Dr. Ralph David Roden JR.

Dr. Roden was informed of my son's allergy issues at our wisdom teeth removal consult and informed that he could not take ibuprofen due to it triggering hives and facial swelling. My son's allergist prescribed an epinephrine pen and prednisone as additional precautions against the swelling or in case of an emergency after or during the surgery. His surgery was scheduled at a later date, and after surgery, I had to inform the nurse again that my son could not take ibuprofen due to it triggering his facial swelling and hives. She then told me he could just take the prescribed prescription pain medication, supplement with acetaminophen, and use the liquid lidocaine, as needed. I did receive a follow-up call from Dr. Roden that evening, and also mentioned to him again that my son had tried the ibuprofen, but it did cause him to have facial hives and additional swelling, and as per his allergist instructions, he should not take it anymore. After three days of stretching the prescribed pain medication, my son was still in severe pain. I called Dr. Roden's office and informed them of his pain and requested a refill of his pain medication. Neither Dr. Roden nor his nurse called me back to question my son's pain or symptoms. I was told by the receptionist that Dr. Roden would refill my son's prescription but that I would have to come pick it up due to it being a narcotic. The prescription was for 5 additional pain pills. By the next evening, my son was in excruciating pain and his symptoms pointed to dry socket in both of his bottom extractions. I called the after-hours line, as this was a Saturday, and was put in touch with Dr. Roden directly as the on call doctor. Dr. Roden was dismissive and expressed very little care or concern. I was rudely informed that I'd "need to call the office on Monday to bring him in" and that he "couldn't call in any pain medication", which I had not requested. Only after I pressed Dr. Roden for anything that could be done to alleviate the pain did he inform me that I could clean out the sockets myself with salt water using the provided syringe and liquid lidocaine. By this point, I was out of the lidocaine and Dr. Roden did agree to at least call that prescription in for me. I took my son back in on Monday, and he did have dry socket in both lower extractions. Dr. Roden did not even take the time to see my son or talk to me or him regarding the dry socket. Not altering a patient's post-operative pain management plan when you've been informed 4 times of your patient's special circumstances with regards to ibuprofen is not acceptable. Especially when your patient has the potential for serious complications. It's been over a year now and the wisdom tooth extraction holes have still not healed. We have been back to the dentist twice with infections and clean out and may even have to have additional surgery.

Doctor Roden and his staff are first class! The staff were professional, but warm and friendly. They made me very comfortable and explained the procedure completely. They all answered my questions before and after the procedure. My tooth extraction and bone graph were painless. I had very little pain and discomfort the days after the procedure; only taking OTC pain relievers for a couple of days. I would highly recommend Doctor Roden and his professional staff for any of your dental needs!

My wife had a few extractions done yesterday, and never having a tooth pulled, she was extremely nervous. Everyone in the office was great- they did great keeping her calm & relaxed. Dr. Roden was great & he even called at 9pm to see how she was doing. She is excited to get back to finish her dental work with Dr. Roden. I'm leaving off 1 star because of the long wait. They requested we be there at 9:45 (we were)the actual surgery wasn't done until 11:45. So alot of waiting when you're already nervous, was a little unpleasant. But overall, she was pleasantly surprised how easy the extractions were and it was a smooth procedure.

Tooth extraction. Ask for a break on the 500$ fee. Retired, no Dental Ins. military service. Dr. said 500$ fee was a Fair fee. After extraction I researched tooth extraction fees. 500$ fee is well on High side. Not a Fair fee. I feel his practice is run on the premises of NEXT UP!.

Awful. He destroyed my mouth. Going to him was the worst decision I have ever made.

Had wisdom teeth removed and Dr. Roden provided me with all the information to prepare myself for it. He was punctual with our appointment, I was in and out in no time with no complications post surgery. What really made a difference was that later that day I received a call from him to check on how I was doing. Outstanding professional. Highly recommend.

Dr. Roden and staff took terrific care of me through a very difficult surgery! I highly recommend him to anyone! The entire staff was very accommodating and got me right in when I was having pain. Dr. Roden spent a lot of time with me trying to figure out what was going wrong, and got it right! I am happy and healed. Hopefully I don't have any more surgery soon but if I do, I will go back to Dr.Roden for sure.

I had the best experience from start to finish. I had to get my wisdom teeth removed and Dr. Roden and Heather made me feel so comfortable about the experience. They were willing to answer any questions I had (Dr. Roden even called me later on that evening to check up on me). I highly recommend Roden Oral Surgery!
