OMG, I just love him. His clinic manners is amazing. He’s very honest and will give it to you straight. His humor is wonderful.

I saw Dr Desai on 1-12-2023 suffering terribly from sciatic and mri show a bad right hip. Waited 1 1/2 hour I was on time came into the room asked a lot of questions and said right hip is not good but going to wait until I had more groin pain and started inching toward the door. Had to say hold on so I could ask questions. I am at home and waiting to see spine specialist. I wish he would have taken a little more time to talk to me or tried to help me with this terrible pain. Within 14 minutes left made me feel so let down with the pain. Sad he could not take more time pain is very real for us individuals suffering.

Dr.Desai is absolutely fantastic! My entire experience, from the initial consultation through having both hips replaced, I have been treated with respect, great care and most importantly very successful surgeries. I suffered through the pandemic unable to walk at all with a complicated congenital hip disorder. I feel forever grateful that Dr. Desai worked his magic and I am walking, dancing, swimming and participating in life again. All the pre op nurses and technicians told me he is a perfectionist and not only was I lucky to have Dr.Desai as my surgeon but he is the best in the whole region. The physical therapists sing his praises too. From my personal experience I would encourage anyone that is suffering with a hip problem to meet Dr. Desai and find out if he could help. He gave me my life back.

I got a knee surgery on 01/10/22 at 67 1/2 y! Preparation, surgery and rehab were incredibly well! After 1 month I was back in business like 10y ago! Thank you Dr. Desai! You are my hero!! Congrats!

Dr. Desai replaced my left knee in August 2021. 5 months later, I am pain free and fully mobile. He and his staff are caring, compassionate, highly skilled and efficient and were excellent throughout the pre-op, surgery and recovery process. Dr. Desai never made me feel rushed, and patiently answered all of my questions. The physical therapy was challenging, but I am very pleased with the results.

The surgery went smoothly and after a few weeks of excellent physical therapy at Jewett I was back on my feet and back to my old self. It is hard to imagine a better experience with hip surgery. Dr. Desai is hands down the best Doctor I’ve ever been to, and I’ll tell you why. . . I did my due diligence and exhaustively researched hip orthopedic surgeons in Central Fl. I was already familiar with Jewitt and felt like they were a quality Florida institution for as long as I could remember. Dr. Desai is a thorough, detailed surgeon. He answers every question and doesn’t beat around the bush. If you want to know what’s wrong and how it can be fixed, this is the surgeon for you. You know you’ve picked a great Doctor when the nurses, therapists, pre and post op surgical staff, x-ray techs and office staff all say the same thing; Dr. Desai is very particular about how he wants things done, and the hips and knees he replaces are installed with precision and care. I had my right hip replaced in Feb. 2021 and my left hip Oct. 2021. I was cleared at 4 weeks after physical therapy (best therapists ever at Jewitt PT orange ave) for both hips. I am horrified by the unprofessional, uncaring treatment I received from Dr Desai. It seems that he did not want to “inherit” me, (58 yr old female) as a patient when my other Jewett doctor “retired.” One appointment is all I had. Just one. In this appointment he proceeded to tell me that I needed to have my leg amputated because of a botched knee replacement. Well, Dr Desai… I found a much better trauma surgeon than you. I have a brand new knee that I look forward to enjoying long bike rides, walks on the beach not to mention playing with my grand children. Shame on you for unprofessional attitude and behavior. On July 22, 2020, Dr. Pratik Desai did a total hip replacement on my left hip. I thank Dr. Desai for this very needed surgery because my quality of life was nothing but daily pain for the last 2 years. I feel so much better now and I can move so well. I was down for 8 weeks and returned back to work and normal activities on September 22, 2020. Jewett Orthopedic Clinic, Dr. Desai, his wonderful assistant Brandy and the therapy staff Annabelle and Scott were amazing. Thank you so much for making my life so much better now.

Dr. Desai doesn't care about his patients. He is arrogant and has no compassion. His assistant Brandie is the same exact way. Very cold, all they care about is money. He acts as if hes gods greatest gift to medicine, but when your in need of help they push you off to Pain management. He's not the solution, he's apart of the problem! find someone else! this isn't the place to go. I have had both of my knees replaced by Dr Desai in the past 2 years. My recovery and ability to be back to complete functioning is fabulous. Throughout the entire time from pre-OP to completion of therapy Dr Desaii and his staff were there for me. Brandy is a delight, and Monica made sure everything was set from the beginning, reducing my stress level. It's not an easy surgery, but if you utilize all of the tools that Dr Desai and his staff make available you will be successful. Therapy is very important and the staff at Orange Ave is outstanding. Maggie, Nellie and all of the staff were there for me every step of the way and I currently have total range of motion in my left knee and after 6 weeks post-op I am almost there with my right knee Successs is there if you use the tools Dr Desai and his staff give you. Dr. Pratik Desai is one of the best orthopedic doctors in central Florida. He told us exactly what the problem was with my husbands hips, explained in detail how he would fix them and did just that. This doctor is highly skilled, he does excellent work and gets the job done right. We feel fortunate to have had a doctor who cares about about his patients and for the quality of service we received. Dr Desai did a total revision on my wife's left knee. It went perfectly and to her surprise there was almost no pain. Several months later the right knee also needed surgery. By then we had moved to Tampa so we chose a surgeon there. This time things went badly. The joint was too flexible and she wasn't able to walk correctly for a year. When she had healed sufficiently we had the knee redone by Dr. Desai back in Orlando. Again, perfect joint alignments and a great job. Although my wife is undergoing PT, she walks with hardly a limp. Dr, Desai is the greatest.

Dr. Desai is a very caring and compassionate orthopedic surgeon with the Jewett Orthopedic Clinic. He took all the time needed to explain the x-ray, what was involved with total hip replacement and allayed my fears He, Brandi and the entire staff is warm, comforting and made me feel like "family" . Received right hip replacement 5 weeks ago. With excellent outcome and progress on recovery, I highly recommend Dr Desai. Very personable but professional at the same time.

I sought help from the Jewett Clinic nearest my home, and Dr. Desai as the hip specialist there. Positive reviews on this website inspired confidence, and he replaced my arthritic hip in late July, 2018, utilizing the least invasive anterior approach and an operating table designed, I believe, specifically for hip replacement surgeries. Full mobility and range of motion were restored after prescribed physical therapy. He is very professional, confident and competent. I highly recommend him.

Want to express my opinion to my recent left hip replacement surgery on 08/20/18 with Dr. Pratik Desai. If there was a higher recommendation than the word EXCELLENT, let me know, I would like to use it when referring to Dr. Desai's, professional appearance, bed side manners, his expert skills in joint replacement, and his concern and advice in follow up. I am so great full to have met and to have chosen Dr. Pratik Desai for my hip replacement. If need again, I wouldn't think twice about calling

Dr desai never helped me with the PROBLEMS i had after surgery, showed up at 4 weeks with my wife , 6 weeks with my son and 8 weeks with my brother telling they were driving me .because my foot would get so numb I would have to pull over later when I got copy of the office visit he said nothing aBout the numbness in the foot and weakness in the leg instead he says that I show up to each visit with a different person each time never thought I would be 3 times worse than before after 7 months thx

Hello D Brian moore Dr pratik p Desai did my hip replacement February 5 2018 I was released to return back to work in 4 weeks I took 5 weeks for physical therapy what a great Doctor I feel like a new person. .I had my right hip done may 7th 2018 and it's only may 10th he made me wait 3 months in between surgeries. . Dr. Desai recently performed my hip replacement. There are not enough words of praise that I can say about him and his team. I traveled an hour to Dr. Desai's office because there was no one in this area who could compare. I am blown away by the level of professionalism and adherence to high standards that I experienced at Jewett Orthopedic Hospital and at Winter Park Memorial Hospital where the surgery was performed by Dr. Desai.

I came in for pain in my left knee which i suspected was a torn meniscus. I was told by this Dr I had arthritis and I would eventually have to have both knees replaced. His examination consisted of twisting my sore knee which intensified the pain from 5 to 10. He wanted to give me a shot and send me on my way. Went to another surgeon with a much better bedside manner and I'm healing nicely from meniscus surgery. Signed (Retired Veteran)

MY EXPERIENCE WITH A REVERSE SHOULDER REPLACEMENT PERFORMED AT BARTOW REGIONAL HOSPITAL UNDER THE HANDS OF DR.DESAI WAS EXCELLANT. HE IS A PROFESSIONAL FROM THE "GIT-GO" THROUGH THE LAST DETAIL. HIS COMPASSIONATE, KNOWLEDGEABLE DEMEANOR IS EVIDENT FROM OFFICE VISIT TO PRE-OP VISIT TO POST-OP FOLLOWUP. YES, HIS STAFF POSSESSES THE SAME HIGH STANDARDS AS WELL.

Dr Desai is a highly skilled and extremely talented surgeon. What makes Dr Desai special is his passionate dedication to making sure the patient has the best possible outcome. He does this by paying attention to details and surrounding himself with competent, capable, and caring coworkers. Everyone I met at Jewett are exceptional professionals that excel at their work and take pride in being the best. They leave no loose ends, always follow-up when needed, and treat you with respect.

I needed a hip replacement & went to Dr. Desai. Fantastic decision! He was extremely competent & personable. I expected good things but it was even better than I thought it would be. Recovery went beautifully & I couldn't be happier.

Dr. Desai has replaced both of my hips. He is an excellent surgeon with his patient's quality of life in the forefront. I would have no other Orthopaedic surgeon operate on me.

Doctor an hour late for my appointment. Unapologetic about over-booking. Diagnosed multiple hip problems. Said surgery wouldn't help. Found another surgeon. Problem solved.

Dr. Desai is an awesome doctor. He did a hip replacement for me. I am 30 years old and I was very worried about it, having just been married and expecting a new addition. He communicated very well with me on my condition. Always asked if I had questions and never acted like the were dumb. He was very knowledgeable even on my rare condition. His bed side manner is outstanding. Always made me feel unique and important.The surgery was flawless. The third party physical therapy even complimented him

I needed the best knee doctor in Central Florida and everyone pointed me to Dr. Desai, luckily. Having the reputation as one of the best at his young age really says something. He's personable, knowledgable and best of all you can tell he really cares about fixing you. He was highly recommended to me and so I'm paying it forward and recommending Dr. Pratik Desai to you.
