Dr. Praneetha Thulasi

My wife had an appointment with Dr. Thulasi at the Emory Eye Clinic. The scheduler verified we would be covered in-network with our insurance. Upon arrival, Dr. Thulasi's receptionist informed us that Dr. Thulasi was not in-network and that there is a $500 deposit for a new patient and we were asked to sign a document stating we would be required to pay for whatever services were to be rendered. That made sense. We then asked for a quote for the services she would be receiving. The receptionist indicated they would not be able to tell what services my wife required and therefore could not provide a quote. We then asked for a fixed cost diagnostic service, which we would pay for, to determine what services were required, so a total price could be determined. The receptionist said that wasn't available and began to get rude to my wife. At that point we left. Because of the rude staff and poor billing practices I recommend avoiding Dr. Thulasi and Emory Eye Clinic.

Dr Thulasi is a wonderful opthamologist and is extremely caring and compassionate. I have had several issues over the years and since moving back to the Atlanta area have been seeing her. She recently took care of cataract surgery for me and I couldn't be more pleased with her care. I highly recommend her!
