I had a total hip replacement performed by Dr Sculco on Jan 19. I was able to walk with a walker the very next day and did not feel the discomfort in my hip that had been plaguing me for the last 2 years. I used the walker for the first 2 weeks and then graduated to the cane. I had virtual physical therapy twice a week. The therapists were a pleasure to work with. Dr Sculco and his staff addressed my questions. After staying upstairs in my house for 2 weeks I felt confident enough to walk up and down the 15 steps. Within another 2-3 weeks I was walking without the cane. I can finally tie my shoelaces. I am currently able to walk 1.5 miles without having to either sit down or walk with a limp. Not only is Dr .Sculco a gifted surgeon he also gives his patients all the time to review their questions and concerns. If I could give him more that 5 stars I would do so in a heartbeat

Dr. Sculco worked his magic. I had my right hip replacement, The pain was unbearable and I couldn't stand up. Five years.???? I ask God to Protect him and his family and to Bless his hands. He is kind and understanding and truly thinks of his patient. I healed really fast, I pushed myself and did what he said so I didn't mess with his work. It paid off. Thank you to all that assisted him and took care of me from the beginning and up until my discharge. My next journey with HSS is my back. Dr. Peter Sculco is the reason I, at 75, am back to hiking, kayaking and doing everything I was able to do before three hip surgeries, an infection and a broken femur. He is highly skilled but also consults with other specialists at HSS when the need arises. His bedside manner is the best of any doctor I've ever had and the care at HSS also ranks at the top. My mother just had surgery with Dr. Sculco for her knee replacement. She is in her late 80s. He did a superior job. When she came out of surgery she was walking with a perfect gait. Although the surgery is a difficult one and she experienced pain, his staff was always there to assist. THey are ever patient and called back promptly. After about 6 weeks, the pain subsided and she is walking with a cain perfectly. Her leg is even, her gait and heel toe is perfect and we are going to HSS for physical therapy. He checked on my mother the next day, then sent members of his staff to check on her, and the whole team did a great job. Knee replacement is a difficult surgery but his team did everything possible to help. And I am so happy to see my mother walking straight with a perfect gait in just 6 weeks. Suffice it for me to declare that Dr. Sculco and his team triumphed in their endeavor to supersede my more than troublesome knees with state-of-the-art knees equal to those I used to bend an oar. I am back to sculling four days a week.

Being told you need a hip replacement @ age 45 is a bit overwhelming . That all changed once I met Dr. Sculco. I knew I was in the right place and felt totally relieved after my visit . Dr. Peter Sculco did my aunts knee replacement surgery. He is possibly the best surgeon we could have come across to perform my aunts surgery. It was a real blessing to obtain the opportunity of having him as her doctor. He is absolutely incredible. May Allah bless him.

From start to finish amazing. I had total knee replacement and I was riding my stationary bike by day 14. Walking with no cane or assistance. The scar is healing to a very thin line. Dr. Sculco gave me my life back. The surgery and recovery was less painful than what I had been living with. Doing the left knee next year!

Dr Sculco is the most amazing doctor I have had the pleasure of meeting. We hit it off as best a doctor and patient could. Dr Sculco was a life saver for me. When he said, “"I can fix you” I cried. Others had turned me down because of the complicated nature of my knee. I will be forever in his debt. I am in therapy now and I can walk. I will be able to walk without an aide ie walker or cane soon. His care was suburb! I could not have asked for a better hospital. HSS was great as well. I live in Rockford Illinois and I traveled to New York and stayed at The Osborn in Rye, NY for two months following my surgery. I received excellent care there as well. Dr. Peter Sculco is very in demand and he will give you an honest assessment. After waiting one year I had the much needed knee replacement and knew I was in good hands as I went into the surgery. Dr. Sculco reassures his patients and has a personal interest in making sure the outcome will be the best. My case was a valgus knee and as soon as I woke up from recovery I walked around and could feel the excellent re construction. His staff answers promptly any calls or concerns. He is constantly learning new methods and travels internationally to share his knowledge as well as exchange with others. The recovery takes time but as each month passes the excellent craftsmanship really shows up when you have patience, I highly recommend this surgeon to anyone who has issues and doubts. You will be very honored if you have Dr. Peter Sculco! I certainly am and praise him daily .

I cannot thank Dr. Peter Sculco enough for giving me my life back. I was stubborn enough to wait 14 years to have both knees replaced. Since he replaced my knees, I have been able walk as far as I need to, and want to. Before surgery, I was not able to walk 1/2 block without extreme pain in both knees. Every day I marvel at how great I feel, how well I move and how lucky I am to be a patient of Dr. Peter Sculco. I am less than 4 months out from complicated emergency surgery due to a fall to repair a fractured femur and revision of previous hip replacement surgery. I am now 98% back to my normal routine (100% once I get the ok to resume playing tennis) and I am grateful for the care and compassion shown by Dr. Sculco and his equally amazing staff. Dr. Peter Sculco is that rare combination of an outstanding skilled surgeon who is also genuinely caring and compassionate. In less than 4 months following complicated emergency surgery to repair a fractured femur along with a revision of prior hip replacement surgery, I am back to doing everything I did before. I am so grateful to be his patient and can't rave about him enough!

I could not walk a 1/2 block without excruciating pain in my right knee. I had cortisone shots and the injections which did not help. Dr. Sculco explained to me that I had bone on bone and arthritis and that a knee replacement would be beneficial. I agreed, had surgery in January, and am back riding my horses and walking again, pain free!!!! Dr. Sculco is The Best!!!!!

After limping along for longer than ideal, I was referred to Dr. Sculco for a revision of a 7 yr old total knee replacement. He was very attentive, esp to my walking peculiarities stemming from scoliosis. His confidence, knowledge & kindness wowed me & on 3/15/17 Dr. Sculco persevered through my arduous knee revision. In contrast to 2 earlier painful TKA's , most remarkably, this expertly managed complex revision enabled me to have a very rapid recovery with minimal discomfort

Dr Peter Sculco is a kind, dedicated physican. He is truly a genius who was willing to take my difficult case. He has created in his practice....along with his competent Jessica and Sophia....a down-to-earth demeanor that is conducive to compassionate healing. This was my first experience with PAs as they were not present when I had my previous surgeries at HSS. I found most of them to be intrusive & somewhat rude as they would relay patient incidents , some of which were not factual.

Dr Sculco took the time and intérest to find out how to fix my knee problems. After two physicians two replacements and a revision surgery I was still in discomfort. Dr Sculco looked at my films and did thorough exams to come up with a treatment plan. Traveling to HSS in New York was the best decision I made regarding my knee. He is thorough, kind, compassionate and accessible with answers to your questions. I would highly recommend Dr Sculco.

Dr Sculco helped save my life when I was hit by a drunk driver when I was 19. I returned to him 35 years later for a knee replacement and found him still an amazing surgeon and a great guy. His office is run by efficient and caring individuals.
