Dr. Rachel Sowards

She is very unprofessional &’ hard to talk to. I’ve been going to Prestera since I was 13 years old &’ now I’m 27. My doctor left for whatever reason, &’ she took his place. She doesn’t give anyone the benifit of doubt. She took me off my medicine that I’ve been taking for YEARS &’ I had to be hospitalized for having seizures. Now I have them often after never having them before. She doesn’t care about what you’ve been through or about family history. She only cares about getting Prestera new patients &’ getting rid of the old ones. I really DO NOT like her at all. She is very unprofessional &’ hard to talk to. Rude and basically called me liar n pill seeker because I missed 2 appts hung up on zoom didn't even give me a chance at. She don't care about no one but herself n Savin her own as s. She's rude and so is the staff. Tried to say I cussed a nurse lol what a bunch of bs I said a bad word doesn't mean. I cussed someone there is a HUGE difference n my husband was right here. He knows the truth. Assumes everyone a lying pill seeker even thou I said I'd drug test and so pill counts. Srry I was sick n misses 2 appointments but to cut someone off and lit end a call by hanging up without me even explaining. Just assumes everyone's a liar I guess and doesn't care that u might actually need some help. Just wish more people actually cared makes.me want to give up. N just end it all indef left there angry and feeling that way. :(

If you’re looking for a Doctor that will listen, is compassionate and caring, keep looking. I respect the degree she holds, but it has given her too much of an ego. She’s rude, her attitude is disgusting and she is an example of why people avoid getting help for mental health issues. I would suggest she find a career that doesn’t involve dealing with people. Dr. Sowards is fantastic! She's intelligent and compassionate. I can only give her a 5 here, but she deserves a 10!!

No matter how depressed you are, schedules appointments too far apart. After a year of poor response, she said it “takes time to adjust medications.” Not a year, during which I remained so depressed I had to leave my job.

This lady has zero intellectual ability. You’d be better be off talking to a gypsy on side of the street. You might as well just talk to her pen and prescription pad and she’s likely to prescribe the wrong medication.

first appointment I was literally on the brink of suicide. poured out my heart and she made me feel like I was a liar and scheduled a follow up for SIX WEEKS later with nothing but a mood stabilizer. I was on medication for ADHD and Anxiety for at least 5 years prior to having my children (eldest is almost 5). it was a LONG road to find what medication worked for me with MANY terrible side effects. I don't remember what medicine I tried 15 years ago..... I just know what worked for me perfectly for the 5 years I was on it. I am not a dr. but I am NOT a liar. Don't go to her if you have had previous medications or doctors that have since closed their practice and expect her to believe anything you say or try to help you.

No compassion towards her patients. Brushed off my wife when she needed her most. All this woman wants to do is write scripts for anti depressants. Doesn’t get into the actual talking or caring about what’s going on.

I have seen Dr. Sowards for several years. She is very compassionate, knowledgeable, and competent. You couldn't ask for a better psychiatrist. I LOVE her!
