgery removing replacement and putting in another”! I told him I did not want surgery and he said “walk with a cane”, then added “get a walking stick....fancy one” etc. We discussed an injection and he said “yeah mumble mumble”. Come back in 6 months. As he left he said “I’ll be back.” Of course that never happened!!!!! He ordered ultrasound....had appointment which was canceled (no explanation). If you want to go to one of the best Ortho groups go to Ortho of Virginia the staff is great and let you know what's going on at all times gives you different options, and most of all they treat you like a real person instead of a number like some other or the doctors do in the city.

I had my knee replaced on November 2018 at the age of 49. I very happy with everything Dr. Jacobson did. I never had any pain or discomfort. Dr. Jacobson was very professional and let me know what to expect. I would definately recomend him to anyone that is having alot of knee pain. His entire office is very friendly and helpful. I saw Dr. Jacobson about my right knee. We discussed some options for increasing mobility. I was very happy that he set-up physical therapy. Our appointment was productive and positive. I would recommend Dr. J. without hesitation. I recommend OrthoVirginia without hesitation...awesome facility!

I have had a very pleasant outcome with my whole experience starting with having to postpone surgery to the post OP follow up and rehabilitation after the surgery finally was completed. Dr Jacobson did a great job and my shoulder has been recovering faster than I expected. The PA' s I worked with were great and very informative.

Very good surgeon who replaced my left knee years ago. Now it's time for the right knee to be replaced. Dr. showed me the x-rays on computer and discussed how the procedure has changed from the first time.

Doctor Jacobson is a very thorough, knowledgeable doctor who communicates well and truly listens. After going to another orthopedic surgeon who told me I had severe arthritis and needed a hip replacement I went to Dr. Jacobson for a second opinion. The first doctor did not show me my x-rays and did not ask me or answer my questions. Dr. Jacobson did all of that plus he read the x-ray in front of me while explaining to me his diagnosis which was “moderate” hip arthritis! He explained my options with the benefits and risks of each and recommended I try a conservative treatment with anti inflammatory medicine and physical therapy to strengthen the surrounding muscles that support my hip. For the first time in several months I can walk WITHOUT PAIN or the fear of my legs buckling when I walk! Also Dr. Jacobson wrote a very thorough and accurate report of our doctor visit which was promptly posted to MyChart. In my experience not many doctors write thorough reports!

Answered all of my questions and was very comforting to my pain.

Very encouraging and helpful. Kept me aware of my options to get treatment and finally, surgery.

I had a partial tear in my shoulder. He did a great job. He is articulate and a perfectionist and I have complete confidence in his work. He down to earth and friendly.

Dr. Jacobson is a man of great knowledge and good humor. He always takes the time to explain your condition clearly. He goes about treatment in a cautious, methodical manner, not jumping to aggressive remedies.

Dr Jacobson is amazing . Repaired the labral tear in my hip and I have done so amazing. As a physical therapist it is critical for me to be able to move around freely and not in constant pain .
