I went to Dr. Cortes for a pyogenic granuloma growing on the side of my head. It tripled in size within 2 weeks and i was worried it could be something serious because it happened out of the norm. Dr. Cortes treated me like family. He made sure i was comfortable and took away my worries. We sent it to pathology and everything came back okay. He took his time explaining everything to me and made sure i had a full understanding of my diagnosis and the procedure i had to get done. He’s an amazing doctor and he takes his time with his patients. This was honestly my best experience with any doctor. I’m extremely grateful for him. A really bad experience with this doctor. He just saw me for less than 2 minutes, the rest of the time I was in hands of an assistant. He’s lack of empathy and don’t care about the patient. He just charged my insurance a big amount of money, and his solution didn’t work out at all. I had to see other doctor in order to solve my hands problem. I really don’t recommend this doctor. I was very pleased With the diagnostic, treatment, and in general the way that my broken finger was taken care off. The only thing I don’t understand is why the clinic keeps on billing me every time I go after surgery to see the doctor I have never been treated this way the office should not be billing me even if I have a copayment for X-rays since it’s known that after surgery the follow ups are included in the the surgery fee so be very careful and ask because I’ve been 3 times after my surgery to check in my progress and I have been billed every single time. I don’t think is fair to the patient. They shouldn’t be billing a patient that had surgery no matter what your insurance says specially since I had to pay out of pocket for this surgery because of my deductible. I managed to amputate the fingertip of my middle finger on my right dominant hand on May 19. Dr Cortes operated on my finger two days later. I had a fully operational finger, with the exception of full fingertip feeling, in less than 60 days! And it looks pretty much original except for the nail which is still growing out. Dr. Cortes is a wizard! High marks for the Key Biscayne surgical center and his Coral Gables office too. Dr. Cortes is a remarkable combination of a very well credentialed physician (graduated Emory Med School with honors) and a skilled surgeon. He is also a great guy.
