I wouldn’t let him do a knee replacement on me again. After waiting 10 years to get it replaced because I was too young (48) according to the doctor, I had it done at 58. He didn’t resurface the back of my knee cap, which I had fallen on hard several times before my replacement. A couple of year’s ago, my replaced knee was swelling and aching, so I got a second opinion. The kneecap is showing signs of wear. That’s only 8 years after the replacement. Now I’m living with knee pain again. I would have told him I really wanted it resurfaced if I had known it wasn’t part of his Total Knee Replacement! Most younger doctors seem to do all of it.

Dr. Curtis is a fantastic person along with being an super talented surgeon. I had a shoulder injury that severed both ligaments from the ball of my shoulder. The ligaments were not visible on my MRI. Dr Curtis was able to fish out and re-attach both ligaments. I apparently had a small tear before this latest injury that was causing some strength issues. Post surgery I am stronger than I have been in sometime. Use your rubber exercise bands and follow Dr Curtis ‘s directions and all will workout. Definitely my Doc for the future.

BAD REVIEW! I saw Dr. Curtis after a biking accident that almost completely tore through two of my shoulder tendons and displaced a third one. I am a 71-yr old man, but still very active in a variety of sports. Dr. Curtis gave me only a 10-min visit before he told me that he would not attempt a repair and that I "had to live with the injury for the rest of my life." Basically, he dismissed me because of my age and would not consider surgery. That suggestion would have been life-altering. I sought a second opinion from another shoulder surgeon and am now fully recovered from a surgical repair four months ago with 100% full range of motion and returning to my normal athletic activities. I would NEVER recommend this doctor to anyone who wants to be treated as a person and not simply as a number on a chart! BAD REVIEW! I was treated terribly! He definitely talked down to me and acted like I purposely tore my rotator cuff.

Dr. Curtis is an excellent surgeon. He performed a shoulder replacement on me almost a year ago and he was very thourough on recovery and follow ups. I would highly recommend Dr. Curtis to anyone especially if you are an athlete. I was an amateur bodybuilder and Dr. Curtis was understanding and truthful about what I could expect post surgery. I had some underlying health issues that were unrelated to the surgery he performed and he has been patient and understanding. If my health improves to where I can then I will be visiting with Dr. Cutis in the future about a knee replacement. If your looking for probably the best oerto/sports surgeon in the country then Dr. Curtis is your man.

Can't ever get past the receptionists to get help on anything. I have had other patients at this location say the same thing. Sad!

Dr. Curtis was very helpful and talked me through all my options for my torn labrum. He even pulled out a prop to show me where the labrum was and its purpose. I had a full recovery with great explanations throughout.

Dr. Curtis did my daughter's shoulder surgery with the least invasive method. He is the best at what he does and I trust my other daughter's athletic injury with him as well.

Dr, Curtis replaced my left shoulder Apr 2010; He then replaced my left knee Dec 2015 and my wife's right knee Mar 2016. Unfortunately, he doesn't do hips so I had to go elsewhere for that surgery Sep 2011. Bottom line, he has a Best in the City reputation. We wouldn't even think of using someone else.

Patient care after surgery is TERRIBLE. He has rescheduled every post-op appointment I have had (4 so far), and you can't get another appointment for a minimum of two weeks. This is a huge problem when you are post-op and are waiting for clearance to return to activities such as driving and start PT. I had to start my PT 4 weeks later than I should have and stayed in sling for 4 extra wks. When I asked to speak to Dr. Curtis regarding these concerns on two occasions, his coordinator refused.
