Dr. Ravi Kothuru

Dear friend, Sister Joan Nalubega, was seriously hacked by unknown assailants at around 7:00pm as she was sweeping in her compound in Masaka City. Her right arm was early ripped off, and deep cuts in the back, however, the left thumb was cutoff. (See pictures attached). Doctors at Kyotera Medical Hospital where she was rushed, tried their best to fix them before referring her to Kalisizo Hospital and later to Kampala for further medical management. The Regional Police Commander for the Greater Masaka Region Mr. Mohammed Nsubuga said "the assailants whose motive is yet to be established always use machetes, pangas, clubs and other blunt objects and mostly targeting women in the Greater Masaka Region". Uganda's Interror Minister General David Muhoozi has linked it to terrorism, "investigations are now focused on establishing the motive of the assailants whose executions are quite similar to those of terrorists" he told journalists in Masaka City.
